Charging the Power Station

AC Charging

The power station supports fast charging and standard charging modes for AC charging.

Steps for AC charging (using DJI Power 1000 as an example):

  1. Open the port cover and connect the DJI Power 1000 to an AC outlet using the included AC cable.
  2. Use the charging mode switch to set the charging mode to 1200W fast charging or 600W standard charging. For DJI Power 500, the modes are 540W fast charging or 270W standard charging.

• Disconnect the device from the AC outlet after charging is complete.

• For extended battery cell lifespan, standard charging mode is recommended.

• The power station has a battery cell lifespan protection strategy. If the power station is charged in fast charging mode for five consecutive cycles, it will automatically switch to standard charging mode for battery maintenance on the sixth fast charge. This maintenance process takes approximately 20 minutes.

• If the temperature is outside the normal range during fast charging, the temperature icon on the display will flash slowly. Actual charging power may be reduced to ensure safety and battery cell lifespan.

Diagram Description (AC Charging): A diagram shows the AC input port on the DJI Power 1000. It illustrates connecting the AC cable to the power station and an AC outlet, with labels indicating 100-120V AC and 220-240V AC input options, and the charging mode switch with 1200W and 600W settings.

Solar Charging

The power station can be connected to solar panels using the DJI MPPT Solar Panel Adapter or the DJI Car Charger to SDC Cable for solar charging. Both accessories are sold separately.

Steps for solar charging (using DJI Power 1000 as an example):

  1. Unfold the solar panel, support it with its stand, and align it towards sunlight. Adjust the angle of the support stand. It is recommended that the solar panel surface be perpendicular to the sunlight. Ensure the solar panel is not obstructed.
  2. Connect the solar panel using an XT60 cable to the solar panel adapter module and begin charging.

• Follow the instructions when using a solar panel. NEVER mix solar panel types, as this may damage the device.

• Up to three solar panels can be connected to the adapter module and used in parallel (not in series). Up to two solar panel adapter modules can be connected to the DJI Power 1000, supporting up to six solar panels for solar charging. The DJI Power 500 can connect one solar panel adapter module and up to three solar panels for solar charging.

• The DJI Car Charger to SDC cable allows connecting one solar panel for charging. The maximum current from the solar panels must be less than 10 A, and the output power must be less than 100 W.

• It is recommended to use Zignes solar panels authorized by DJI. If using non-recommended solar panels, ensure they meet the following requirements to avoid damage to the solar panel adapter and power station:

Diagram Description (Solar Charging): Diagram 1 shows unfolding a solar panel and adjusting its angle towards the sun (90° indicated). Diagram 2 shows connecting the solar panel via an XT60 cable to the power station's SDC port, with a Zignes solar panel depicted.

Charging in a Car

The DJI Car Charger to SDC adapter can be used to connect a car's power port to the power station's SDC (or SDC Lite) port for charging in a car.

⚠⚠ Ensure the car's power port input voltage is between 12-30 V and the maximum input current is less than 8 A. Otherwise, abnormal performance or damage to the power station may occur.

• Before charging, ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the car's power port and that the car engine is running.

Diagram Description (Car Charging): A diagram shows the DJI Power 1000 connected via a car charger adapter to a car's power outlet.

USB-C Charging

The DJI Power 500 can be charged using a USB Power Delivery charger via the USB-C port for a maximum charging power of 100 W. It also supports simultaneous power input, where two USB-C ports can be used for a maximum charging power of 200 W.

Diagram Description (USB-C Charging): A diagram shows the DJI Power 500 with two USB-C ports highlighted, indicating charging capability.

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

The power station supports Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). Connect the power station to an AC outlet and connect an external device, such as a computer, to it. Press the AC button once, and the display will show [AC icon]. In this case, the AC outlet powers both the power station and the connected device. Note that the UPS function is enabled by default.

In the event of a sudden power outage, the power station can automatically switch to battery power within 20 ms, ensuring the connected device remains in normal operation.

⚠⚠ The power station only supports basic UPS functionality and does not support 0 ms switching. NEVER connect the power station to devices that require 0 ms UPS, such as medical equipment, data servers, or workstations storing critical data. Doing so may cause device malfunction or data loss.

• This feature may not be available in all regions. Refer to local laws and regulations for more information.

Diagram Description (UPS): A diagram shows the power station connected to an AC outlet (labeled 1), with an external device (labeled 2) connected to the power station. The AC button is indicated (labeled 3).

DJI Power 1000 Expansion

1/4" Thread Hole

The DJI Power 1000 power station has two 1/4" threaded holes, which can be used to connect the DJI MPPT solar module adapter:

Diagram Description (1/4" Thread Hole): Diagram A shows an adapter being attached to the side of the power station. Diagram B shows two adapters being attached to the bottom brackets of the power station.

Protective Carrying Case

The DJI Power 1000 can be used with a protective carrying case. The case protects the power station from scratches and dust, and allows for more convenient carrying.

Open the front of the bag to connect external devices to the power station, and the back of the bag is for storing cables and accessories.

When using the DJI Power 1000 with the protective carrying case, remember to unzip both sides of the bag to avoid blocking the ventilation openings, which could cause overheating.
