Installing the Dash Cam

Follow these steps for installation:

  1. Ensure the windscreen is clean and free of debris. Attach the suction cup to the windscreen and lock it into position with the lever.
  2. Position the device where vision is not blocked, preferably close to the rear-view mirror. Avoid installing the device on or near an airbag.
  3. Insert a Micro SD card into the Dash Cam.
  4. Connect the Mini USB end of the power cord to the Mini USB interface/charging point of the Dash Cam. Connect the USB charging end of the cable into the USB socket adapter and place the adapter into the vehicle's 12V power socket.
  5. Adjust the mounting bracket and rotate the camera to get the best view. Ensure approximately 1/4 of the vehicle's bonnet is visible from the bottom of the screen for alignment.
  6. Turn the vehicle's ignition to ON. The Dash Cam will power on and start recording automatically, indicated by an audible tone.
  7. A blue LED will start flashing when recording has started. When the blue LED is solid, the Dash Cam is in standby mode.
  8. The Dash Cam requires power from the charging adapter to function. When power is removed or turned off, the Dash Cam saves the current file and turns off.

Maintenance

Maintaining the Battery:

To prolong battery life, charge the Dash Cam on a 5-volt home charger for 2-3 hours at least once a week with the unit turned off. If the car is not used daily, or for cars used for less than 1 hour daily, charge the Dash Cam once every 3 weeks for 2-3 hours. It is not recommended to power the Dash Cam solely by its battery, as it only runs for 10-15 minutes. Always use the provided charger. The internal battery is for backing up time/date and saving data.

Formatting Card:

It is advisable to format the Micro SD card weekly, especially if the G-sensor is active, as locked footage can fill the card and stop recording. Formatting the card is prompted each time the Micro SD card is removed and re-inserted. The Dash Cam will not record until formatted.

Resetting Dash Cam:

Insert a fine-point paper clip into the reset hole on the side of the unit.
