Installation Instructions

1.1 Post-installed fastening in concrete (Cracked/Uncracked, Seismic C1/C2)

This method applies to post-installed fastening in cracked or uncracked concrete, suitable for Seismic Performance Category C1 and C2, as per ETA-15/0352.

  • Step 1: Drill the hole to the specified diameter and depth.
  • Step 2a, 2b, 2c: Insert the anchor into the drilled hole.
  • Step 3: Tighten the anchor using a torque wrench to the required embedment depth (h₁ + 3x d₀) and diameter (dK).
  • Step 4: Ensure the torque applied does not exceed the maximum permissible torque (T_imp, max).
  • Step 5: Final assembly of the fixture.

1.2 Drilling and Cleaning

  • Step 1: Drill the hole to the specified diameter and depth.
  • Step 2: Thoroughly clean the borehole using a brush and blower.
  • Step 3: Insert the anchor, ensuring it is positioned no more than 10 mm from the surface and 20 mm from the edge. The maximum fixture thickness is denoted as ≤ t_fix, max.

1.3 Fastening

  • Step 1: Place the fixture onto the anchor.
  • Step 2: Tighten the anchor to the maximum fixture thickness (≤ t_fix, max).

2.0 Fastening with Anchor

  • Step 1: Drill the hole.
  • Step 2: Clean the borehole.
  • Step 3: Insert the anchor to the specified embedment depth (h₁ + 3x d₀).
  • Step 4: Tighten the anchor to the maximum permissible torque (T_imp, max).
  • Step 5: Check for correct installation using the Fischer Universal Plug (FUP).
  • Step 6: Final check of the installation.

3.0 Connector for Strengthening Concrete Structures

This section describes the use of the anchor as a connector for strengthening existing concrete structures via concrete overlay, as per ETA-20/0321.

  • Step 1: Drill the hole.
  • Step 2a, 2b, 2c: Insert the anchor.
  • Step 3: Tighten the anchor to the specified embedment depth (h₁ + 3x d₀).
  • Step 4: Ensure the torque applied does not exceed the maximum permissible torque (T_imp, max).
  • Step 5: Final assembly.

4.1 Seismic Performance for Concrete

This illustrates the process for seismic performance applications in concrete.

  • Step 1: Drill the hole.
  • Step 2: Insert the anchor.
  • Step 3a: Tighten to maximum permissible torque (T_imp, max).
  • Step 3b: Tighten to maximum installation torque (max T_inst).
  • Step 4: Final check.

4.2 Screw Anchors for Masonry

This describes the installation of screw anchors for use in masonry bricks (clay, calcium silicate, solid brick, hollow brick), as per ETA-20/0134.

  • Step 1a, 1b: Drill the hole.
  • Step 2: Insert the anchor.
  • Step 3: Tighten the anchor, ensuring it is positioned no more than 10 mm from the surface and 20 mm from the edge, with a maximum fixture thickness (≤ t_fix, max).
  • Step 4: Final check.
