Charging Instructions

Solar Maintenance Chargers are designed to maintain a charged battery (≥12V), NOT for charging a deeply discharged battery.

  1. Electrolyte Level Check: Prior to charging, check the electrolyte level. If low, add demineralised water to the correct level as indicated on the battery.
  2. Voltage Check: Before connecting, ensure the battery voltage is adequate to receive charge. The charger will not charge from zero volts. Refer to Technical Specifications for voltage requirements.
  3. Connect SCA Solar Maintenance Charger to Battery: Connect the charger to the battery using the 12V battery clamps. DO NOT start the vehicle while the charger is connected. Electrical surges may damage the charger.
