Assembly Instructions

General Information & Tips

Always follow the assembly instructions carefully. Assemble on a flat, protected surface to avoid damage. If you encounter any issues or have questions, please refer to IKEA for assistance.

Step 1: Attach Casters

Insert the five casters into the legs of the chair base. Push each caster firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure correct insertion as indicated by the diagram (a green checkmark symbol would indicate correct, a red cross indicates incorrect).

Step 2: Prepare Gas Lift

Remove the protective cap from the gas lift. Dispose of the cap responsibly, preferably in a recycling bin ♻️.

Step 3: Attach Gas Lift to Base

Insert the gas lift into the central opening of the chair base. Ensure it is seated correctly.

Step 4: Attach Mechanism to Seat

Align the seat mechanism with the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the seat. Use the Allen key (124345) and four screws (152546/152545) to secure the mechanism. Tighten all screws firmly.

Step 5: Attach Seat Cover

Place the plastic seat cover over the mechanism and press down firmly until it clicks into place, securing the mechanism.

Step 6: Attach Backrest Support

Align the backrest support bar with the corresponding mounting points on the seat mechanism. Use the Allen key (124345) and four screws (122900/159026) to attach the support. Tighten all screws firmly.

Step 7: Attach Armrests

Slide the armrests into the designated slots on the sides of the seat base. Ensure they are fully inserted and aligned.

Step 8: Secure Armrests

Use the Allen key (124345) and two screws (10113580/10113616) for each armrest to secure them to the seat base. Tighten all screws firmly.

Step 9: Mount Seat Assembly to Base

Carefully lift the assembled seat and place it onto the gas lift. It is recommended to have assistance for this step.

Step 10: Adjust Seat Height

Sit on the chair. To adjust the seat height, pull the lever located under the seat upwards ⬆️. Lower the seat by applying downward pressure while holding the lever.

Important Safety Information

⚠️ Warning: The height adjustment devices using energy accumulation mechanisms may only be replaced or repaired by qualified personnel.

Chair Adjustments

This chair offers various adjustments for comfort:

Seat Height: Use the lever under the seat to raise or lower the seat height ⬆️ ⬇️.
Backrest Tilt: A lever or knob (often located under the seat) allows you to tilt the backrest forward or backward ↩️ ↪️. Some models may have a lock mechanism ?.
Armrest Height: Adjust the height of the armrests by pressing a button or using a lever on the armrest support ⬆️ ⬇️.
Armrest Width/Angle: Some armrests can be adjusted inwards or outwards ↔️, or pivoted ?.
Seat Depth: The seat depth can often be adjusted by sliding the seat forward or backward ➡️ ⬅️.
Backrest Height: The backrest height may be adjustable via a mechanism at the rear ⬆️ ⬇️.

Safety Wheels

The chair is equipped with safety wheels. These wheels automatically engage a brake when no one is seated, preventing the chair from rolling away unintentionally. This ensures the chair remains in place when you stand up and is found where it was left.

Seat Cover Replacement/Cleaning

Instructions are provided for replacing or cleaning the seat cover. This typically involves removing the seat cushion, detaching the old cover, and attaching a new one, often secured by clips or fasteners.
