This manual provides essential information for the safe setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Bestway SaluSpa inflatable hot tub.
Important Safety Instructions
WARNING: Always follow basic safety precautions when using this electrical equipment.
READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, do not permit children to use this product unless they are closely supervised at all times.
A wire connector is provided for connecting a minimum 8 AWG (8.37 mm²) solid copper conductor between the unit and any metal equipment, metal enclosures, metal water pipe, or conduit within 5 feet (1.5 m) of the unit.
DANGER: Risk of injury. Replace damaged cords immediately. Do not bury cords. Connect only to a grounded, grounding-type receptacle.
WARNING: The product includes an integrated ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI) in the power plug. Test the GFCI before each use: with the product operating, press the test button; the product should stop. Press the reset button; the product should resume normal operation. If it fails, disconnect power and correct the fault.
DANGER: Risk of Accidental Drowning. Exercise extreme caution to prevent unauthorized access by children. Ensure children are supervised at all times.
DANGER: Risk of Injury. Suction fittings are sized for pump flow rates. If replacing fittings or the pump, ensure compatible flow rates. Never operate the spa if suction fittings are broken or missing. Never replace a fitting with one rated lower than the original.
DANGER: Risk of Electric Shock. Install at least 5 feet (1.5m) from all metal surfaces. Alternatively, connect metal surfaces within 5 feet to the unit's terminal box with a minimum 8 AWG copper conductor.
DANGER: Risk of Electric Shock. Do not place any electric appliance (light, telephone, radio, TV) within 5 feet (1.5m) of a spa.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury:
- Water temperature should not exceed 104°F (40°C). 100°F (38°C) to 104°F (40°C) is safe for adults. Lower temperatures are recommended for children and short durations.
- Pregnant women should limit spa water temperatures to 100°F (38°C) due to potential fetal damage.
- Always measure water temperature with an accurate thermometer before entering.
- Alcohol, drugs, or medication use before or during spa use can lead to unconsciousness and drowning risk.
- Obese persons or those with heart disease, high/low blood pressure, circulatory problems, or diabetes should consult a physician before use.
- Persons using medication should consult a physician, as some may cause drowsiness or affect vital signs.
WARNING: TO AVOID ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT USE THE SPA WHEN IT IS RAINING.
WARNING: Water attracts children; always attach the spa cover after each use.
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY: Never add water higher than 104°F (40°C).
CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN FOR RECOMMENDATIONS.
CAUTION: Do not unfold or inflate the spa if the ambient temperature is below 59°F (15°C). Inflate indoors and then set up outdoors. If the outdoor temperature is below 42.8°F (6°C), the spa heater must remain on. The Freeze Shield™ system will maintain the internal temperature between 42.8°F (6°C) and 50°F (10°C) to prevent freezing damage.
IMPORTANT: If the Freeze Shield™ system is not working, alarms will appear. Check the spa status if the outdoor temperature is below 42.8°F (6°C). For long-term absence in freezing conditions, disassemble and store the spa.
CAUTION: Do not use the spa alone.
CAUTION: Enter and exit the spa slowly and cautiously; wet surfaces are slippery.
CAUTION: To avoid pump damage, never operate the spa unless it is filled with water.
CAUTION: Immediately leave the spa if you feel uncomfortable or sleepy.
NOTE: Examine equipment before use. Notify Bestway® for any damaged or missing parts at the time of purchase. Verify all components.
This device complies with FCC Rules Part 15. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) no harmful interference, and (2) acceptance of any received interference. Unauthorized changes may void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and complies with Class B digital device limits under FCC Rules, providing reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. It generates, uses, and radiates radio frequency energy. If it causes harmful interference to radio communications, try measures like reorienting the antenna, increasing separation, or using a different circuit. Consult your dealer or a technician for help.
To satisfy FCC/IC RF exposure requirements, maintain a separation distance of 20 cm or more from the device antenna during operation. Operations closer than this distance are not recommended. Local regulations may apply.

