Defrosting
Front Windshield Defrost:
- Press the front defrost button.
- Set the temperature to the warmest setting.
- Set the fan speed to the highest setting.
Windshield Wiper / Washer
- Activate wipers by moving the switch down to INT, LO, or HI positions.
- Adjust intermittent speed using the speed control switch.
- Spray washer fluid by pulling the lever towards you.
- Push the lever up for a single wiper pass.

Front Seat Adjustment (Manual)
Adjust the seat forward/backward and seat cushion height using the levers located at the front of the seat base.
Driver's Main Controls
- Side View Mirror Adjustment: Press 'L' or 'R' button, then use the directional switch to adjust mirror position.
- Power Window Lock Button: Disables rear passenger door window switches.
- Door Lock: Locks/unlocks all doors.
- Window Switches: Control power windows for front and rear doors.
Front Seat Adjustment (Power)
Adjustments include forward/backward movement, seat cushion height, seatback angle, and lumbar support using the controls on the side of the seat.
Fuel Filler Door
- Press the fuel filler door opener button.
- Open the fuel filler door.
Note: Tighten the fuel cap until it clicks three times.
Liftgate Opening
- Press the liftgate release button on the smart key or the vehicle to open.
- Press and hold the unlock button on the smart key to unlock the tailgate.
Headlights
- Headlight Delay: Headlights can remain on for 15 seconds after exiting and locking the vehicle. Press the lock button twice on the smart key to turn them off.
- Turn Signals and Lane Change Signals: Operate the lever for turn signals.
- High Beam / Smart High Beam: Push the lever forward to engage high beams or Smart High Beam. Pull the lever towards you to turn off high beams.
Smart High Beam Function
- Select 'Auto' position for headlights.
- Push lever forward to engage Auto High Beam.
- Push lever forward again to disengage.
Dynamic Bending Light (DBL)
DBL adjusts headlights based on steering angle and vehicle speed for improved visibility. Turn the knob to 'AUTO' to activate DBL when the vehicle is in ready mode (⚡). Turn the knob back to the former position to deactivate.
Wipers and Washer
- MIST: Single wipe.
- OFF: Wipers off.
- INT: Intermittent wipe. Adjust speed with the control switch.
- LO: Low wiper speed.
- HI: High wiper speed.
Windshield Washer: Pull the lever gently towards you to spray washer fluid and activate wipers for 1-3 cycles.
12 Volt Battery Reset Switch
The Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid uses an integrated 12V battery. The reset switch is used if the vehicle's start/stop button does not respond.
- Press the 12V Battery Reset switch to reconnect the battery.
- Start the vehicle within 15 seconds.
- After starting, drive for 30 minutes to fully charge the 12V battery.
Note: If the reset fails due to over-discharge, attempt to jump-start the vehicle. Refer to the Owner's Manual for detailed instructions.
Manual Key Entry: If the door is locked, use the manual key from the FOB to access the lock cylinder by releasing the access cover near the door handle.
Instrument Cluster
The instrument cluster displays vital driving information:
- Type A & Type B: Show different layouts for displays.
- Power Gauge: Indicates driving efficiency (PWR, ECO, CHARGE).
- Speedometer: Displays vehicle speed.
- Battery SOC Gauge: Shows hybrid battery State of Charge (L = Low, H = High).
- Fuel Gauge: Indicates fuel level.
- Warning and Indicator Lights: Various symbols alert the driver to system status.
- LCD Display: Shows trip computer, navigation prompts, system settings, and warning messages.

