Riding Your Blast

FAILURE TO FOLLOW SAFETY PRECAUTIONS CAN LEAD TO DAMAGE TO YOUR BLAST, VOID YOUR MANUFACTURER WARRANTY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, AND DEATH.

Familiarize yourself with operating procedures before use. For charging instructions, refer to the 'CHARGING YOUR BLAST' section.

Operating Your Blast

Ensure the Blast is fully charged before initial use. Stand directly behind your Blast and place one foot on the corresponding foot mat. Keep weight on the foot on the ground; otherwise, the Blast may move or vibrate, making it difficult to step on evenly with the other foot. When ready, shift weight to the foot on the Blast and step on with your second foot quickly and evenly.

? NOTES: Stay relaxed and step on quickly, confidently, and evenly. Imagine climbing stairs, one foot, then the other. Look up once your feet are even. The Blast may vibrate or spin if weight/pressure is applied to only one foot mat; this is normal.

Find your center of gravity. Correct weight distribution allows you to stand as if on the ground. It takes approximately 3-5 minutes to get comfortable standing and maintaining balance. A spotter can help you feel more secure. The Blast is intuitive; anxiety about stepping on can cause panic and unwanted movement.

To move in your desired direction, focus on that direction. Thinking about movement shifts your center of gravity, propelling you. Your center of gravity dictates movement, acceleration, deceleration, and stopping. Tilt your center of gravity in the direction you wish to move.

To turn, focus on the desired direction and stay relaxed.

⚠️ WARNING: Do not turn sharply or at high speeds to avoid danger. Do not turn or ride quickly along slopes, as it may cause injury.

As you become comfortable, maneuvering becomes easier. At higher speeds, shift weight to overcome centrifugal force. Bend your knees for bumps or uneven surfaces, then dismount and carry your Blast to a safe surface.

Diagrams illustrate movement: [Diagram showing stepping onto the hoverboard, then balancing, then moving forward/backward]. Text labels below diagrams: Move Backward, Stop, Move Forward.

Dismounting Your Blast

Dismounting can be simple, but incorrect dismounts can cause falls. To dismount properly from a stopped position, lift one leg and place your foot back on the ground (STEPPING BACK). Then step off completely.

⚠️ WARNING: Lift your feet completely off the foot mat to clear the Blast when stepping back to dismount. Failure to do so may cause the Blast to spin.

Weight and Speed Limitations

Speed and weight limits are for your safety. Do not exceed these limits:

  • Maximum Weight: 160 lbs
  • Minimum Weight: 44 lbs
  • Maximum Speed: Up to 7 mph

Operating Range

The Blast can travel up to 3 miles on a full charge in ideal conditions. Factors affecting operating range include:

  • Terrain: Riding distance is greatest on smooth, flat surfaces. Uphill or rough terrain reduces distance.
  • Weight: Lighter users generally have greater range.
  • Ambient temperature: Ride and store the Blast within recommended temperatures for better range, battery life, and performance.
  • Speed and Riding Style: Moderate, consistent speed maximizes distance. High speeds, frequent starts/stops, idling, and frequent acceleration/deceleration decrease overall distance.

⚠️ WARNING: Overweight exertion on the Blast may increase the possibility of injury or product damage.

? NOTES: To prevent injury, the Blast will beep and tilt the rider back slowly when maximum speed is reached.

Balance & Calibration

If your Blast is unbalanced, vibrating, or not turning properly, follow these calibration steps:

  1. Place the Blast on a flat, horizontal surface. Foot mats should be even and not tilted. Ensure the charger is unplugged and the board is off.
  2. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds. The scooter will turn on, and the battery indicator will light up.
  3. Release the ON/OFF button after the light flashes 5 times consecutively.
  4. Turn the board off, then turn it back on. Calibration is now complete.

Safety Alerts

If a system error or improper operation occurs, the Blast will alert the user. The Running Indicator Light will turn RED, and a beep sound will alert you to take precaution and cease operation, potentially causing the device to stop suddenly.

These alerts should not be ignored. Take appropriate action to correct any operation failures or errors.

Common occurrences triggering Safety Alerts include:

  • Unsafe riding surfaces (uneven, too steep, unsafe, etc.).
  • Stepping on the Blast when the platform is tilted more than 10 degrees forward or backward.
  • Battery voltage is too low.
  • The Blast is still charging.
  • The platform self-tilting due to excess speed during operation.
  • Overheating or high motor temperature.
  • The Blast rocking back and forth for over 30 seconds.
  • System entering protection mode (alarm indicator lights up, board vibrates), typically when the battery is low.
  • Platform tilted forward or backward more than 10 degrees, causing the Blast to power off suddenly, potentially leading to loss of balance or falls.
  • Blocked tires (one or both) will cause the Blast to stop after 5 seconds.
  • When battery level depletes below protection mode, stop using the Blast within 15 seconds.
  • During high discharge current use (e.g., steep slope for a long period), the Blast will alert and stop within 15 seconds.

⚠️ WARNING: When the Blast turns off during a Safety Alert, all operation systems halt. Do not continue riding. Turn your Blast off, then on again, and check calibration.

Charging Your Blast

Charging the Blast

Ensure the charging port is clean and dry, free of dust, debris, or dirt.

  • Plug the charger into a grounded wall outlet. The charging indicator light ON THE CHARGER will be green.
  • Connect the cable to the power supply (100V ~ 240V; 50/60 Hz).
  • Align and connect the 3-pin charging cable into the charging port of the Blast. DO NOT FORCE THE CHARGER INTO THE CHARGE PORT, AS THIS MAY CAUSE PRONGS TO BREAK OFF OR PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE CHARGE PORT.
  • Once attached, the charging indicator light ON THE CHARGER should change to RED, indicating charging.
  • When the RED indicator light on your charger turns GREEN, the Blast is fully charged.
  • A full charge may take up to 5 hours. A yellow flashing light on the scooter also indicates charging. Do not charge for more than 7.5 hours.
  • After fully charging, unplug the charger from your Blast and the power outlet.