- DO NOT ENTER SPA IF WATER IS HOTTER THAN 100°F(38°C)
- DO NOT STAY IN SPA FOR LONGER THAN 10 MINUTES.
NOTE: The warning label must be posted near your spa in a readable position during use.
Spa Suction Fitting Instructions
When installing and using this equipment, follow basic safety precautions.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: READ, FOLLOW, AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS.
- Any modification increasing circulation flow rate requires re-evaluation of the cover/grate and sump to ensure flow rating is not exceeded.
- Missing, broken, or cracked suction outlet fitting assembly (SOFA) components must be replaced before use.
- Loose cover/grates must be reattached before use.
- Replace suction fittings every 3 years.
- Adhesives or other attachment methods preventing access to SOFA components for servicing are prohibited.
- Refer to the diagram for SOFA component instructions (e.g., S01).
- Field modifications not authorized by the manufacturer void SOFA certification.
- No modification to SOFA structure or flow path is permitted unless certified.
- Cover/grates and SOFA components must be replaced at or before their service life ends.
- For winterizing: Dry suction fittings completely and store the product in a dry room at 59°F~104°F (15°C~40°C).
- Observe cover/grate and fasteners for damage daily.
- Replace missing, broken, or cracked cover/grates.
- Reattach loose cover/grates and components.
- Ensure SOFA components and fastener receptacles are clean and free of debris.
- Hand-check cover/grate snugness after installation.
- Before use, check the integrity of the suction fitting head; do not use if broken.
- All SOFAs must be installed per manufacturer instructions.
- SOFA-configuration specific flow ratings must not be exceeded.
- Cover/grates shall not protrude more than 2 inches (51 mm) from the finished pool surface.

Selected Location
IMPORTANT: Due to the combined weight of the SaluSpa, water, and users, the installation surface must be smooth, flat, level, and capable of supporting the weight. Damage from improper support is not covered by warranty. The owner is responsible for ensuring surface integrity.
1. Indoor Installation:
- Be aware of humidity effects on wood, paper, etc. Provide ample ventilation. Consult an architect if more ventilation is needed.
2. Outdoor Installation:
- Water may spill during filling, draining, or use; install near a floor drain.
- Do not expose the spa surface to direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

