Installation Clearances
The following clearances are recommended for recessed area or closet installation:
- Back Clearance: 3 inches (76 mm)
- Side Clearance (Recommended): 5 inches (126 mm) for noise reduction.
- Side Clearance (Minimum for closet door ventilation): 1 inch (25 mm) on sides, with 1 inch (25 mm) top and bottom air openings in the closet door.
- Total Recommended Clearance: 20 inches (508 mm) around the washer.
Closet Door Ventilation Requirements:
- Top air opening: 48 square inches (310 cm²)
- Bottom air opening: 24 square inches (155 cm²)
Notes:
- All washers should have 20 inches (508 mm) clearance.
- This washer has been tested for installation with spacing of 0 mm clearance on the sides.
- Consider allowing more space for ease of installation and servicing, and spacing for companion appliances and clearances for walls, doors, and floor moldings.
- Add spacing of 1 inch (25 mm) on all sides of washer to reduce noise transfer.
- If a closet door or louvered door is installed, top and bottom air openings in the door are required.
