Introduction

DJI Power 1000 and DJI Power 500 have similar functions and operations. Except as otherwise specified, the descriptions in this manual refer to DJI Power 1000 as an example and apply to both products.

Product Overview

The DJI Power 1000 is a portable power station with a capacity of 1024 Wh, weighing approximately 13 kg, and supporting a maximum output power of 2200 W. The DJI Power 500 is a portable power station with a capacity of 512 Wh, weighing approximately 7.3 kg, and supporting a maximum output power of 1000 W.

The power stations offer Fast Charging and Standard Charging modes for AC charging. In Fast Charging mode, you can quickly recharge the power station up to 80% in about 50 minutes and to 100% in about 70 minutes. [1] In Standard Charging mode, operating noise can be reduced, and the battery lifespan can be extended. You can also recharge the power station to 100% in about 2 hours. [1] The power stations are equipped with SDC/SDC Lite ports. Through different DJI Power accessories, the power stations can charge DJI Intelligent Flight Batteries and other types of devices, supporting power supply in various scenarios.

To turn the display screen on/off: When the power station is on, press the power button once.

Charging External Devices

AC Output

The power station is equipped with two AC output ports. Connect the external device to an AC output port and press the button for AC power supply.

The power station is equipped with Automatic AC Shutdown and Auto Shutdown for energy saving.

When charging with AC power input at different frequencies, the power station will automatically select the same frequency as the input power. To manually switch the AC output frequency, disconnect the power station from the AC power outlet when AC output is enabled, then press and hold the AC output button for 10 seconds.

USB Output

The power station is equipped with two USB-A ports and two USB-C ports. Connect the external device to the USB-A or USB-C ports for power supply.

Fast Charging DJI Drone Batteries

DJI Power 1000 has an SDC port and an SDC Lite port, while DJI Power 500 is equipped with an SDC Lite port. The power station can quickly charge a DJI Intelligent Flight Battery using a DJI SDC fast charging cable (sold separately).

Diagram shows connection of SDC port to various DJI drone batteries (Matrice 30, Air 3, Mavic 3, Inspire 3).

Other SDC Output

You can also use the power station with other SDC cables (sold separately) to charge different devices via the SDC/SDC Lite port.

Charging the Power Station

AC Charging

The power station offers Fast Charging and Standard Charging modes for AC charging.

AC Charging Steps (using DJI Power 1000 as example):

  1. Open the port cover, then connect DJI Power 1000 to an AC power outlet using the included AC power cable.
  2. Move the charging mode selector to set the mode to 1200 W Fast Charging or 600 W Standard Charging. For DJI Power 500, you can set the charging mode to 540 W Fast Charging or 270 W Standard Charging.

Notes:

Solar Charging

The power station can be connected to solar panels using the DJI Power Solar Panel Adapter (MPPT) or the Car Charger to SDC Power Cable for solar charging. Both accessories are sold separately.

Solar Charging Steps (using DJI Power 1000 as example):

  1. Open the solar panel, support it with the stand, and align it facing the sunlight. Adjust the angle of the support stand. It is recommended that the solar panel surface be perpendicular to the sunlight. Ensure the solar panel is not obstructed by anything.
  2. Connect the solar panel to the solar panel adapter with an XT60 cable to start charging.

Notes:

Car Charging

You can use the Car Charger to SDC adapter for DJI Power to connect a car's power port to the SDC (or SDC Lite) port of the power station for car charging.

Verify that the input voltage of the car's power port is between 12 and 30 V and that the maximum input current is less than 8 A. Otherwise, it may cause abnormal performance or even damage the power station. Verify that the power adapter is securely connected to the power port and that the car engine is started before charging.

USB-C Charging

DJI Power 500 can be recharged with a USB Power Delivery charger via the USB-C port and achieve a maximum charging of 100 W. It also supports simultaneous power supply, with two USB-C ports that can be used for charging up to a maximum of 200 W.

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

The power station supports the use of an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). Connect the power station to an AC power outlet, then connect an external device, such as a computer, to the station. Press the AC button once; on the display screen, ? [UPS-icon] will appear. In this case, the AC power outlet powers both the power station and the connected device. Note that UPS is enabled by default.

In case of sudden power interruption, the power station can automatically switch to battery power within 20 ms, to ensure that the connected device continues to operate normally.

Notes:

Extensions of DJI Power 1000

1/4" Threaded Hole

DJI Power 1000 is equipped with two 1/4" threaded holes, which allow users to mount the DJI Power Solar Panel Adapter (MPPT) onto the power station as follows:

Mount an adapter module onto the power station according to Figure A. Align the mounting holes in the bottom of the brackets and install two adapter modules onto the power station according to Figure B.

Diagrams show adapter mounting.

Protective Carrying Bag

You can use DJI Power 1000 with the protective carrying bag. The bag can protect the power station from scratches and dust and allows for more convenient transport. Open the front side of the bag to connect external devices to the power station; the back of the bag is for storing cables and accessories.

When using DJI Power 1000 with the protective carrying bag, ensure to open both sides of the bag to avoid blocking the air vents, which could cause overheating.

Appendix
