Salto Ælement for EURO Mortise Lock Installation Guide
This document provides installation instructions for the Salto Ælement for EURO mortise lock, model series LE7Sx7x.
Important Notes:
- Ensure you are using the correct SALTO spindle.
- For door thicknesses greater than 65mm, specific considerations apply.
- Mounting with non-SALTO spindles will void the warranty.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Preparation
The diagram shows the initial components and their placement on the door.
Step 2: Mortise Lock Installation
Detailed diagrams illustrate the insertion and securing of the mortise lock mechanism. Ensure the groove is on the same side as the grub screw.
Note: The mortise lock itself is not included with the Ælement.
Step 3: Handle and Cylinder Installation
Illustrations show the attachment of the handles and the cylinder mechanism.
Step 4: Securing the Ælement Unit
This section details how to attach the main Ælement unit to the door, differentiating between the outside and inside components.
Step 5: Internal Mechanism Assembly
Diagrams show the assembly of internal components within the Ælement unit.
Step 6: Power Connection
The diagram indicates the use of a PZ2 screwdriver for securing components and shows the battery compartment.
Step 7: Battery Installation and Alignment
Instructions are provided for installing batteries (LR03 type) and securing the unit with a screw to maintain alignment.
Warning: Fasten with screw to keep it aligned.
Step 8: Cable Connections
This step details the connection of various cables:
- READER CABLE: Connects the reader.
- JUMPER: For specific configuration settings.
- WIRELESS CABLE*: (*Only available in AE9W model) For wireless communication.
- LOCK CABLE: Connects to the lock mechanism.
Step 9: Final Assembly
Diagrams 'a' and 'b' show the final steps of assembling the handles and securing the unit.
Step 10: Initial Programming
Crucial Instruction: AT THIS POINT DO NOT CLOSE THE DOOR. PROGRAM THE LOCK FIRST.

Use a Torx T10 tamper screwdriver for this step.
