Textual Description of Thermometer Image: A silver digital meat thermometer with a folding probe. The display shows two temperature readings, labeled P1 and P2, with numerical values. Below the display are three buttons: LOCK, ON/OFF/LIGHT/▲, and SET/°C/°F. The folding probe is extended, and a wired probe is connected to the side.
4. How to Use the Wired Probe to Monitor Temperature
- Plug the wired probe into the corresponding socket on the side of the thermometer.
- Ensure the probe cable is free of knots and the sensor plug is firmly and completely inserted into the socket. If the probe is not properly connected or is crimped, the display will show "HHH".
- Press the SET button; the displayed temperature will begin to flash, indicating it's ready to set a target temperature.
- Use the ▲/▼ buttons to adjust the target temperature. Press and hold the button to rapidly scroll through digits. Press SET again to confirm the target temperature.
- Insert the probe tip into the thickest part of the meat, avoiding bone or gristle.
- Place food into the cooking appliance. Before closing the door or lid, ensure there is enough slack in the steel mesh cable to prevent the probe from being pulled out. The thermometer should be placed outside the appliance on a stable surface, securely connected to the probes.
- An alarm will sound when the internal food temperature reaches the target temperature. Press any button to stop the alarm.
- Before removing food, disconnect the steel mesh cables from the thermometer. Do not touch hot probes or wires with bare hands during or after cooking; always wear heat-resistant gloves.
5. Helpful Hints
- When measuring different foods, it may be desirable to cool the probe tip first with cold water.
- Wipe the probe tip clean between readings, especially when measuring different foods or meats.
- The thermometer is designed for temporary, handheld use. Do NOT leave it in an oven or in extremely hot foods/liquids (over 572°F) for more than 1 minute.
- If the unit displays LLL or HHH, wait for the probe to reach room temperature. If the issue persists, the internal probe wire may be short-circuited due to moisture or heat damage.
- Do not immerse the probe or cable in water during cleaning. The probe/cable connection is not waterproof.
- Do not allow the probe or wire to contact flames.
- If the temperature reading seems too high or increases too quickly, check that the probe tip is not poking through the food. Reposition the tip to the center of the thickest part of the food, avoiding bone or fatty areas.
- Clean the stainless steel probe with hot water and soap, then rinse.
- To prevent damage, do not place the thermometer on a hot surface.
- Not intended for use by persons under 12 years of age.
