Safety Warnings: Tip-Over Prevention
[alert] WARNING
Serious or fatal crushing injuries can occur from furniture tip-over. To help prevent tip-over, install tip restraints per instructions.
- This product is designed to support flat screen TVs weighing 50 lbs/22.7 kg or less.
- The width of a flat screen TV placed on the unit should not be greater than the width of the unit. Use with heavier or larger televisions may result in instability causing tip over, leading to death or serious injury.
- Children climbing on furniture can cause tip-overs, resulting in serious injury or death. Remote controls or toys placed on furniture may encourage children to climb.
To further reduce the risk of serious injury and death from tip-overs:
- Place heaviest items in the lowest compartments or drawers.
- Never allow children to climb or hang on drawers, doors, or shelves.
- Never open more than one drawer at a time.
Use of tip-over restraints may only reduce, but not eliminate, the risk of tip-over.
For safe mounting, it is essential to use wall anchors appropriate to your wall type (e.g., plaster, drywall, concrete, etc.). Mount to wood studs whenever possible. If unsure about your wall type or mounting method, consult a qualified professional or your local hardware store.
Visual Warning: A triangular warning symbol with an exclamation mark, accompanied by figures illustrating the danger of furniture tip-over.
Wall Mounting Instructions
These instructions detail how to secure the media console to the wall using provided hardware.
Step 1: Using provided screws and a screwdriver, secure the mounting plate(s) to the back of the product.
Step 2: Mark and drill holes on the wall for the mounting plates. Drill pilot holes into marked positions and into a wall stud. If wall studs are not available, drill holes slightly smaller than the drywall anchors and insert each anchor until its flange is flush with the wall.
Step 3: Using a screwdriver, secure the mounting bracket(s) to the wall stud or drywall anchors with provided screws.
Step 4: Position the product in its final location. Secure it to the wall by lacing one end of a plastic tie through both the wall and product mounting plates, and then through the other end, pulling tightly to remove slack. Do not over tighten.
Visual Description: Diagram illustrates the wall mounting process, showing a mounting plate attached to the back of the console, screws securing a bracket to the wall, and a plastic tie connecting the console to the wall bracket.
Cleaning and Care
Clean surfaces with a dry or damp soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Do not use furniture wax or polish.
It is recommended to use coasters to protect the surface from heat and water. Do not leave spills unattended.
Periodically check and tighten hardware as necessary.
