Your Watch Caliber Number

Identify your watch's caliber number, which is indicated on the case back. As shown in the diagram on the right, the caliber number is the 4-digit number to the left of the hyphen.

[Diagram description: The diagram shows a watch case back with the caliber number "V145-0A00" highlighted. "V145" is indicated as the caliber number.]

Calibers: V110, V111, V114, V115, V116, V117, V137, V145, V147, V157, V158, V181, V182, V187

How to Charge and Start the Watch

If the watch has stopped or if the rechargeable battery's charge is very low, charge the watch sufficiently by exposing it to light.

Instant Start Function

If the watch is exposed to sunlight or strong artificial light (over 1000 lux), it will start immediately, with the second hand moving at 2-second intervals.

[Diagram description: The diagram shows a watch face. Step 1: Place the watch under sunlight or strong artificial light. The second hand is shown moving with a 2-second interval. Step 2: Keep the watch in light until the second hand moves at a 1-second interval. Step 3: Once the watch has started after a complete stop, set the date and time before wearing it on your wrist. Refer to "Charging Time / Accuracy Guide".]

Notes:

  1. If your watch has a second hand, after activating the instant start function by exposing it to light, the second hand will immediately move at 2-second intervals, but the rechargeable battery's stored energy is insufficient. The watch may stop if removed from light.
  2. It is not necessary to fully charge the watch. However, it is important to charge it well, especially for the initial charge.

Low Power Warning Function

If the watch has a second hand, when the energy stored in the rechargeable battery drops to an extremely low level, the second hand will start moving at 2-second intervals instead of the normal 1-second interval (some calibers do not have this function). The watch continues to display the correct time even when the second hand moves at 2-second intervals.

In such cases, charge the watch as soon as possible by exposing it to light. Otherwise, the watch may stop approximately 3 days later. (For charging the watch, refer to "How to Charge and Start the Watch").

To Prevent Power Depletion

Power Source Memo

This watch uses a rechargeable battery, which differs from ordinary silver-oxide batteries. Unlike disposable batteries such as dry cells or coin cells, this rechargeable battery can be used repeatedly through charge/discharge cycles.

The effective recharging capability of the rechargeable battery may gradually deteriorate due to various causes, such as long-term use or operating conditions. Worn-out or contaminated mechanical parts or decomposed oils can also shorten the recharge cycles. If the rechargeable battery's effectiveness decreases, the watch requires repair.

WARNING:

How to Operate the Screw-Lock Crown (For models with a screw-lock crown)

Rotating Bezel (For Models with Rotating Bezel)

The rotating bezel can indicate up to 60 minutes of elapsed time.

  1. Turn the rotating bezel to align its marker [e.g., a triangle or dot] with the minute hand.
  2. Read the elapsed time from the rotating bezel marker that the minute hand points to.

[Diagram description: The diagram shows a watch face with a rotating bezel. The bezel's marker is aligned with the minute hand. The minute hand then moves forward, indicating elapsed time on the bezel markers.]

Note: In some models, the rotating bezel rotates only counter-clockwise.
