PROSCEND 108M Ultra-Speed VDSL2 Ethernet Extender
Introduction
Proscend compact VDSL2 Extender 108M supports VDSL2 profile 35b/30a/17a with a remarkable aggregated bandwidth of over 300Mbps. It delivers fiber optic-like speeds on existing copper infrastructure, enabling a good alternative in place where fiber is not economical to deploy. The 108M is equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port (RJ45 connector) and one VDSL2 port (RJ45 connector) in the plastic enclosure for easy installation. The symmetric configuration can be applied as a long-reach Ethernet connection up to 3,000 meters, while an Asymmetric configuration can be used for other services like video streaming or IP surveillance services which require high traffic flow in a uni-direction configuration.
To simplify the installation and powering of multiple 108Ms at the network side, Proscend offers the MSH17 featuring a 2U-height, 19-inch shelf with 17 slots and centralized AC power input, thus customers can make good use of AC power source and shelf space in a 19-inch rack.

Applications
The application diagram illustrates a network setup where an Ethernet Network connects to a Gigabit Ethernet port. This port links to the MSH17 shelf, which has 17 slots designed for 108M units. From the MSH17, multiple 108M units are connected via 2-wire UTP cables, enabling Ethernet extension up to 1.5km to Gigabit Ethernet devices.
