Modbus RTU Communication Structure
Default settings for Modbus RTU communication are: Baud rate 9600, Stop bit: 1, Parity: NONE. Default Slave ID is 88.
Data is stored in holding registers:
- Temperature: Address 2 (40003)
- Humidity: Address 3 (40004)
- Carbon Dioxide: Address 4 (40005)
Modbus RTU Register Map
Register Address | Parameter | Read/Write | Default Value | Min. Value | Max. Value |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
0 (40001) | Slave ID | R/W | 88 | 1 | 247 |
1 (40002) | Baud Rate | R/W | 3 | 0 | 8 |
2 (40003) | Temperature Value | R | - | - | - |
3 (40004) | Humidity Value | R | - | - | - |
4 (40005) | CO₂ Value | R | - | - | - |
Slave ID and Baud Rate can be changed via Modbus communication by writing to registers 0 (40001) and 1 (40002) respectively. The table below shows the Baud Rate values:
Value | Baud Rate |
---|---|
0 | 1200 |
1 | 2400 |
2 | 4800 |
3 | 9600 |
4 | 14400 |
5 | 19200 |
6 | 38400 |
7 | 57600 |
8 | 115200 |
To reset Slave ID and Baud Rate to default values, press and hold the "Calibration" button. Wait until the Status (green) LED turns off (approx. 30 seconds), then release the button.
LED Meanings
Indicator | State | Meaning |
---|---|---|
Power (Red) | On | No Energy (Error) |
Off | Normal Operating | |
Status (Green) | On | Measurement Preparation |
Off | Normal Measurement |
Before Calibration
- The product is sold calibrated. Do not calibrate unless necessary.
- Perform calibration only if the product is confirmed to be measuring incorrectly.
- Only Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) can be calibrated.
- Compare the device's measurement with another calibrated device or in a clean, open-air environment.
- Calibration is recommended if the device measures values outside the 350 ppm - 450 ppm range in clean, open air.
Calibration
- Select a clean, open area free from CO₂ sources for calibration.
- The CO₂ level in clean, open air typically ranges between 350 ppm and 450 ppm. During calibration, the device will set this value to 400 ppm.
- When the "Calibration" button is pressed, the Status (green) LED will blink. Release the button when the LED is fully lit (approximately 10 seconds) to start the calibration process. The Status LED will then blink rapidly, indicating the process is underway. Calibration is complete when the blinking stops.
