Crown Operations
Some water-resistant models (10 BAR, 20 BAR) have a screw-lock crown. To perform a crown operation, rotate the crown towards you to unscrew it. Then pull the crown out. Avoid applying excessive force when pulling. The watch's water resistance is not maintained while the crown is unscrewed. After performing a crown operation, screw the crown back in fully.
Rotary Bezel Operation
If your watch has a rotary bezel, you can rotate it to align its mark with the minute hand. This allows you to tell the elapsed time since the mark was aligned.

Precautions for Use
Water Resistance
The following information applies to watches with WATER RESIST or WATER RESISTANT marking on the back cover.
Usage Condition | No Marking | WATER RESIST | WATER RESIST 10 BAR | WATER RESIST 20 BAR |
---|---|---|---|---|
Washing hands, Rain | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Swimming, Washing | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Jet skiing, etc. | No | No | Yes | Yes |
Free diving (no scuba gear) | No | No | Yes | Yes |
Important: Do not use your watch for scuba diving or any other type of diving that requires scuba tanks. Watches without WATER RESIST or WATER RESISTANT on the back cover are not protected against the effects of sweat. Avoid using such watches in conditions where they are exposed to large amounts of sweat or moisture, or direct water spray. Even with water-resistant watches, observe the precautions below. Such usage can reduce the effectiveness of water resistance and cause condensation to form on the glass. Do not operate the crown or buttons while your watch is submerged in water or wet. Avoid wearing your watch in the bath. Avoid wearing your watch in a hot tub, sauna, or other environments with high temperatures and humidity. Do not wear your watch while washing your hands or face, doing housework, or any other activity that involves soap or detergents. After exposure to seawater, rinse your watch with fresh water to remove all salt and dirt. To maintain water resistance, have your watch's gaskets replaced at regular intervals (about once every two or three years). A trained technician can check your watch's water resistance performance whenever you have the battery replaced. Battery replacement requires special tools. Always entrust battery replacement to your original retailer or a CASIO authorized service center. Some water-resistant watches come equipped with stylish leather bands. Avoid swimming, washing, or any activity that may cause the leather band to come into direct contact with water. Condensation may form on the inside of the glass when the watch is exposed to a sudden drop in temperature. This does not indicate a problem if the condensation disappears relatively quickly. Sudden and drastic temperature changes (such as entering an air-conditioned room in summer and standing near an air conditioner vent, or leaving a heated room in winter and allowing your watch to come into contact with snow) can cause condensation to remain on the watch glass for longer. If condensation remains on the watch glass, or if you notice moisture inside the glass, stop using your watch immediately and take it to your original retailer or a CASIO authorized service center. Your water-resistant watch has been tested according to ISO standards.
Band
Wearing the band too tightly can cause sweat to build up and hinder air circulation, leading to skin irritation. Do not wear the band tighter than necessary. There should be enough space to insert a finger between the band and your wrist. Deterioration of the band due to rust or other conditions can cause it to break or detach from the watch, potentially leading to the loss of band pins. This could cause your watch to fall off your wrist and be lost, or result in personal injury. Always take care of your watch band and keep it clean. Stop using your watch band if you notice any of the following: loss of elasticity, cracking, discoloration, loosening, missing or loose band pins, or any other abnormal appearance. Take your watch to your original retailer or a CASIO service center for inspection and repair (at your expense) or for band replacement (at your expense).
Temperature
Never leave your watch on the dashboard of a car or near a heater or any other location exposed to extreme high temperatures. Do not leave your watch where it is exposed to extreme low temperatures. Extreme high or low temperatures can cause your watch's time to gain or lose, stop, or malfunction.
Shock
Your watch is designed to withstand shocks that occur during normal daily use and light activities such as playing catch and tennis. Dropping your watch or subjecting it to other strong shocks can cause it to malfunction. Note that watches designed for shock resistance (G-MS, BABY-G, G-SHOCK) can be worn during operation of a power saw or other activities that produce strong vibrations, or when participating in strenuous sports activities (such as motorcycle racing, etc.).
Magnetism
Standard analog hands and combination analog-digital watches are moved by a motor that uses magnetic force. Bringing such a watch close to a device that emits strong magnetism (speakers, magnetic necklaces, mobile phones, etc.) can cause the time display to lag, gain, or stop, resulting in incorrect timekeeping. Avoid extremely strong magnetic fields (from medical devices, etc.) as they can cause your watch to malfunction and damage its electronic components.
Electrostatic Discharge
Exposure to very strong electrostatic discharge can cause your watch to display the time incorrectly. Very strong electrostatic discharge can even damage the watch's electronic components.
Chemicals
Do not allow your watch to come into contact with thinner, benzene, solvents, oils, grease, cleaning agents, adhesives, paints, medicines, or cosmetics containing these components. Doing so can cause the color of the resin case, resin band, leather, and other parts to change (or fade) or be damaged.
Storage
If you plan to store your watch for a long period, wipe it thoroughly to remove any dirt, sweat, or moisture (wetness) and store it in a cool, dry place.
