Installation and Setup

Follow these steps to install and prepare your water timer:

Step 1: Check the Water Inlet Filter

The filter prevents impurities from entering and blocking the valve. Its rubber ring seals the connection to avoid leaks. Ensure it is installed correctly.

Diagram shows a water inlet filter with a rubber ring for sealing connections. It prevents impurities from entering and blocking the valve.

✔️ Correct installation: Filter and seal in place.

Incorrect installation: Leaks or filter dislodged.

Step 2: Insert the Batteries Correctly

Requires 2 new 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries (not included).

Diagram shows a battery compartment with '+' and '-' terminals indicated. Two 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries should be inserted correctly. The compartment should be closed tightly for waterproofing.

Insert batteries according to polarity markings (+ and -).

Tightly close the battery compartment to ensure waterproofing.

Step 3: Install the Timer on the Faucet

Wrap Teflon tape around the threads of the faucet or hose to ensure no water leaks.

Diagram illustrates wrapping Teflon tape around faucet threads to prevent leaks. The timer is then screwed onto the faucet hand-tight. The display should be vertical to prevent rainwater infiltration.

Keep the faucet off and install the timer onto it (hand-tight only).

Ensure the water inlet is higher than all water outlets.

The display should be as vertical as possible to the ground to prevent rainwater infiltration.

✔️ Wrap Teflon tape to prevent leaks.

Leaks may occur without proper sealing.

Step 4: Activate the Timer Valve Before Use

This step primes the valve and checks its function.

Diagram shows the timer's control panel with a dial, 'MANUAL' button, and 'OK' button. To activate the valve, turn the dial to 'ON', press and hold 'MANUAL', then press 'OK' when the display flashes. The valve opens for 5 seconds. Repeat 3-5 times. For 2-zone timers, switch zones using the 'ZONE' button.

Keep the faucet off and turn the dial to "ON".

Press and hold the "MANUAL" button to enter manual watering mode.

When the display flashes, immediately press the "OK" button to open the valve.

After hearing a "click" or approximately 5 seconds, turn the dial to "OFF" to close the valve.

Repeat this operation 3-5 times.

If your timer has 2 zone outlets (e.g., ITV205), repeat the above for each zone separately by pressing the "ZONE" button to switch between zones.

▶️ Manual watering activation.

Step 5: Check for Water Leaks Before Use

Ensure all connections are secure and the timer is functioning correctly.

Diagram shows water flowing from the timer outlet. Checks should be made for leaks at the water inlet and at the outlet to ensure water flows correctly when the valve is opened or closed.

Keep away from the timer's water outlet to avoid splashing water.

Turn on the faucet gently.

Check whether the water inlet is leaking.

Repeat Step 4 to check whether water flows out or closes properly when the valve is opened or closed.

✔️ Check for leaks at the inlet.

✔️ Verify water flow and valve operation.

Address any leaks or improper valve function.

Step 6: Congratulations!

You have completed the installation of your RainPoint water timer. Please refer to the user manual to start programming your watering schedule.
