XD Microphone Quick Start Guide
Microphone Overview
The Audio Enhancement XD Microphone is a wireless microphone system designed for clear audio transmission.
Key Components and Controls:
- Up/Down: Remote Volume controls for adjusting audio levels.
- Alert switch: Used for managing alerts.
- Battery and power status indicator: Displays the current battery charge and power status of the microphone.
- SELECT button: Allows adjustment, change, and selection of the audio source. Available sources are OWN, OTHER, or LINE.
- Battery charging status: An indicator showing the progress of battery charging.
- Source Indicator (OWN, OTHER, LINE): Illuminates to show which audio source is currently selected.
- REC button: Starts and stops audio recordings.
- PWR/MUTE button: Powers the microphone on/off and activates/deactivates the mute function.
- Push to talk: A button that activates the microphone for speaking when pressed.
- Talk slide switch / Audio mute control: A manual switch for controlling audio output or muting the microphone.
Teacher Microphone Linking
Step 1: Initiate Linking on Amplifier
With the microphone powered off, press the 'Link' button located on the front or side of the BEAM amplifier. Observe for a blinking yellow LED, indicating the amplifier is ready to link.
Step 2: Initiate Linking on Microphone
With the microphone powered off, press and hold the 'REC' button. Immediately after, press and hold the 'PWR' button until the microphone successfully links with the amplifier.
Step 3: Confirmation of Linking
A successful microphone link will be confirmed by an audible beep emitted through the sound system. Additionally, an extra green LED will illuminate on the front panel of the amplifier.
Student Microphone Linking
Step 1: Initiate Linking on Microphone
Press and hold the 'PWR LINK' button situated on the back of the XD Student Microphone.
Step 2: Activate Talk Function
While continuing to hold the 'PWR LINK' button, use your thumb to slide the 'TALK' button upwards into the 'on' position. Successful linking is indicated by an audible beep and the illumination of an additional green LED.
Linking the Media Channel
- The microphone cannot be linked to the Media channel unless the MIC 1 and MIC 2 channels are activated.
- Ensure the microphone intended for linking, whether it's the Teacher or Student model, is turned off before proceeding.
- Verify that both Channel 1 and Channel 2 microphones are powered on and properly connected to the amplifier.
- Follow the specific linking instructions provided in the XD Teacher or XD Student Microphone Linking sections.
- After approximately 10 seconds, a beep should be heard, and the amplifier's LINK LED will display a solid yellow light, confirming successful media channel linking.
Charging Your XD Microphone
Connection and Charging Process
- Connect the Micro-USB plug from the charger to the DC input terminal of the microphone. Upon connection, the charge indicator (typically red) will light up, signifying that charging is in progress.
- The microphone is fully charged when the charge indicator ceases blinking. If the charge indicator blinks rapidly, it may indicate that the Micro-USB cable is not fully inserted.
REMINDER: To ensure optimal functionality and longevity, it is recommended to charge the microphone at the end of each day.
XD Teacher Microphone Volume Control
Source Selection
Press the 'SELECT' button to choose the audio source you wish to control. An illuminated LED will indicate the currently selected source. 'OWN' provides control over the microphone currently in use. 'OTHER' allows control of a second linked microphone. The 'LINE' input is not utilized within this system.
Volume Adjustment
Use the up arrow button to increase the volume level for the selected source, and the down arrow button to decrease it.
