Riding Your Max
FAILURE TO FOLLOW SAFETY PRECAUTIONS CAN LEAD TO DAMAGE, VOID WARRANTY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, AND DEATH.
Familiarize yourself with operating procedures before use.
Operating Your Device
- Ensure the Max is fully charged before initial use.
- Stand behind the device, place one foot on the foot mat. Keep weight on the ground foot.
- Shift weight to the foot on the device, then step on evenly with the second foot. (Diagram shows stepping on process).
? NOTES: Stay relaxed, step on quickly, confidently, and evenly. Imagine climbing stairs. Look up once feet are even. Vibration/spinning on one mat is normal if weight is applied to only one.
Find your center of gravity. Correct weight distribution on foot mats and a level center of gravity allow stable standing. It takes 3-5 minutes to get comfortable. A spotter can help.
The Max is intuitive; it senses motion. Focus on your desired direction to move. Your center of gravity determines movement, acceleration, deceleration, and stopping. Tilt your center of gravity in the direction you wish to move. (Diagram shows weight shift for movement).
To turn, focus on the direction and stay relaxed.
⚠️ WARNING: Do not turn sharply or at high speeds to avoid danger. Do not turn or ride quickly along slopes, as it may cause injury.
As you get comfortable, maneuvering becomes easier. At higher speeds, shift weight to overcome centrifugal force. Bend knees on bumps/uneven surfaces, then dismount and carry to a safe surface.
Dismounting Your Device
Dismounting can be easy but incorrect steps may cause falls. To dismount: from a stopped position, lift one leg, set foot back on the ground (STEPPING BACK), then step off completely. (Diagram shows dismounting process).
⚠️ WARNING: Lift your leg completely off the foot mat to clear the device when stepping back to dismount. Failure to do so may send the Max into a tailspin.
Weight and Speed Limitations
- Maximum Weight: 220 lbs
- Minimum Weight: 44 lbs
- Maximum Speed: Up to 7 mph
Operating Range
The Max can travel up to 6 miles on a full charge in ideal conditions. Factors affecting range include:
- Terrain: Highest range on smooth, flat surfaces. Uphill or rough terrain reduces distance.
- Weight: Lighter users have further range.
- Ambient Temperature: Ride and store under recommended temperatures for better distance, battery life, and performance.
- Speed and Riding Style: Moderate, consistent speed maximizes distance. High speeds, frequent starts/stops, idling, and acceleration/deceleration reduce distance.
⚠️ WARNING: Overweight exertion may increase injury or product damage risk.
? NOTES: To prevent injury, the Max will beep and tilt the rider back slowly when max speed is reached.
Balance & Calibration
If your Max is unbalanced, vibrating, or not turning properly, follow these calibration steps:
- Place the Max on a flat, horizontal surface (floor or table). Foot mats should be even and not tilted. Ensure charger is unplugged and board is off.
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 15 seconds. The scooter will turn on, lighting the battery indicator.
- Turn the board off, then turn it back on (press power button twice). Calibration is now complete.
Safety Alerts
If a system error or illegal operation occurs, the device will prompt the user. The Running Indicator Light will turn RED, and a beep sound will alert you to cease operation, potentially causing the device to stop suddenly.
Common occurrences triggering Safety Alerts:
- Unsafe riding surfaces (uneven, too steep, unsafe).
- Platform tilted more than 10 degrees forward or backward when stepped on.
- Battery voltage is too low.
- Device is still charging.
- Platform self-initiates tilt due to excess speed during operation.
- Overheating or motor temperature is too high.
- Device rocking back and forth for over 30 seconds.
- System enters protection mode: alarm indicator lights up, board vibrates (occurs when battery is low, causing abrupt stop).
- Platform tilted forward/backward > 10 degrees: Max powers off and stops suddenly, risking loss of balance or falls.
- Tires blocked: Device stops after 2 seconds.
- Battery level depleted below protection mode: Device engine powers off and stops after 15 seconds.
- Sustaining high discharge current (e.g., driving up a steep slope for a long period): Engine powers off and stops after 15 seconds.
⚠️ WARNING: When the Max turns off during a Safety Alert, all operations halt. Do not continue riding. Turn Max off and back on to unlock from a Safety Lock.
Charging Your Max
Charging the Device
- Ensure the charging port is clean and dry, with no dust or debris.
- Plug the charger into a grounded wall outlet. The charger's indicator light will be green.
- Connect the cable with the power supply (100V ~ 240V; 50/60 Hz).
