Electrical Requirements
Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet. Do not remove ground prong. Do not use an adapter. Do not use an extension cord. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock.
Before moving your refrigerator into its final location, ensure you have the proper electrical connection. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person. Do not use a cord with cracks or abrasion damage.
Recommended Grounding Method
A 115 V, 60 Hz, AC only, 15A or 20A fused, grounded electrical supply is required. It is recommended that a separate circuit serving only your refrigerator be provided. Use an outlet that cannot be turned off by a switch. Do not use an extension cord.
NOTE: Before performing any installation, cleaning, or light bulb replacement, turn the refrigerator to Off. Disconnect the refrigerator from the electrical source. Reconnect and reset temperature controls when finished. Refer to the "Using the Controls" section in the Quick Start Guide.
Location Requirements
Keep flammable materials and vapors, such as gasoline, away from the appliance. Use nonflammable cleaner. Failure to do so can result in death, explosion, or fire.
IMPORTANT: This refrigerator is designed for indoor and covered indoor garage use only. Garage-ready applicability varies by model; consult the freezer knob for confirmation.
Ventilation: To ensure proper ventilation, allow 1/2" (1.25 cm) of space on each side. Allow 1 1/2" (3.81 cm) of space between overhead cabinets and the refrigerator top. Allow at least 1" (2.54 cm) between the back of the cabinet and the wall. If your refrigerator has an ice maker, allow extra space at the back for water line connections.
A diagram shows recommended clearances for the refrigerator. It indicates 1 1/2 inches (3.81 cm) of space above the unit, 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) of space on each side, and at least 1 inch (2.54 cm) of space behind the unit for proper ventilation and operation.
NOTE: This refrigerator is designed for use in locations with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 55°F (13°C) to a maximum of 110°F (43°C). The preferred ambient temperature range for optimal performance (reducing electricity usage and improving cooling) is between 60°F (15.6°C) and 90°F (32°C). It is recommended not to install the refrigerator near a heat source, such as an oven or radiator.
