Installation Instructions
- Disassemble the bumper and permanently remove the plastic buffer beam.
- Attach the carrying arms (1) left and (2) right via the openings created in the chassis beams. Ensure points (A) and (B) align with the provided drillings. Insert bolts and washers at points (A) and hand-tighten.
- Position the towbar with points (B) and (C) between the carrying arms. Insert bolts and washers and tighten everything securely according to the specified torque values.
- Assemble the ball (*) along with the multi-socket holder (-p) and the safety eye (-s).
- Make a cut-out in the lower part of the bumper according to Figure 1 (for T48) or Figure 2 (for T38). Remount the bumper onto the vehicle.
Bumper Disassembly Steps:
- Remove 2 screws at the trunk entrance.
- Remove 2x1 screws above and behind the mudguard.
- Remove 2x2 plastic nails on the mudguard.
- Remove 2 plastic nails on the lower part of the bumper.
- Release the bumper sides and slide the bumper backwards.
Important Note: For the maximum permissible towing mass of your vehicle, consult your car dealer or owner's manual. Remove any bitumen or anti-rattle coating from the fastening points. When drilling, be careful not to damage any brake or fuel lines.
Bumper Cut-out Details
These diagrams illustrate the required cut-outs for the bumper depending on the towbar model (T48 or T38).

Important Advice and Recommendations
Fitting:
- Ensure the towbar has not been damaged during transport and is the correct reference for the vehicle.
- Read the fitting instructions carefully and follow them precisely.
- Present the towbar under the car before fitting to check alignment.
- If drilling is required, ensure no wires are damaged. Remove soundproofing material and protect drilled holes with an anti-corrosive product.
- If the vehicle has non-standard bumpers (special series, sport, tuning parts), contact GDW technical service to confirm compatibility.
Guarantee:
- Do not exceed the indicated towing weight, "D", and "S" values.
- The towbar must be checked after 1,000 km of use and at least once a year.
- Check and retighten all bolts as necessary.
- Repair any paint damage.
- Replace any parts damaged due to an accident or collision.
- Grease the internal parts of detachable towbar systems.
Use:
- If the towing ball obstructs the license plate or fog light, it must be removed when not in use.
Clearance Specifications
The clearance must comply with Supplement VII, Diagram 30 of guideline 94/20/EG.
This guideline specifies required clearance zones to ensure proper function and safety.
The diagrams illustrate these clearance requirements relative to the vehicle's chassis and the towbar assembly, with specific angles and minimum/maximum dimensions indicated.
These specifications are to be observed at the permissible total weight of the vehicle.
