Introduction
DJI Power 1000 and DJI Power 500 have similar functions and operations. Except as otherwise specified, the descriptions in this manual refer to DJI Power 1000 as an example and apply to both products.
Product Overview
The DJI Power 1000 is a portable power station with a capacity of 1024 Wh, weighing approximately 13 kg, and supporting a maximum output power of 2200 W. The DJI Power 500 is a portable power station with a capacity of 512 Wh, weighing approximately 7.3 kg, and supporting a maximum output power of 1000 W.
The power stations offer Fast Charging and Standard Charging modes for AC charging. In Fast Charging mode, you can quickly recharge the power station up to 80% in about 50 minutes and to 100% in about 70 minutes. [1] In Standard Charging mode, operating noise can be reduced, and the battery lifespan can be extended. You can also recharge the power station to 100% in about 2 hours. [1] The power stations are equipped with SDC/SDC Lite ports. Through different DJI Power accessories, the power stations can charge DJI Intelligent Flight Batteries and other types of devices, supporting power supply in various scenarios.

DJI Power 1000 - Product Layout
Front Panel:
- 1. Power Button: Press and hold for at least two seconds to turn the device on/off.

Display Screen Details
The display screen shows:
- 1. Current battery level of the power station.
- 2. Remaining usage time when the power station is charging external devices. It displays the remaining time required to fully charge the power station from the current battery level during station charging.
- 3. Battery level bar: The battery level bar flashes sequentially during power station charging. The last segment of the battery level bar flashes when the power station is charging external devices.
System Warnings:
- ERR88: Error code. Temperature Error. When the temperature is abnormal during fast charging, the temperature error icon flashes slowly on the display. Actual charging power may be reduced to ensure the lifespan and safety of the battery cells. The icon will be solid if the temperature is excessively high or low. Wait for the temperature to return to normal.
- OVERLOAD: Overload warning.

Icons:
- ⚡: AC charging in Fast Charging mode.
- ⚡: AC charging in Standard Charging mode.
- ?: USB-A port.
- ?: USB-C port.
- 88Hz: AC output frequency.
- ⚡: Charging the power station from external devices via the SDC/SDC Lite port.
- V: Voltage value when using the SDC/SDC Lite port.
- 88.88%: Intelligent Flight Battery level during charging via the SDC/SDC Lite port.
- Input Power.
- ? [UPS-icon]: Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). If the power station is connected to an AC power outlet and simultaneously outputs power, UPS will be enabled by default. This function is not available in some geographic areas. For more information, refer to local laws and regulations.
- Output Power.
Powering On/Off
To turn the device on/off: Press and hold the power button for at least two seconds. The display screen will turn on automatically after powering up.
To turn the display screen on/off: When the power station is on, press the power button once.
Charging External Devices
AC Output
The power station is equipped with two AC output ports. Connect the external device to an AC output port and press the button for AC power supply.
The power station is equipped with Automatic AC Shutdown and Auto Shutdown for energy saving.
- Automatic AC Shutdown: Press the AC output button once to enable AC output; the AC output indicator light will flash slowly. The AC output will automatically stop to save electricity if the power station is not charging devices via the AC ports within thirty minutes.
- Continuous AC Output: Press and hold the AC output button to enable AC output; the AC output indicator light will illuminate steadily, and the AC output will not stop automatically. This provides a continuous AC power supply for an external device that operates intermittently, such as a refrigerator.
- Auto-Off with Low Power Output: When AC output is disabled, the power station will automatically shut down if it does not charge any device within one hour.
When charging with AC power input at different frequencies, the power station will automatically select the same frequency as the input power. To manually switch the AC output frequency, disconnect the power station from the AC power outlet when AC output is enabled, then press and hold the AC output button for 10 seconds.
- Internal electronic components are equipped with a waterproof coating. A slight odor may occur when using a large amount of power. The odor will dissipate naturally during daily use.
USB Output
The power station is equipped with two USB-A ports and two USB-C ports. Connect the external device to the USB-A or USB-C ports for power supply.
Fast Charging DJI Drone Batteries
DJI Power 1000 has an SDC port and an SDC Lite port, while DJI Power 500 is equipped with an SDC Lite port. The power station can quickly charge a DJI Intelligent Flight Battery using a DJI SDC fast charging cable (sold separately).

