Installation Steps
Door Preparation
Note: If a strike is already installed, use it as a reference for latch positioning.
- Draw a horizontal line on both sides and the edge of the door at the desired handle height.
- Draw a vertical center line on the door edge.
- Draw a vertical line on each side of the door at the proper backset to align the template.
- Position templates on the edge and sides of the door. Mark holes for the mortise cavity (A), lock front (B), and handle (C) and cylinder (D) holes (inside face only).
- Remove the template and prepare the door according to the mortise cavity dimensions (A).
- Insert the lockcase and draw the outline of the faceplate for door preparation.
- Note: Holes for SALTO electronic escutcheon fixation are not included in this template; use the template provided with the escutcheon.
Installing the Lock
- Insert the lock into the cavity.
- Mark and drill faceplate holes. Fasten the faceplate with screws to secure the lock.
Installing the Strike
- Refer to the latch to determine the correct strike location on the jamb.
- Use the strike as a template to mark and chisel the recess.
- Drill screw holes. Place the dust box and strike, then fasten with the supplied screws.
- Verification Checks:
- Ensure the deadbolt and latch fit the strike cavities without touching.
- The gap between the door and jamb should be between 2-4 mm.
- The strike flap must protrude at least 2mm. If not, contact your distributor for special strikes.
Cable Connection
For models with detectors, connect according to the relevant electronic escutcheon installation guide.
Maintenance
SALTO locks are pre-lubricated from the factory. Periodic lubrication of moving parts (latch, auxiliary latch, deadbolt) with commercial quality grease is recommended every 20,000 cycles or annually to minimize wear and prolong the lock's lifespan. More frequent lubrication may be necessary in harsh environments.
Product Markings and Certifications
The product features various certifications and compliance markings, including CE, UKCA, and CERTIFIRE, indicating adherence to safety and performance standards like EN 12209 and EN 179.
