Introduction
The Jablotron JA-110P PET is a bus-connected device for the JABLOTRON system, designed to detect human movement indoors. Unlike standard PIR motion detectors in the JABLOTRON 100 series, this detector features a modified detection characteristic and basic immunity to animals. It is designed to disregard the movement of small animals on the floor (up to approximately 25 kg and 40 cm in height). The detector operates with a pulse reaction and integrates into the system. Installation must be performed by a qualified technician with a valid certificate issued by an authorized distributor.
Important Note: The detector only eliminates the effects of animal movement on the floor based on its detection characteristics. It is not suitable for guarding areas where animals might move freely at higher levels.
Installation
The detector can be installed on a wall or in a room corner. When positioning the detector, ensure its field of view does not include objects that rapidly change temperature (e.g., electric heaters, gas appliances) or objects that move (e.g., curtains near a radiator, robot vacuums). While the detector is highly resistant to false alarms, avoid installing it in areas with intense air circulation (near fans, air conditioning, vents, or poorly sealed doors). There should be no obstructions within the detector's field of view that would block its view of the guarded area.
The recommended installation height for the detector is 2 meters, with a maximum height of 2.2 meters.
Mounting Procedure
- Open the detector cover by pressing the cover latch (5). Avoid touching the PIR sensor (11) inside, as it can be damaged.
- Remove the PCB; it is held by a tab (3).
- Drill holes for screws and the cable in the plastic base. The recommended installation height is 2 meters above the floor.
- Insert the bus cable and fix the plastic base to the wall using screws (vertically, with the cover latch pointing downwards).
- When connecting the detector to the bus, always disconnect the system power.
- Reinsert the printed circuit board (PCB) and connect the cables to the terminals (8).
Diagram Description (Figure 1 & 2):
- Figure 1 illustrates mounting holes: 1 for flat wall installation, 2 and 4 for corner installation. It also shows the PCB tab (3) and cover latch (5).
- Figure 2 shows the PCB with terminals: 6 (Red activation LED), 7 (Yellow fault LED), 8 (Bus terminals: +U, A, B, GND), 9 (Production code sticker), 10 (Cover tamper sensor), and 11 (PIR sensor).
System Registration
The detector can be registered into the system using the F-Link software.
- Open the F-Link software, select an unused position in the Devices tab, and click the Enroll button to enter enrollment mode.
- Click the Scan/Add new bus devices option, select the detector, and double-click to confirm. The yellow LED will turn off.
Additional Registration Methods:
- The detector can also be registered by entering its production code (found on sticker 9) into the F-Link software. All numbers under the barcode must be entered (e.g., 1400-00-0000-0001).
- The detector can be enrolled by pressing the cover tamper sensor (10).
- To comply with EN 50131-3, the cover latch (5) must be secured with the provided screw.
Detector Property Settings
In the F-Link software, navigate to the Devices tab and click the Internal settings button for the detector's position. This opens a dialog where you can configure settings such as disabling the red LED motion indication.
Detector Test
In Service mode, the detector's red LED will indicate every motion event, irrespective of the settings in the detector's properties. Individual detector activations can also be monitored in the Diagnostics tab of the F-Link software.
Detection Characteristics
The detector is equipped with a standard lens providing 90° coverage up to 12 meters. The detection pattern is illustrated in Figure 3.
In the white area of the diagram, the detector provides basic immunity to the movement of small animals weighing up to approximately 25 kg and with a maximum height of 40 cm. In the grey area of the diagram, standard detection applies.
Diagram Description (Figure 3):
The diagram shows a polar plot of the detection range. The outer edge represents a 90° angle and a 12-meter range. An inner arc indicates a 90° angle and a 7-meter range, defining the area of basic pet immunity. The recommended installation height is marked at 2m (maximum 2.2m), and the maximum pet height immunity is shown as 40cm.