Other SDC Output
You can also use the power station with other SDC cables (sold separately) to charge different devices via the SDC/SDC Lite port.
- SDC to Car Charger Power Cable (12 V): The power station can charge car-powered devices, such as a car refrigerator, using this cable. Verify that the external cable is within the output specifications (voltage 13.6 V, current 10 A, power 136 W).
- DJI Power SDC to XT60 Power Cable (12 V): The power station can provide a 12 V DC input for devices equipped with an XT60 port using this cable. Do not directly connect a lithium battery to an XT60 port using the DJI Power SDC to XT60 cable. Ensure you connect the power station to a balanced charger first.
Charging the Power Station
AC Charging
The power station offers Fast Charging and Standard Charging modes for AC charging.
- Fast Charging: In Fast Charging mode, charging power is higher. It takes approximately 50 minutes to charge the power station to 80% and approximately 70 minutes to charge it to 100%.
- Standard Charging: In Standard Charging mode, charging power is lower and operating noise is reduced, making this mode suitable for overnight charging. Charging in Standard Charging mode can extend the battery lifespan. It takes approximately two hours to charge the power station to 100%.
AC Charging Steps (using DJI Power 1000 as example):
- Open the port cover, then connect DJI Power 1000 to an AC power outlet using the included AC power cable.
- Move the charging mode selector to set the mode to 1200 W Fast Charging or 600 W Standard Charging. For DJI Power 500, you can set the charging mode to 540 W Fast Charging or 270 W Standard Charging.
Notes:
- Unplug the AC power outlet after charging is complete.
- It is recommended to use Fast Charging for a longer battery lifespan.
- The power station provides a battery lifespan protection strategy. If you charge the power station in Fast Charging mode for 5 consecutive cycles, the station will switch to Standard Charging mode after the sixth fast charge for battery maintenance. This maintenance process takes about 20 minutes.
- When the temperature is abnormal in Fast Charging mode, the temperature error icon flashes slowly on the display. Actual charging power may be reduced to ensure the lifespan and safety of the battery cells.
Solar Charging
The power station can be connected to solar panels using the DJI Power Solar Panel Adapter (MPPT) or the Car Charger to SDC Power Cable for solar charging. Both accessories are sold separately.
Solar Charging Steps (using DJI Power 1000 as example):
- Open the solar panel, support it with the stand, and align it facing the sunlight. Adjust the angle of the support stand. It is recommended that the solar panel surface be perpendicular to the sunlight. Ensure the solar panel is not obstructed by anything.
- Connect the solar panel to the solar panel adapter with an XT60 cable to start charging.
Notes:
- Follow the instructions for using the solar panel. Do NOT mix different types of solar panels. Otherwise, you risk damaging the device.
- You can connect up to 3 solar panels to the adapter and use them in parallel (they cannot be used in series). DJI Power 1000 allows connecting two solar panel adapters and up to six panels for solar charging. DJI Power 500 allows connecting one solar panel adapter and up to three panels for solar charging.
- The Car Charger to SDC Power Cable for DJI Power allows connecting one solar panel for solar charging. The maximum current of the solar panels should be less than 10 A, and the output power should be less than 100 W.
- It is recommended to use DJI-authorized Zignes solar panels. If using non-recommended solar panels, ensure they meet all the following requirements to avoid damaging the solar panel adapter and the power station: a. The open-circuit voltage is less than 30 V. b. The maximum current of one of the solar panels used is less than 10 A. c. If using more than one solar panel, the total power will be less than 400 W.
- For DJI Power 500, the maximum input power is limited to 300 W when using the SDC Lite port for solar charging.
- Keep the power station away from direct sunlight during charging. Overheating may cause damage to the device.
- Avoid covering the solar panel surface with leaves or other objects. Positioning the solar panel in a partially shaded area will affect current generation efficiency and cause overcurrent, which can damage components.
- Dampen a soft cloth with clean water and wipe the solar panel surface.
Car Charging
You can use the Car Charger to SDC adapter for DJI Power to connect a car's power port to the SDC (or SDC Lite) port of the power station for car charging.
Verify that the input voltage of the car's power port is between 12 and 30 V and that the maximum input current is less than 8 A. Otherwise, it may cause abnormal performance or even damage the power station. Verify that the power adapter is securely connected to the power port and that the car engine is started before charging.
USB-C Charging
DJI Power 500 can be recharged with a USB Power Delivery charger via the USB-C port and achieve a maximum charging of 100 W. It also supports simultaneous power supply, with two USB-C ports that can be used for charging up to a maximum of 200 W.
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
The power station supports the use of an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). Connect the power station to an AC power outlet, then connect an external device, such as a computer, to the station. Press the AC button once; on the display screen, ? [UPS-icon] will appear. In this case, the AC power outlet powers both the power station and the connected device. Note that UPS is enabled by default.
In case of sudden power interruption, the power station can automatically switch to battery power within 20 ms, to ensure that the connected device continues to operate normally.
Notes:
- The power station only supports the basic UPS function, not 0 ms switching. Do NOT connect the power station to devices that require 0 ms UPS, such as medical equipment, data servers, or workstations where important data is stored. Otherwise, device failure or data loss may occur.
- This function is not available in some geographic areas. For more information, refer to local laws and regulations.
Extensions of DJI Power 1000
1/4" Threaded Hole
DJI Power 1000 is equipped with two 1/4" threaded holes, which allow users to mount the DJI Power Solar Panel Adapter (MPPT) onto the power station as follows:
Mount an adapter module onto the power station according to Figure A. Align the mounting holes in the bottom of the brackets and install two adapter modules onto the power station according to Figure B.
- Users can also mount devices with 1/4" screws onto the power station.

