Installation Instructions
Follow these steps for correct installation. Refer to the pictograms for visual guidance.
Cartridge Preparation
- Remove the cap by turning it counter-clockwise and pulling it off.
- Attach the static mixer to the cartridge and lock it by turning it clockwise. Ensure the spiral mixer is clearly visible. Never use without a static mixer.
- Place the cartridge into the dispenser.
- Dispense approximately 10 cm (4 inches) of mortar until it appears uniformly grey. Discard any non-grey material as it will not cure.
- Ensure the substrate temperature is between 5°C (41°F) and 40°C (104°F). The cartridge temperature should be at least 5°C (41°F).
- After use, leave the static mixer attached to the cartridge.
Important: If the working time is exceeded, use a new static mixer. Remove any encrusted material from the cartridge opening if necessary.
Hole Preparation
- Drill the hole using a hammer drill. Observe the correct hole diameter and depth as specified in the tables.
- Cleaning the Hole: Standing water must be completely removed before cleaning. Blow out the hole with compressed air (≥ 6 bar / 87 psi) four times. Brush the hole four times, starting from the bottom. Blow out again with compressed air four times. For holes with d0 < 18 mm, a hand pump can be used. Clean brushes regularly.
- For deep holes (> 150 mm): Use an extension tube for mortar application.
Mortar Application and Anchor Insertion
- Fill approximately 2/3 of the hole with mortar, starting from the bottom. Observe the working time.
- Ensure the anchoring element is straight and free from oil or contaminants. Mark the correct embedment depth on the anchor.
- Press the anchoring element straight into the hole until it reaches the bottom, turning it slightly.
- Excess mortar should emerge from the mouth of the hole.
- For overhead or inclined installations, use appropriate injection adapters and wedges to support the anchor during curing. Use adapters for holes deeper than 250 mm or with diameters ≥ 30 mm.
Curing and Load Application
- Do not disturb the anchoring element until the prescribed curing time has elapsed.
- Do not apply load or installation torque until curing is complete. Refer to Table III for curing times.
- Apply the specified installation torque (Tinst) as per Table II.
Installation Pictograms Summary
The following steps are illustrated:
- Step 1: Drill hole.
- Step 2a/2b/2c/2d: Hole cleaning (blowing, brushing, water removal). Note specific conditions like d0 ≤ 16 mm, h0 ≤ 12 d, and pressure requirements (6 bar).
- Step 1b/1c/1d: Warning about noise, dust, and the need for cleaning equipment.
- Step 3a/3b/3c/3d: Correct (✓) vs. Incorrect (❌) hole cleaning and mortar application.
- Step 4: Attaching anchor to dispenser/cartridge.
- Step 5: Inserting anchor into the hole.
- Step 6a/6b/6c: Correct (✓) vs. Incorrect (❌) mortar application and anchor insertion.
- Step 7: Rotating the anchor during insertion.
- Step 8: Final insertion and checking embedment depth.
- Step 9: Curing time (tcure) indicated.
- Step 10: Applying installation torque (max. Tinst).
- Step 11: Final installed anchor.
