Operating Instructions

This section provides instructions on how to operate and maintain your Piscifun AlumiX spinning reel.

Changing Handle Position (Left to Right)

1. Remove Handle Screw Cap: Unscrew the handle screw cap.

2. Detach Handle Assembly: Turn the handle clockwise and detach the handle assembly.

3. Reassemble: Reassemble in reverse order and replace the handle screw cap.

Winding Line

1. Attach Reel: Attach the reel onto the fishing rod.

2. Tighten Drag: Tighten the drag.

3. Tie Line: Tie the fishing line onto the spool, ensuring it does not slip.

4. Wind Line: Turn the handle once to begin winding. Turn the line spool vertical and apply pressure, continuing to wind under tension until the spool is full. Suggested limit of line capacity is indicated by an arrowed line on the spool. Do not overfill the spool to reduce backlash during casting.

Adjusting Line Shape on Spool

• A. Setting upon delivery: Default spool line shape.
• B. To wind more to the back: Increase the number of washers on the spool shaft.
• C. To wind more to the front: Reduce the number of washers on the spool shaft.

Drag Tension Adjustment

Drag tension adjustment prevents line breakage when a hooked fish pulls hard. Mount the reel on the rod and pass the line through the guides.

1. Adjust Drag Knob: Pull on the line and adjust the drag knob. Turning clockwise increases tension; counterclockwise reduces it.

2. General Rule: Adjust drag tension so the line begins to feed off the spool just before the breaking point. Always tighten the drag knob when making a long cast to prevent slippage and potential injury.

Casting

1. Grip Line: Grab the line with your finger.

2. Open Bail: Open the bail to the position shown in the diagram.

3. Cast: Swing the rod and cast.

Spool Removal & Attachment

• Removal: Turn the drag knob counterclockwise.
• Attachment: Slowly turn the spool while sliding it onto the spool shaft until it is fully engaged. Fasten by turning the drag knob clockwise.

Caution: Ensure the drag is sufficiently tightened during casting. A loose drag may cause the spinning spool to cut your finger.

Precautions Concerning Storage

After use in saltwater, rinse and dry the reel thoroughly before storage.

• 1. Remove from Rod: Always remove the reel from the rod before storage. Rinsing while mounted can trap seawater in the reel seat.
• 2. Rinsing: Use a low-pressure showerhead with fresh water to wash away salt and dirt. Avoid hot water or immersing the reel, as this can wash away grease. High-pressure washing can force debris into the reel.
• 3. Drying: Allow the reel to dry in a shaded area, avoiding direct sunlight. Sunlight or hot air can cause interior condensation. Removing the Maintenance Port cap aids draining and drying.
• 4. Oil & Grease Use: Lubricate as indicated in the diagrams. Perform lubrication in a well-ventilated area. Apply 1-2 drops of oil inside the Maintenance Port after removing the cap with a flat-head screwdriver. Lubricate every 5 fishing trips or if storing for over a month. Ensure the Maintenance Port cap is reattached. Do not over-apply grease.
• Line Roller Lubrication: Use oil or grease spray. Insert the nozzle into the injection port and press quickly. Cover the line roller and spool when spraying. Wipe off any excess oil or grease that may spill onto the line roller to prevent staining clothes. Do not apply grease to the roller bearing or inside the rotor.

Points Requiring Lubricant:

• Oil: Oil injection points (Line roller, Handle shaft, Main Shaft).
• Grease: Bail Arm.
• Oil or Grease: Line roller, Handle shaft, Main Shaft.

5. Storage Precautions: Always remove the reel from the rod before storage. Avoid storing the reel in enclosed, hot, or humid conditions (e.g., car trunk) to prevent corrosion. Ensure the reel is dry and store it in a well-ventilated location.