Resin Components
Leaving your watch in contact with other items or storing it with other items for long periods while wet can cause the color of the resin components to transfer to other items or the color of other items to transfer to the watch's resin components. Be sure to dry your watch thoroughly before storing it and ensure it does not come into contact with other items. Exposing your watch to direct sunlight (UV rays) for long periods or leaving your watch for long periods without cleaning off dirt can cause its color to change (or fade). Friction caused by certain conditions (strong external force, continuous rubbing, shock, etc.) can cause the color of coated components to change (or fade). If there are printed numbers on the band, strong rubbing of the printed areas can remove the colors. Leaving your watch wet for long periods can cause fluorescent colors to fade. Wipe the watch dry as soon as possible after it gets wet. The color of semi-transparent resin parts can change (or disappear) due to sweat and dirt, and if exposed to high temperatures and high humidity for long periods. Normal daily use and long-term storage of your watch can cause the resin components to deteriorate, break, or bend. The extent of such damage depends on the conditions of use and storage.
Leather Band
Leaving your watch in contact with other items or storing it with other items for long periods while wet can cause the color of the leather band to transfer to other items or the color of other items to transfer to the leather band. Be sure to dry your watch thoroughly with a soft cloth before storing it and ensure it does not come into contact with other items. Exposing the leather band to direct sunlight (UV rays) for long periods or leaving the leather band for long periods without cleaning off dirt can cause its color to change (or fade). Caution: Exposing the leather band to rubbing or dirt can cause color transfer or discoloration (fading).
Metal Components
Failure to clean metal components of dirt can lead to rust, even if the components are stainless steel or plated. If metal components are exposed to sweat or water, wipe them thoroughly with a soft, absorbent cloth and then place the watch in a well-ventilated area to dry. Use a soft toothbrush or similar tool to scrub the metal parts with a weak solution of water and a mild neutral detergent, or a solution of water and soap. Rinse with water to completely remove any detergent residue, then wipe dry with a soft, absorbent cloth. When washing metal components, wrap the watch case in kitchen plastic wrap so that it does not come into contact with detergent or soap.
Bands Resistant to Bacteria and Odor
The bacteria- and odor-resistant band provides protection against odor caused by bacteria formation from sweat, ensuring comfort and hygiene. To maximize protection against bacteria and odor, keep your watch band clean. Use a dry cloth to wipe the band and clean it thoroughly of sweat and moisture. The bacteria- and odor-resistant band prevents the formation of organic matter and bacteria. However, it does not provide protection against rashes caused by allergies, etc. Please note that CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damages or losses incurred by you or any third party as a result of the use or malfunction of this product.
User Maintenance
Caring for Your Watch
Remember that you wear your watch on your skin, just like any other piece of clothing. To ensure your watch performs as designed, keep it clean by wiping it frequently with a soft cloth to keep your watch and band free of dirt, sweat, water, and foreign matter. Whenever your watch is exposed to seawater or mud, rinse it with fresh water to clean it. For metal bands or resin bands with metal parts, use a soft toothbrush or similar tool to scrub the band with a weak solution of water and a mild neutral detergent, or a solution of water and soap. Rinse with water to completely remove any detergent residue, then wipe dry with a soft, absorbent cloth. When washing the band, wrap the watch case in kitchen plastic wrap so that it does not come into contact with detergent or soap. For resin bands, wash with water and then wipe dry with a soft cloth. Note that a pattern resembling smudges may sometimes appear on the surface of a resin band. This has no effect on your skin or clothing. Use a cloth to remove the smudge-like pattern. Clean the leather band of water and sweat by wiping it with a soft cloth. Failure to operate the watch crown, buttons, or rotary bezel can lead to future operational problems. Periodically rotate the crown and rotary bezel, and press the buttons to maintain their proper operation.
Risks of Neglecting Watch Care
Rust
Although the steel used in your watch is highly rust-resistant, rust can form if your watch is not cleaned when it becomes dirty. Dirt on your watch can prevent oxygen from reaching the metal, which can cause the oxidation layer on the metal surface to corrode and form rust. Rust can cause sharp edges to form on metal components and can cause band pins to become loose or fall out. If you notice anything unusual at any time, stop using your watch immediately and take it to your original retailer or a CASIO authorized service center. Even if the metal surface appears clean, sweat and rust in deep grooves can stain clothing sleeves, cause skin irritation, and even affect watch performance.
Premature Wear
Leaving sweat or water on a resin band or bezel, or storing your watch in an area exposed to severe moisture, can lead to premature wear, tears, or breakage. Skin Irritation: People with sensitive skin or health problems may experience skin irritation when wearing the watch. Such individuals should be particularly careful to keep their leather or resin watch bands clean. If you develop a rash or other skin irritation, remove your watch immediately and consult a skin care specialist.
Battery Replacement
Entrust battery replacement to your original retailer or a CASIO authorized service center. Replace the battery only with the type specified in this user manual. Using a different type of battery can cause malfunction. When replacing the battery, also request a check of the water resistance performance. Decorative resin components may wear out, crack, or bend over time due to normal daily use. Note that if cracking or any other abnormal condition indicating possible damage to the watch is observed when it is brought in for battery replacement, your watch will be returned to you with an explanation of the abnormal condition without performing the requested service (replacement). Initial Battery: The battery that comes loaded in your watch when you purchase it is used for factory testing of the watch's functions and performance. The trial battery may consume power faster than the normal battery life described in this user manual. Please note that you will be charged for replacement of this battery, even if it needs to be replaced during the warranty period of your watch. Weak Battery Power: Weak battery power is indicated by significant errors in timekeeping, dim (or faint) display illumination, or no display at all. Operating the watch while the battery power is weak can cause malfunctions. Replace the battery as soon as possible.
