? Before First Use

PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS.

  1. Ensure the battery is installed correctly. If not, insert one AAA 1.5V battery, observing correct polarity (+/-). Secure the battery cover tightly.
  2. Clean the stainless steel probe tip with a warm, soapy sponge or cloth, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
  3. The thermometer is now ready for use.

To Measure Food Temperature

  2. Press and hold the /°C/°F button for 3 seconds to select the temperature unit (°C or °F). The unit selection will be remembered for future use.
  3. Insert the probe tip into the food being cooked. The thermometer will begin measuring the internal food temperature.
  4. Press the LIGHT button to activate the backlight, which will automatically turn off after 15 seconds.
  5. Wait for the temperature reading to stabilize on the display.
  6. Press the LOCK/CAL button to lock the current temperature reading.
  7. Press the /°C/°F button to turn off the thermometer. The unit also features an auto-off function, turning off automatically if no button is pushed for 10 minutes.

Calibration

The thermometer comes with a calibration feature. In most cases, it is factory-calibrated and does not require immediate calibration. However, if you believe the temperature readings are inaccurate after a long period of use, you may re-calibrate it:

  1. Prepare ice cubes using distilled or purified water.
  2. Use a thermal insulated bottle or a beaker/cup.
  3. Fill the container with at least 70% ice cubes, then add cold distilled or purified water to fill the remaining volume (up to 30%).
  4. Stir the mixture and let it sit for 10 minutes for temperature equilibration.
  5. Turn on the thermometer and press and hold the LOCK/CAL button for 5 seconds to enter calibration mode. "CAL" will flash, followed by the current temperature reading flashing.
  6. Immerse the probe into the ice/water mixture, ensuring it does not touch the container sides. Wait for the lowest temperature reading, which should be around 32°F (0°C). If the reading is not within 28°F to 36°F (-2°C to +2°C), the calibration cannot continue, and you will need to remake the ice/water mixture.
  7. Press and hold the LOCK/CAL button for 3 seconds to confirm calibration and exit the mode.

? Note: The calibration mode is active for only 15 seconds. If not completed within this time, the thermometer will exit calibration mode automatically.

Undo Calibration

To revert to the default calibration setting:

  1. Turn on the thermometer and press and hold the LOCK/CAL button for 5 seconds to enter calibration mode.
  2. When the temperature reading starts flashing, press and hold the Light button for 3 seconds. The temperature reading will stop flashing, indicating the default calibration has been restored.

? Helpful Hints

  • For measuring multiple foods or meats, it is advisable to cool the probe by rinsing its tip with cold water between readings.
  • It is recommended to wipe the probe tip clean between readings, which is especially important when taking readings from different foods and meats.
  • This thermometer is designed for temporary, handheld use. Do not use it in an oven. Do not leave the probe inserted in extremely hot foods or liquids (anything over 572°F/300°C) for more than one minute.
  • Always take your reading in the thickest available portion of meat. Thin portions of meat are difficult to measure because they tend to cook through fast. Avoid touching bone. If the tip touches the bone or heavy fat area of the meat, or if the tip is not deep enough, take a second reading to ensure accuracy.
  • This product is not intended for use by persons aged 12 or under.

⚙️ Care of Your Thermometer

  • Remove the battery if the unit will be stored for more than four months.