Vehicle Power Gauge
- CHARGE: Regenerated energy is converted to electrical energy.
- ECO: Vehicle is driven in an eco-friendly manner.
- POWER: Vehicle is exceeding the eco-friendly range.
Hybrid Battery SOC (State of Charge) Gauge
This gauge shows the remaining hybrid battery power. If the SOC is low, the engine will automatically operate to charge the battery.
Instrument Panel Illumination
Press the illumination control button to adjust the brightness of the instrument cluster.
LCD Display Modes
Type A
- Trip Computer: Displays driving information like tripmeter and fuel economy.
- Turn By Turn (TBT): Shows navigation guidance status.
- SCC / LKAS: Displays status of Smart Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist System.
- A / V: Shows Audio/Video system status.
- Information: Displays service intervals and warning messages (e.g., Blind Spot Detection).
- User Settings: Allows changes to vehicle settings like doors and lamps.
Type B
- Trip Computer: Displays driving information such as tripmeter and fuel economy.
- Turn By Turn (TBT): Shows navigation guidance status (if equipped).
- Assist: Displays status of Smart Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning System, and Tire Pressure information.
- User Settings: Allows changes to vehicle settings like doors and lamps.
- Warning: Displays warning messages (e.g., Blind Spot Detection).
Automatic Climate Control
Controls include driver and passenger temperature knobs, AUTO, OFF, defrost buttons, A/C, air intake, fan speed, mode selection, Driver Only, and SYNC buttons.
- Defogging/Defrosting: Press the front defrost button, set temperature to warmest, and fan speed to highest.
- Automatic Heating / Air Conditioning: Press AUTO button and set desired temperature. The system automatically controls modes, fan speeds, air intake, and A/C.
- System OFF: Pressing the OFF button turns off the blower, selects fresh air intake, and maintains the last set temperature.
- Mode Selection: Changes the direction of airflow.
- Air Intake Control: Selects between recirculated air and outside (fresh) air.
- SYNC Button: Synchronizes driver and passenger temperature and airflow settings.
- Driver Only: Directs cold air primarily to the driver's seat.
- Rear Window Defroster: Press to activate/deactivate the rear window defroster.
Clock Adjustment
With Audio System:
- Press SETUP on the audio head unit.
- Select Date/Time.
- Adjust Month, Day, Year, Hour, Minute, and AM/PM using the up/down arrows.
- Daylight Saving Time (DST) can be applied.
With Navigation System:
- Press SETUP on the navigation head unit.
- Select Clock.
- Choose Date/Time Settings, GPS Time, Daylight Savings Time, Time Zone, and 24 Hours options.
Radio Mode
Display Audio & Navigation
- Power On: Press the POWER button.
- Tuning/Listening: Press BAND to select FM/AM/SiriusXM®, then ROTATE TUNE knob to desired channel.
- Preset Memory: Press and hold a preset button on screen to store the current channel.
- Sound Control: Press SETUP, then SOUND to access Sound Settings and adjust audio preferences.
Navigation
Basic Features on Map Screen
- Place button: Accesses the Place menu.
- Home button: Returns to the Home screen.
- Map button: Changes map view mode.
- NAV volume button: Adjusts navigation audio volume.
- Zoom in/out buttons: Adjust map scale.
- Map scale display: Automatically sets zoom level based on guidance.
- Quick menu button: Provides quick access to destinations and options.
- NAV button: Opens the navigation menu.
- Map scroll mark: Allows map scrolling.
- Destination button: Selects a destination from the map.
- Waypoint button: Sets a waypoint on the current route.

Destination Search Screen
Search for destinations by:
- Address: Enter address details.
- Previous Destinations: Select from a history of entered addresses and POIs.
- Local Search: Uses Google Local Search via connected services.
- POI Categories: Browse by categories like Charging Stations, Restaurants, or Emergency facilities.
- Address Book: Search saved addresses.
- Coordinates: Enter latitude and longitude to find a destination.
AUX, USB and iPod® Port
Use the input jacks to connect external audio devices and play audio through the vehicle's system. iPod® is a trademark of Apple, Inc.
Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)
- Shifting: Depress the brake pedal and press the shift button while moving the shift lever.
- Manual Shift Mode: Shift from 'D' to the manual gate to engage. This mode holds gears longer for a sportier feel.
- ECO/SPORT Mode:
- ECO Mode: Engaged automatically when in 'D'. Improves fuel efficiency. The ECO indicator illuminates.
- SPORT Mode: Engaged when in 'S'. Provides more responsive performance; fuel efficiency may decrease. The SPORT indicator illuminates.
DCT Characteristics:
- An automatically shifting manual transmission with two clutches.
- Provides automatic shifting convenience with manual transmission efficiency.
- Clicking sounds on engine start/stop are normal self-tests.
- Hill Hold: The vehicle remains stationary for approximately two seconds when stopped on a hill after releasing the brake, allowing for acceleration. If the interval exceeds two seconds, creep mode may engage.
Caution: Always use the foot brake to hold the vehicle on a hill. Using creep mode can damage the clutch. Overheated clutches may cause shuddering and a blinking instrument cluster display. If this occurs, pull over safely, shift to 'P', and apply the foot brake for a few minutes.
Paddle Shifter
Available in 'D' or Shiftronic mode. Press the [+] or [-] paddle shifter to upshift or downshift one gear.
Cruise Control / Smart Cruise Control
- Cruise Control: Maintains a constant speed.
- Smart Cruise Control: Maintains speed and vehicle-to-vehicle distance.
Controls:
- (1) CRUISE button: Turns Cruise Control On/Off.
- (2) RES/+ Toggle switch: Resumes or increases speed.
- (3) SET/- Toggle switch: Sets or decreases speed.
- (4) CANCEL button: Cancels Cruise Control.
- Setting Vehicle Distance (Smart Cruise Control): Press the distance button to cycle through distance settings (1-4).
Setting Cruise Control:
- Press the 'CRUISE' button.
- Toggle the '-SET' switch down.
Adjusting Speed: Toggle '+RES' up to increase speed or '-SET' down to decrease speed. Quick toggles change speed by 1 mph; holding changes by 10 mph.
