To Replace Batteries

- Remove old batteries by placing a small screwdriver or ballpoint pen in the slot directly beneath the batteries. Lift the top battery out of the battery compartment. Repeat with the second battery. (Do not hit the Chime Button to remove batteries - this could damage the Button.)
- Replace old batteries with new batteries, positive (+) side up.
CAUTION
The batteries used in this device may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 100°C (212°F), or incinerate. Replace with UL approved Type CR2032 3 volt lithium batteries from Carlon (RC3395D), Radio Shack, Toshiba, Sharp, NewSun, or Sony only. Use of another battery may present a risk of fire or explosion.
Changing Tone/Melody Selection
To change to a different tone or melody, press once on the small raised Button located on the front of the Button. The Receiver will play the next selection. To continue changing melody or selection, press down once again and wait for the Receiver to confirm the change.
Note: If you change songs or tones too rapidly, the Receiver will not play each selection. Only the last melody or tone selected will play. Selecting while the Receiver is playing will switch the system to a new setting, but the Receiver will only finish playing the tone or melody already in progress.

Volume Control
Adjust loudness by moving the volume control lever on the back of the Chime Receiver to the desired position.
Troubleshooting Tips
Problem: Receiver does not sound when Chime Button is pressed.
Suggestion: Verify that batteries are installed correctly in the button and battery contacts are in the correct position. Try replacing batteries first. Check that the Receiver and Button are placed within operating range.
Problem: When the chime button is pressed, the receiver plays "Please replace button batteries" or "Please replace chime batteries" at the end of the melody or tone.
Suggestion: "Please replace button batteries" indicates that the Chime Button batteries are getting low. Replace Chime Button batteries. "Please replace chime batteries" indicates that the Chime Receiver batteries are getting low. Replace Chime Receiver batteries.
Problem: Chime only plays "dong."
Suggestion: Press the Scroll Button on the Transmitter to change sound options.
Problem: Receiver sometimes plays without anyone pressing the Chime Button.
Suggestion: If another Wireless Chime System nearby is on the same frequency, it could accidentally trigger your system. If this happens, change the privacy code.
Privacy Codes and How to Change Them
It is NOT necessary to change the privacy code unless interference occurs. If you need to change the code:
- Use a nail clipper or wire cutter to cut and separate one of the wires ("A" through "E") on the Chime Receiver. Make sure the cut wire does not touch any other wire.
- Remove the back cover off the Chime Button and locate the wires, which are in the rectangular compartment adjacent to the batteries. The wires are designated "A" through "E" with letters located immediately above them.
- Using a nail clipper or wire cutter, cut and separate the same wire that was cut on the Chime Receiver. Make sure that the cut wire does not touch any other wire.
Note: It doesn’t matter which wires are cut, but be sure that the same wire cut on the Button matches that of the Receiver. If the wire cut on the Chime Button does not match the wire cut on the Chime Receiver, the system will not work.
Suggestion: Begin by cutting just one wire in the Chime Receiver and the same wire in the Chime Button. Test to see if the problem is eliminated. If the system is still not working properly, try cutting another wire. DON’T FORGET THAT EVERY TIME A WIRE IS CUT IN THE CHIME RECEIVER, THE CORRESPONDING WIRE MUST BE CUT IN THE CHIME BUTTON.
