General Operation and Maintenance

Anti-reverse Lever

ON: The handle can only turn forward.

OFF: The handle can turn forward and backward.

Changing Handle Position

To change the handle position from left to right (or vice versa):

1. Remove the handle screw cap.
2. Turn the handle clockwise and detach the handle assembly.
3. Reassemble in reverse order.
4. Put on the handle screw cap.

Note: Some models may require a handle shaft change when switching handle positions.

Spool Removal & Attachment

• Removal: Turn the drag knob counterclockwise. Slowly turn the spool while sliding it onto the spool shaft until it passes all the way through, then fasten by turning the drag knob clockwise.
• Attachment: Mount the reel on the rod and pass the line through the guides.

Line Roller Oil Injection

Use oil or grease spray. Put the nozzle inside the injection port and press the button quickly. (See Fig. c). Wipe off any excess oil or grease after application.

Attention: Do not put grease inside the roller bearing or spray inside the rotor, as this may affect the anti-reverse function. Some areas may not require oil and grease spray.

Drag Tension Adjustment

Drag adjustment prevents line breakage when a fish pulls hard. Mount the reel on a rod, pass the line through the guides, and turn the anti-reverse ON. Pull the line and adjust the drag knob. Turning clockwise increases tension; counterclockwise decreases it.

General Rule: Adjust drag so line starts to feed off the spool just before the breaking point. Always tighten the drag knob for long casts to prevent slippage and potential injury.

Winding Line

1. Attach the reel to the rod.
2. Tighten the drag.
3. Tie the line to the spool and secure with stickers.
4. Turn the handle once to begin winding.
5. Turn the spool vertical and apply pressure to the line spool.
6. Continue winding under tension until the spool is full.

Line Capacity: Do not overfill the spool. Wind the line to the indicated level for optimal casting performance.

Casting

1. Grab the line with your finger (Fig. 1).
2. Open the bail to the position shown in Fig. 2.
3. Swing the rod and cast.

Caution: Ensure the drag is sufficiently tightened during casting to prevent finger injury from the spinning spool.

Precautions Concerning Storage

• After Saltwater Use: Rinse with low-pressure fresh water to remove salt and dirt. Avoid hot water or immersing the reel in water. Dry thoroughly in a shaded area, avoiding direct sunlight or heat.
• Lubrication: Apply oil and grease as indicated in the diagrams. Perform lubrication in a well-ventilated area.
• Maintenance Port: Remove the maintenance port cap for draining and drying. Apply 1-2 drops of oil using a flat-head screwdriver. Reattach the cap after use.
• Storage Environment: Store the reel in a well-ventilated location, not in enclosed, hot, or humid spaces, to prevent corrosion.

Note: Some models may not have an oil injection port or an anti-reverse lever. External line roller lubrication may also not be offered on some products.
