Introduction
This manual provides operating instructions for the Casio W-50U and W-60U watches, which utilize modules 643 and 893.
Watch Modes
Your watch features several modes, which can be cycled through by pressing button 'C':
- ⏰ Current Time Mode: Displays the current time, date, and day of the week.
- ? World Time Mode: Displays the current time for 29 different cities around the world.
- ⏱️ Stopwatch Mode: Measures elapsed time.
- ⏳ Timer Mode: Counts down from a preset time.
- ? Alarm Mode: Provides up to five independent alarms and an hourly time signal.
Current Time Mode Display
The display shows:
- Day of the Week
- Month
- Year
- Time (Hours, Minutes, Seconds)
- AM/PM indicator (if 12-hour format is selected)
- Module 643 indicator (if applicable)
World Time Mode Display
The display shows:
- City Code
- Time (Hours, Minutes, Seconds)
- Month
- Day
Stopwatch Mode Display
The display shows:
- Hundredths of a second
- Tenths of a second
- Seconds
- Minutes
- Hours
Timer Mode Display
The display shows:
- Hours
- Minutes
- Seconds
Alarm Mode Display
The display shows:
- Alarm number (AL1-AL5)
- Time
- Month and Day (if set for a specific date)
- Code of City (if set for World Time Alarm)
Setting the Time and Date
- In the Current Time Mode, press button 'B' to enter the setting mode. The hour digits will flash.
- Press button 'A' to advance the flashing digits. Holding button 'A' speeds up the change.
- Press button 'C' to move to the next item (e.g., from hours to minutes). The digits will flash.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to set minutes, seconds, year, month, and day of the week.
- Press button 'A' to select your Home City Code. Refer to the World Time Mode section for a list of city codes.
- Press button 'D' to toggle Daylight Saving Time (DST) on or off. The 'DST' indicator will appear when enabled.
- Press button 'B' to exit the setting mode. The watch will automatically return to the time display after a period of inactivity.
World Time Mode
This mode allows you to view the current time in 29 different time zones (29 cities).

Setting World Time
In World Time Mode, press button 'A' or 'D' to cycle through the city codes displayed on the screen.
Changing a City Code
- In World Time Mode, use buttons 'A' or 'D' to display the city code you want to change.
- Press button 'B'. The first letter of the city code will flash.
- Use button 'C' to move the flashing cursor to the letter you want to change.
- Use button 'A' to change the selected letter. Holding button 'A' speeds up the change.
- Press button 'B' to confirm the new city code.
Setting Daylight Saving Time (DST)
- In World Time Mode, use buttons 'A' or 'D' to display the city code for which you want to set DST.
- Press button 'B'. The first letter of the city code will flash.
- Press button 'D' to toggle DST on or off. The 'DST' indicator will appear when enabled, and the hour will advance by one.
- Press button 'B' to confirm.
- To cancel DST, repeat the procedure until the 'DST' indicator disappears.
Alarm Mode
Your watch has five independent alarms (AL1 to AL5) and an hourly time signal.
Setting an Alarm
- In Alarm Mode, press button 'A' to select the alarm number (AL1 to AL5) or the hourly time signal.
- Press button 'B' to enter the alarm setting. The hour digits will flash.
- Use button 'A' to change the flashing digits. Holding button 'A' speeds up the change.
- Press button 'C' to move to the next item (minutes, month, day, city code).
- Press button 'B' to exit the setting.
Note: The 'HT' indicator means the alarm is set for Home Time (local time).
Alarm Types
- Daily Alarm: Alarm sounds every day at the set time.
- Monthly Alarm: Alarm sounds on the set day of the month.
- Daily Alarm for 1 Month: Alarm sounds daily for the set month and day.
- Specific Date Alarm: Alarm sounds only on the specified date.
Enabling/Disabling Alarms and Hourly Time Signal
In Alarm Mode, press button 'A' to select the alarm or hourly time signal. Press button 'D' to toggle the alarm/signal on or off. An indicator will appear when enabled.
Pressing button 'B' in Alarm Mode will automatically enable the selected alarm.
If the time is displayed in 24-hour format, alarm times will also be displayed in 24-hour format.
Timer Mode
The timer can be set from 1 minute to 24 hours.
Setting the Timer
- In Timer Mode, press button 'B' to set the timer duration.
- Use button 'A' to change the flashing digits (hours, minutes). Holding button 'A' speeds up the change.
- Press button 'C' to move between hours and minutes.
- Press button 'B' to exit the setting.
Auto-repeat Function: When the timer reaches zero, it can automatically restart from the set time.
Repeat Function: When the timer reaches zero, the previously set time will be restored.
Stopwatch Mode
The stopwatch measures elapsed time up to 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59.99 seconds.
- Start/Stop: Press button 'A'.
- Reset: Press button 'B' (after stopping).
- Lap/Split Time: Press button 'B' during timing. Press 'B' again to resume normal timekeeping.
- 1st and 2nd Place Times: Measure the times of the first and second finishers.
Care and Maintenance
Water Resistance
Your watch has a water resistance rating indicated by a symbol on the case back. The following table explains the different levels:

Important Notes:
- Do not press buttons underwater.
- Rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly after exposure to saltwater.
- Periodically check the gasket for wear and tear (every 2-3 years).
- If moisture is detected inside the watch, have it inspected immediately to prevent corrosion.
- Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Do not subject the watch to strong impacts or drops.
- Do not overtighten the watch strap; a finger should fit between the strap and your wrist.
- Clean the watch and strap with a dry, soft cloth or a slightly damp cloth with mild detergent. Avoid solvents like benzine, alcohol, or spray cleaners.
- Gold-plated surfaces can be maintained by regular wiping with a soft, damp cloth. Discoloration can be removed with cleaning agents.
- Always store the watch in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paint, and other chemicals, as these can damage gaskets, the case, and the finish.
- Some models have silk-screened designs on the strap; clean these carefully to avoid damage.
- For water-resistant models with leather straps, do not wear them while swimming or engaging in water activities.
- For watches with plastic straps, a white powdery substance may appear; this is harmless and can be wiped away.