Installation
Set-Up Instruction in Winter
Follow these suggestions for winter setup to prevent PVC damage and extend product life.
- If ambient temperature is below 50°F (10°C), keep the package indoors above 59°F (15°C) for at least 2 hours before inflation to make the liner more flexible.
- Open and inflate the spa in a room above 59°F (15°C), using the spa heater.
- Position the spa liner outdoors, connect the spa heater, and fill with water.
- Important: Water used for filling must be above 42.8°F (6°C) to prevent E03 alarm.
- Important: If the Freeze Shield™ system is not working, alarms will appear. Check the spa status if the outdoor temperature is below 42.8°F (6°C). For long-term absence in freezing conditions, disassemble and store the spa. When reassembling, the automatic warm function will activate.
Installation Steps (Diagrams illustrate):
- Spa cover.
- Connecting pump to spa inlet/outlet.
- Plugging pump into power.
- Inflating spa and checking pressure (0.48-0.69 Bar / 7-10 PSI) within 5 minutes.
- Placing liner and cover.
- Connecting pump to spa, checking connections (✔️/❌).
- Connecting pump to spa.
- Attaching outer skirt/panel to pump.
GFCI Test
IMPORTANT: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. TEST GFCI BEFORE EACH PUMP USE.
- Plug GFCI into outlet; indicator turns red.
- Press test button; indicator turns off.
- Press reset button; indicator turns red, spa is ready.
WARNING: Test GFCI before each use. Ensure outlet current rating is suitable for the pump. Do not use if test fails. Visit www.bestwaycorp.com for assistance.
WARNING: Using extension leads or multi-plug adaptors with the spa heater can cause overheating. Connect directly to a grounded socket. Use a socket resistant to humidity and high power loading. Regularly check plug and socket for damage.
NOTE: Air expulsion from the inflation hose connection during inflation is normal.
NOTE: Do not use an air compressor to inflate the pool.
NOTE: Do not drag the pool on rough ground.
NOTE: Inflation time is for reference only.
Important: Do not cover the inflation hose holes; this can over-inflate and damage the liner.
Air Valve Check
Always check the air valve for leaks before inflation. If loose, use the provided wrench to fasten it.
With one hand, hold the backside of the air valve from the inner side of the spa wall and turn the wrench clockwise.
NOTE:
- Do not over tighten.
- Do not adjust the air valve connector when the spa is in use.
Using the Spa
Hyperthermia: Occurs when body temperature exceeds normal levels, causing dizziness, lethargy, fainting, and potential drowning. Alcohol, drugs, or medication can increase this risk.
WARNING: WATER TEMPERATURE IN EXCESS OF 100°F (38°C) CAN BE INJURIOUS TO YOUR HEALTH.
Control Panel Functions:
The control panel allows operation of the spa functions. Buttons are labeled A-J:
- A. LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON: Locks/unlocks the pump with a 3-second press. The lock light turns on when locked.
- B. POWER-SAVING TIMER BUTTON: Sets heating duration (1-999 hours) and activation time (0-999 hours from now). Press button to set duration, adjust with +/- buttons, confirm. Then set activation time, adjust, and confirm. The timer is one-time use and does not repeat.
- C. HEAT BUTTON: Activates the heating system (red light). Green light indicates water is at set temperature.
- D. MASSAGE SYSTEM BUTTON: Activates the massage system with a 30-minute auto-shutoff (red light). IMPORTANT: Do not run with the cover attached to prevent air accumulation and damage.
- E/G. TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT BUTTONS: Increase or decrease temperature settings. Hold buttons for rapid adjustment. The new setting displays for 3 seconds. Default temperature is 95°F (35°C). Range: 68°F (20°C) to 104°F (40°C).
- F. ON/OFF BUTTON: Press for 2 seconds to activate control panel buttons (green light). Press for 2 seconds to turn off all functions.
- H. CELSIUS/FAHRENHEIT TOGGLE: Switches temperature display between °C and °F.
- I. WATER FILTER BUTTON: Turns the filter pump on/off (red light when active).
- J. Wi-Fi activation: Refer to Wi-Fi operation instructions.
POWER-SAVING TIMER LED: Flashing indicates setting heating duration; solid light indicates heating is active. Flashing indicates setting activation time; solid light indicates timer is set.
NOTE: Water heater rate may change if outdoor temperature is below 59°F (15°C) or if the cover is not in position during heating.
NOTE: To display current water temperature, run the filter system for at least a minute. External thermometer readings may vary by up to 2°C (3.6°F).
Winter Use Instructions
You can keep the spa on during winter when temperatures are lower than 42.8°F (6°C). The Freeze Shield™ system maintains water temperature between 42.8°F (6°C) and 50°F (10°C) to prevent freezing.
Important: If water temperature is below 42.8°F (6°C), the spa heater must always be on. The Freeze Shield™ system prevents freezing damage.
Important: If Freeze Shield™ is not working, alarms will appear. Check spa status if outdoor temperature is below 42.8°F (6°C). For long-term absence in freezing conditions, disassemble and store the spa.
Damage from use in these conditions is the customer's responsibility. Do not use the spa if the ambient temperature reaches 14°F (-10°C).

Heating duration to reach 104°F (40°C) depends on starting water and ambient temperatures:

NOTE: Always cover the spa when heating is active. Leaving it uncovered increases heating time.

