General Assembly Advice

Follow all instructions carefully. Ensure you have all parts before starting. If you encounter any difficulties or have questions, please refer to IKEA for assistance.

Assembly Steps

Step 1: Attach Casters

Insert the 5 casters (10095995 / 10109505) into the holes at the end of the chair base. Push firmly until they click into place. Ensure they are securely attached.

⚠️ Ensure casters are fully inserted.

Step 2: Insert Gas Lift

Place the gas lift cylinder into the central hole of the chair base. Ensure the wider end is at the bottom.

♻️ Dispose of any packaging responsibly.

Step 3: Place Seat Assembly on Gas Lift

Carefully align the seat mechanism (attached to the seat cushion in later steps) with the top of the gas lift cylinder and lower it into place.

Step 4: Attach Mechanism to Seat

Position the mechanism part (121030) onto the underside of the seat cushion. Use 4x bolts M6x16 (152546 / 152545) and the hex key (124345) to secure it. Note: Do not use bolts M6x12 (122900 / 159026) for this step.

Step 5: Attach Mechanism Cover

Place the mechanism cover over the attached mechanism. Press down until it clicks into place on all sides.

Step 6: Attach Backrest to Seat Mechanism

Align the backrest with the rear of the seat mechanism. Use 4x bolts M6x12 (122900 / 159026) and the hex key (124345) to secure the backrest. Ensure the arrow on the mechanism part points upwards.

Step 7: Attach Armrests to Seat

Align the armrests with the designated mounting points on the underside of the seat. Insert the armrests and secure them.

Step 8: Attach Armrests to Backrest

Connect the armrests to the sides of the backrest. Use 4x bolts M8x25 (10113580 / 10113616) and the hex key (124345) to fasten them securely.

Step 9: Connect Seat Assembly to Base

With assistance, carefully place the assembled seat and backrest unit onto the gas lift cylinder attached to the chair base.

Step 10: Adjust Chair Settings

Sit on the chair. Use the levers and controls to adjust seat height (⬆️⬇️) and tilt/rocking functions (↔️).

Important Safety Information

⚠️ Warning! Only trained personnel may replace or repair seat height adjustment components with energy accumulators.

Seat Height Adjustment

Use the lever under the seat to adjust the height. Press the lever up to raise the seat, and sit down to lower it.

Backrest Tilt and Lock

The backrest can be tilted. Use the mechanism to lock the backrest in your desired position or allow it to rock.

Armrest Adjustments

Armrests can typically be adjusted in height, width, and depth.

Depth: Push or pull the armrest pad forward or backward.

Seat Depth Adjustment

The seat depth can be adjusted by sliding the seat forward or backward.

Lumbar Support Adjustment

The lumbar support can be adjusted vertically to provide optimal back support.

Safety Castors

Our chairs are equipped with safety castors that automatically brake when no one is sitting in the chair. This prevents the chair from rolling away when you stand up, ensuring it remains in place and is always found where you left it.

Seat Cover Replacement/Cleaning

This section provides instructions for removing and replacing the seat cover, and potentially cleaning.

Step 1: Remove Seat Cushion

Lift the seat cushion off the chair mechanism.

Step 2: Detach Seat Cover

Carefully detach the seat cover from the seat cushion. This may involve unzipping, unclipping, or releasing fasteners.

Step 3: Detach Armrests (if applicable for cover removal)

If necessary for cover access, detach the armrests. This may involve unscrewing bolts.

Requires 2x bolts per armrest.

Step 4: Detach Seat Cushion Parts

Further disassemble the seat cushion if required to access the cover.

Requires 2x parts.

Step 5: Attach New/Cleaned Seat Cushion Parts

Reassemble the seat cushion parts, ensuring they are correctly aligned.

Requires 2x parts.

Step 6: Attach Armrests

Reattach the armrests to the chair base or mechanism.

Requires 2x bolts per armrest.

Step 7: Attach Seat Cushion

Place the seat cushion back onto the chair mechanism. Ensure it is correctly oriented and secured.

Step 8: Place Seat Assembly onto Base

Place the fully assembled seat and backrest unit onto the gas lift cylinder on the chair base.
