Introduction
The DJI Power 1000 is a portable power station with a capacity of 1024 Wh, weighing approximately 13 kg, and supporting a maximum output power of 2200 W. The DJI Power 500 is a portable power station with a capacity of 512 Wh, weighing approximately 7.3 kg, and supporting a maximum output power of 1000 W.
These power stations offer fast charging and standard charging modes for AC input. In fast charging mode, the station can reach 80% in about 50 minutes and 100% in about 70 minutes [1]. Standard charging mode reduces operating noise and can extend battery cell lifespan, reaching 100% in about 2 hours [1]. The power stations feature SDC/SDC Lite ports and, with various DJI Power accessories, can charge DJI drone batteries and power other devices for diverse scenarios.

Display Screen Explained
1. Battery Level: Displays the current battery percentage.
2. Remaining Time: Shows estimated usage time when powering devices or time to full charge.
3. Battery Level Indicator: The battery level indicator segments flash during charging or powering. The last segment blinks when charging external devices or when the power station is charging.
4. System Warnings: Displays error codes like ERR88 (temperature error) or OVERLOAD.
5. Charging Mode Indicators: Icons for Quick Charge AC [⚡], Standard Charge AC [⚡], USB-A [?], USB-C [?].
6. AC Output Frequency: Displays the output frequency (e.g., 88Hz).
7. SDC/SDC Lite Port: [⚡] Indicates charging the power station or external devices via SDC/SDC Lite.
8. Voltage Display: Shows voltage when using SDC/SDC Lite ports (e.g., 88.88 V).
9. Battery Level Display: Shows drone battery level when charging via SDC/SDC Lite.

