User Manual for Watch Functions
Models: F-108, W-215/218
Important Information
Battery
The battery installed in the watch at the factory is discharged during delivery and storage. At the first signs of power depletion (dim display), the battery must be replaced at the nearest authorized CASIO service center or a CASIO dealer.
Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, it is prohibited to:
- Press buttons underwater.
- Move hands underwater.
- Unscrew the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified into ratings (from I to V) according to their degree of water protection. Check your watch's rating using the table below to determine its correct usage.
Rating | Case Markings | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Car Washing, etc. | Underwater Swimming, Diving, etc. | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Watches are not water-resistant. Avoid contact with any moisture.
II WR (Water Resistant) means the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
III With 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance, the watch can withstand water pressure of the indicated level and can therefore be used during showers and brief swimming.
IV 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used for normal swimming and snorkeling.
V 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
Care for Your Watch
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest dealer or a CASIO distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Although the watch is designed for active everyday use, handle it with care and avoid dropping it.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap.
- To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened in a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile substances (e.g., gasoline, solvents, aerosol cleaners, etc.).
- When not in use, store your watch in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
- Some watch models feature silk-screened designs on the strap. Be careful when cleaning such straps to avoid damaging these designs.
For watches with resin straps:
- You may notice a whitish powdery substance on the strap. This substance is not harmful to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.
- Exposure of resin straps to sweat or moisture, as well as storage in high humidity, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for resin straps, wipe them clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.
For watches with fluorescent cases and straps:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to fade gradually.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to fade gradually. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with any other damp surface can cause the fluorescent color to discolor. Ensure the fluorescent surface is dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of a surface with applied fluorescent paint against another surface can transfer the fluorescent paint to that surface.
When used in conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This phenomenon is due to the laws of physics and is not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch and does not accept any claims from third parties.