NOTE: The device connects to one mobile phone at a time. To connect another phone, press the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds until the indicator light flashes slowly to clear previous connections.
NOTE: Ensure your mobile device is close to the pump and has a strong Wi-Fi signal.
NOTE: App supports Android 7.0+ and iOS 10.0+.
NOTE: Supports 2.4G network only; 5G is not supported.
NOTE: Avoid public Wi-Fi due to potential verification code issues.
Connection Steps:
- Ensure your mobile device is connected to Wi-Fi.
- Plug in the spa. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the pump for 3 seconds to begin syncing. The Wi-Fi indicator light should flash slowly.
- Open the Bestway Smart Hub™ App. Follow the on-screen guide: Login/register, input Wi-Fi password, connect to the network (e.g., BW-LayZSPA-xxx, Password: 123456789). Wait for the connection process to finish.
You can now control your SaluSpa via the mobile device and control panel.
Sharing Function
Only one person can scan the Shared QR code at a time. Generate a new code for other devices. The code expires after 15 minutes. Sharing is limited to users in the same country.
Disconnect
Press the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds until the indicator flashes slowly.

Maintenance
CAUTION: Ensure the pump is unplugged before maintenance.
Adding Air:
Periodically add air as temperature changes may cause deflation. Follow assembly instructions for inflation pressure. Block hoses when using the pump for inflation to prevent water escape, then screw on the cap (P00217).
Cover Maintenance:
Clean the cover inside and out periodically with a solution including disinfection (e.g., 10 mg/l Free Chlorine).
Filter Cartridge Maintenance:
Check and clean filter cartridges daily to ensure clean spa water. Replace cartridges weekly or if soiled/discolored.
Water Maintenance:
Pollutants can cause bacterial, algal, or fungal growth. Clean spas regularly. Stains or biofilms may develop. Change water completely and disinfect as needed based on hygiene, cleanliness, odor, and debris.
Observe draining regulations. Keep spa water clean and chemically balanced. Use pool chemicals like chlorine or bromine tablets (not granules) with the chemical dispenser.
Water quality depends on usage and maintenance. Change water every 3 days if no chemical treatment is used.
Use tap water for filling to minimize mineral influence. Clean barefoot and relaxing areas. Do not let cleaning water enter the spa cycle. Rinse dirt and cleaning agents carefully.
Note: Shower before use to remove cosmetic residues that degrade water quality.
Using Chemical Tablets (not included):
Important: Do not use granular tablets or throw tablets directly into the water, as chemicals can deposit on the bottom and damage the PVC.
Using Chemical Liquid (not included):
Important: Add chemical liquid in small doses in the center of the pool, avoiding direct contact with the spa surface, which can cause damage and discoloration.
NOTE: Remove the chemical dispenser when the spa is in use.
IMPORTANT: After chemical maintenance and before use, test water chemistry with a test kit. Recommended water parameters:

NOTE: Damage from chemical imbalance is not covered by warranty. Pool chemicals are toxic; handle with care. Consult your local pool supply retailer for chemical maintenance information and follow manufacturer instructions.
Important: Overuse of chemicals can discolor and damage the spa material and structure.

NOTE: Lift the spa when only a little water remains. Handle damage is not covered by warranty.
Cleaning the Spa:
Detergent residues and dissolved solids can build up. Use soap and water to clean walls and rinse thoroughly. NOTE: DO NOT use hard brushes or abrasive cleaners.
Deflation:
The spa has a deflation function to remove air for easier packing and storage. Diagrams show deflation using screw valves and quick inflation/deflation valves.
Repair:
For PVC part: If torn or punctured, use the provided underwater adhesive repair patch. Clean the area, peel the patch, press it over the repair, and wait 30 seconds before inflation.
For Tritech PVC material: Use the provided PVC repair patch and glue (not included). Clean and dry the area. Cut the patch to size. Apply glue evenly to the patch. Wait 30 seconds, then place the patch over the damaged area. Smooth out air bubbles and press firmly for two minutes. Repeat if necessary. Wait 30 minutes before inflation.

Wi-Fi Setup Troubleshooting