Protective Carrying Bag
You can use DJI Power 1000 with the protective carrying bag. The bag can protect the power station from scratches and dust and allows for more convenient transport. Open the front side of the bag to connect external devices to the power station; the back of the bag is for storing cables and accessories.
When using DJI Power 1000 with the protective carrying bag, ensure to open both sides of the bag to avoid blocking the air vents, which could cause overheating.
Appendix
Firmware Update
You can update the firmware versions of DJI Power 1000 and DJI Power 500 using DJI Assistant 2 (Power series). Ensure that your computer is connected to the Internet before updating the firmware. Follow the instructions below to ensure correct firmware updating:
- Turn on the device, press and hold the AC button and the power button simultaneously, until LOAD appears on the display screen.
- Connect the device to a computer.
- Connect the device to an AC power outlet if you are updating the firmware of DJI Power 1000 with a nominal voltage of 100 V or 120 V. Skip this step if you are updating the software of other models of the power station.
- Launch DJI Assistant 2, select the product, and click the firmware update button on the left.
- Select the firmware version, carefully read the messages displayed in DJI Assistant 2, and click Update. The firmware will be downloaded and uploaded to the device automatically.
- The firmware will be updated automatically, and the update progress will be displayed on the screen. Wait for the process to complete. The device will restart automatically upon completion of the firmware update.
Important Notes:
- Do NOT turn off the device, nor disconnect it from the computer during a firmware update.
- Do NOT disconnect the device from the AC power outlet when updating the firmware of DJI Power 1000 with a nominal voltage of 100 V or 120 V.
- In case of firmware update failure, UPGD FAIL (FIRMWARE UPDATE FAILED) will be displayed on the screen. Disconnect the device from the computer and the AC power outlet, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn off the device, then try again.

Maintenance
- If you need to store the power station for a prolonged period, it is recommended to discharge it to 60%. Storage with a low charge level may cause excessive discharge.
- Store the power station in a cool, dry place not exposed to direct sunlight and at a storage temperature between -10°C and 45°C. Do NOT place the power station in water or in locations that may be subject to water leakage.
- Do NOT store the power station for a prolonged period after it has been completely discharged. Otherwise, the battery may discharge excessively, causing irreparable damage to the battery compartment.
- Charge and discharge the power station once every 4 months to ensure battery performance: discharge the station to 15%, power it off, and keep it off for more than two hours, then recharge it to 100% in Standard Charging mode.
- If dirt accumulates, clean the ports with a dry, clean cloth. Do NOT use denatured alcohol or other flammable solvents to clean the power station.