System Warnings
ERR88: Error Code - Temperature error. In fast charging mode, the temperature error icon will blink slowly. Charging power may be reduced to ensure battery durability and safety. The icon will remain lit if the temperature is too high or too low. Wait for the temperature to return to normal.
OVERLOAD: Overload Warning - Visit https://s.dji.com/DJI-Power for details on warnings and troubleshooting.
Powering On/Off
Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button for at least two seconds. The display will turn on automatically.
Display On/Off: With the power station on, press the power button once.
Charging External Devices
AC Output
The power station has two AC output ports. Connect an external device to an AC output port and press the AC output button to supply AC power.
The power station features automatic AC output shutoff and energy-saving auto-shutoff.
- Automatic AC Output Shutoff: Press the AC output button once to enable AC output. The AC output indicator will blink slowly. If no device is connected for 30 minutes, the AC output will automatically turn off to save electrical energy.
- Continuous AC Output: Press and hold the AC output button to enable AC output. The AC output indicator will stay lit, ensuring continuous AC power for devices that operate intermittently, such as refrigerators.
- Automatic Shutoff at Low Output Power: When AC output is disabled, the power station will automatically shut off if no device is connected for one hour.
When charging with different AC frequencies, the power station automatically adjusts to the input frequency. To manually switch the AC output frequency, unplug the power station from the AC outlet, then press and hold the AC output button for 10 seconds.
Internal electrical components have a waterproof coating. A slight odor may be noticeable when using high power, which will dissipate with normal use.
USB Output
The power station has two USB-A ports and two USB-C ports. Connect external devices to the USB-A or USB-C ports for power.
Fast Charging DJI Drone Batteries
DJI Power 1000 has an SDC port and an SDC Lite port; DJI Power 500 has an SDC Lite port. The power station can fast charge compatible DJI drone batteries using an SDC fast charging cable (sold separately).
Connect to compatible drone batteries such as DJI Matrice 30 series, DJI Air 3, DJI Mavic 3 series, and DJI Inspire 3.
Other SDC Output
The power station can be used with other SDC cables (sold separately) to charge various devices via the SDC/SDC Lite port.
- DJI SDC to Car Charger Cable (12V): Use this cable to charge in-car devices like refrigerators. Ensure the external device matches the cable's output specifications (13.6V, 10A, 136W).
- DJI SDC to XT60 Cable (12V): Provides 12V DC input for devices with an XT60 port. WARNING: Do not connect LiPo batteries directly to the XT60 port using this cable. Always connect the power station to a balance charger first.
Charging the Power Station
AC Charging
The power station supports Quick Charge and Standard Charge modes for AC input.
- Quick Charge Mode: Higher charging power. Reaches 80% in approximately 50 minutes and 100% in approximately 70 minutes.
- Standard Charge Mode: Lower charging power and noise, suitable for overnight charging. Extends battery cell lifespan. Reaches 100% in approximately 2 hours.
Steps for AC Charging (DJI Power 1000 example):
- Open the port cover and connect the DJI Power 1000 to an AC power outlet using the included AC power cable.
- Use the charging mode switch to select Quick Charge mode (1200W for Power 1000, 540W for Power 500) or Standard Charge mode (600W for Power 1000, 270W for Power 500).
Notes:
- Unplug the AC power source after charging is complete.
- Standard Charge mode is recommended for longer battery cell lifespan.
- The power station has a battery health protection strategy. If the power station is charged in Quick Charge mode for five consecutive cycles, it will automatically switch to Standard Charge mode for the sixth quick charge to maintain the battery. This maintenance process takes approximately 20 minutes.
- In Quick Charge mode, if the temperature is abnormal, the temperature error icon will blink slowly. Charging power may be reduced to ensure battery durability and safety.
Solar Charging
The power station can be charged using solar panels via the DJI Power (MPPT) solar panel adapter or the DJI Power SDC car charger cable for solar charging. Both accessories are sold separately.
Steps for Solar Charging (DJI Power 1000 example):
- Unfold the solar panel, prop it up, and orient it towards the sun. Adjust the angle of the support. It is recommended that the solar panel surface be perpendicular to the sunlight. Ensure there are no obstructions between the solar panel and the sun.
- Connect the solar panel to the solar panel adapter module using the XT60 cable to begin charging.
Notes:
- Follow the solar panel instructions. Do not use different types of solar panels, as this may damage the device.
- Up to three solar panels can be connected in parallel to the adapter module (serial connection is not supported). DJI Power 1000 can connect two solar panel adapter modules and up to six solar panels for solar charging. DJI Power 500 can connect one solar panel adapter module and up to three solar panels for solar charging.
- The DJI Power SDC car charger cable allows solar charging. The maximum solar panel current should be less than 10A, and the output power should be less than 100W.
- It is recommended to use Zignes solar panels approved by DJI. If using unapproved solar panels, ensure they meet the following requirements to avoid damage to the solar panel adapter and power station:
- Open-circuit voltage is lower than 30V.
- Maximum current of a single solar panel is lower than 10A.
- If using multiple solar panels, the total power is less than 400W.
- For DJI Power 500, the maximum input power for solar charging via the SDC Lite port is limited to 300W.
- Keep the power station away from direct sunlight during charging. Overheating may cause device damage.
- Ensure leaves and other objects do not cover the solar panel surface. Placing the solar panel in a partially shaded area will affect power generation efficiency and may cause overvoltage, potentially damaging components.
- Clean the solar panel surface with a soft cloth dampened with water.
Car Charging
The DJI Power car charging output to the SDC adapter can be used to connect the car charging port to the power station's SDC port (or SDC Lite port) for car charging.
Ensure the car charger's input voltage is between 12-30V and the maximum input current is below 8A. Otherwise, it may cause abnormal operation or damage to the power station.
Ensure the adapter is securely connected to the car charging port and the car engine is running before charging.
USB-C Charging
DJI Power 500 can be charged via USB Power Delivery through the USB-C port with a maximum charging power of 100W. It also supports simultaneous power input from multiple sources, where two USB-C ports can be used for charging with a maximum power of 200W.
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
The power station supports Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). Connect the power station to an AC outlet and then connect your external device, such as a computer, to it. Press the AC button once, and the AC output will power both the power station and the connected device. The UPS is enabled by default.
In case of sudden power loss, the power station can automatically switch to battery power within 20ms, ensuring the connected device operates normally.
Important Notes:
- The power station only supports basic UPS functionality and does not support 0ms switching. Do not connect the power station to devices that require 0ms UPS, such as medical equipment, data servers, or workstations for critical data storage. Failure to do so may result in device failure or data loss.
- This function is available only in certain regions. For more information, consult local laws and regulations.
Accessories for DJI Power 1000
1/4" Threaded Hole
The DJI Power 1000 charging station has two 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) threaded holes, allowing users to attach the DJI Power (MPPT) solar panel adapter module to the charging station as follows:
- Attach one adapter module to the charging station as shown in Figure A.
- Align the mounting holes at the bottom of the heatsink brackets and attach two adapter modules to the charging station as shown in Figure B.
Devices with 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) screws can also be attached to the charging station.
Protective Storage Bag
The DJI Power 1000 can be used with a protective storage bag. The bag can protect the power station from scratches and dust, and ensure more convenient carrying.
The open front of the bag is for connecting external devices to the power station, and the rear of the bag is for storing cables and accessories.
When using the DJI Power 1000 with the protective storage bag, be sure to unzip both sides of the bag to avoid blocking the vents, which could cause overheating.
Addendum
Firmware Update
Firmware for DJI Power 1000 and DJI Power 500 can be updated using the DJI Assistant 2 (Power Series) app. Before updating the firmware, ensure your computer is connected to the internet. Follow the instructions below to ensure a successful firmware update:
- Turn off the device. Simultaneously press and hold the AC output button and the power button until "LOAD" appears on the display screen.
- Connect your computer to the designated USB-C port as shown in the illustration.
- If updating DJI Power 1000 with a nominal voltage of 100V or 120V, connect the device to an AC outlet. Skip this step if updating firmware for other power station models.
- Launch the DJI Assistant 2 app, select your product, and click the firmware update button on the left side.
- Select the firmware version, carefully read the prompts in the DJI Assistant 2 app, and click update. The firmware will be automatically downloaded and transferred to the device.
- The firmware will update automatically, and the progress will be displayed on the screen. Wait for the process to complete. The device will restart automatically after the firmware update is finished.
Important Notes:
- Do not turn off or disconnect the device from the computer during the firmware update.
- Do not unplug the device from the AC power source when updating firmware for DJI Power 1000 with a nominal voltage of 100V or 120V.
- If the firmware update fails, "UPGD FAIL" will appear on the screen. Disconnect the device from the computer and the AC outlet, press and hold the power button for five seconds to turn off the device, and try again.

Maintenance
- If the power station needs to be stored for an extended period, it is recommended to discharge it to 60%. Storing at a low battery level can lead to over-discharge.
- The power station should be stored at temperatures between -10° to 45° C (14° to 113° F) in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight. Do not place the power station in water or in locations where water may leak.
- Do not store the power station for extended periods after it has been fully discharged. Otherwise, the battery may over-discharge and cause irreversible damage to the battery cell.
- Charge and discharge the power station once every four months to ensure battery performance: discharge the power station to 15%, turn it off for over two hours, and then charge it to 100% in standard charging mode.
- Clean ports with a clean, dry cloth if there is noticeable buildup. Do not clean the power station with alcohol or other flammable solvents.
