Installation Steps
Measure and Prepare the Sweep
Measure the door's butt face and cut the metal retainer to match. Leave gasketing slightly long and peen the ends to hold it in place.
Close the Door
Use a self-closing mechanism (or manually) to fully close the door before positioning the sweep.
Position the Sweep
Hold the sweep against the butt face of the closed door. Position it so it just touches the floor or the sloped bevel of the threshold it will seal against.
Attach the Sweep
Using the sheet metal screws provided, fasten the sweep to the door. Insert screws through the center of the holes in the metal retainer. Do not fully tighten the screws until all gasketing is in place.
Final Check
Open and close the door several times to confirm that the installed part does not interfere with self-closing or latching. Adjust as needed to ensure smooth operation.
