Your Watch Caliber Number
Identify your watch's caliber number, which is indicated on the case back. As shown in the diagram, the caliber number is the 4-digit number to the left of the hyphen.
[Diagram Description: A watch case back showing a caliber number like "V145-0A00" with an arrow pointing to "V145" as the caliber number.]
How to Charge and Start the Watch
When starting the watch or if the rechargeable battery's charge has fallen to a very low level, charge the watch sufficiently by exposing it to light.
Instant Start Function
If the watch is exposed to sunlight or strong artificial light (over 1000 lux), it will start immediately, with the second hand moving in 2-second intervals.
[Diagram Description: A watch face with the second hand moving in 2-second intervals, indicating low power. Steps show placing the watch under light.]
- Place the watch under sunlight or strong artificial light.
- Keep the watch exposed to light until the second hand starts moving in 1-second intervals.
- Once the watch has started after a complete stop, set the date and time before wearing it on your wrist.
Refer to "Charging Time / Accuracy Guide" for details.
Notes:
- If your watch has a second hand, after activating the instant start function by exposing it to light, the second hand will immediately move in 2-second intervals, but the rechargeable battery's stored energy is insufficient. The watch may stop if removed from light.
- It is not necessary to fully charge the watch. However, it is important to charge the watch well, especially for the initial charge.
Warning: Precautions for Charging
- When charging, do not place the watch too close to light sources such as camera flashes, spotlights, or incandescent lamps, as this may cause excessive temperature rise and damage internal components.
- When charging the watch under sunlight, do not leave it on car dashboards, etc., as this may cause excessive temperature rise.
- When charging the watch, ensure its temperature does not exceed 50°C (for calibers V110, V145, V181, and V182).
- When charging the watch, ensure its temperature does not exceed 60°C (for calibers V111, V114, V115, V116, V117, V137, V147, V157, V158, and V187).

- Push the crown back to its normal position in accordance with the time signal.
Models with Day of the Week and Date
- Pull out the crown to the first click and set the preceding day of the week and date.
- Pull out the crown to the second click when the second hand points to the 12 o'clock position.
- Turn the crown until the desired day of the week and date appear in the window on the dial.
- Turn the crown to set the minute and hour hands to the correct time.
- Push the crown back to its normal position in accordance with the time signal.

Charging Time / Accuracy Guide
Notes:
- Do not set the date between 9:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Otherwise, the date may not change correctly.
- If you need to set the date during this interval, first set any time outside this interval, set the date, and then reset the correct time.
- When setting the hour hand, ensure the AM/PM is correctly set. The watch is designed so that the date changes once every 24 hours. Turn the hands past the 12 o'clock position to determine if the watch is set to AM or PM. If the date changes, it is AM. If the date does not change, it is PM.
- When setting the minute hand, first set it 4-5 minutes past the desired time, then move it back to the exact time.
- The date needs to be corrected at the end of February and for 30-day months.

Power Reserve Warning Function
If your watch has a second hand, when the energy stored in the rechargeable battery falls to an extremely low level, the second hand will start moving in 2-second intervals instead of the normal 1-second interval (some calibers do not have this function). The watch continues to display the correct time even when the second hand moves in 2-second intervals.
In such cases, charge the watch as soon as possible by exposing it to light. Otherwise, the watch may stop approximately 3 days later. (For charging the watch, refer to "How to Charge and Start the Watch".)
To Prevent Power Depletion
- When wearing the watch, ensure it is not covered by clothing.
- When the watch is not in use, place it in a well-lit location for as long as possible.
Power Reserve Information
- These watches use a rechargeable battery, which differs from ordinary silver-oxide batteries. Unlike other disposable batteries such as dry-cell or button cells, this rechargeable battery can be used repeatedly through charge and discharge cycles.
- The effective recharging capability of the rechargeable battery may gradually deteriorate due to various reasons such as long-term use or operating conditions. Worn-out or contaminated mechanical parts or decomposed oils can also shorten the recharge cycles. If the rechargeable battery's effectiveness decreases, the watch requires repair.
Warning
- Do not attempt to remove the rechargeable battery yourself. Battery replacement requires professional knowledge and skills. Please consult a watch dealer for battery replacement.
- Installing a regular silver-oxide battery may cause overheating, leading to ignition and fire.
How to Wind the Crown with Screw Lock
(For models with a screw-lock crown)
- To unscrew the crown: Turn the crown counter-clockwise (Then pull out the crown to set the time/calendar).
- To screw in the crown: With the crown in its normal position, turn it clockwise while pushing it in.
Rotating Bezel (For Models with Rotating Bezel)
The rotating bezel can indicate up to 60 minutes of elapsed time.
- Turn the rotating bezel to align its "●" mark with the minute hand.
- Read the time on the rotating bezel indicated by the minute hand.
[Diagram Description: A watch face showing the rotating bezel. An arrow indicates turning the bezel to align a marker with the minute hand. Another diagram shows the minute hand pointing to a number on the bezel, indicating elapsed time.]
Note: On some models, the rotating bezel only rotates counter-clockwise.
