Battery
The battery in your purchased watch is installed at the factory and should be replaced immediately at the first sign of insufficient power (backlight does not turn on, display is dim) by your nearest CASIO dealer or distributor.
Water Resistance
Watches are classified by rating (from I to V) according to their water resistance. Please refer to the table below to determine your watch's rating for proper operation.
Rating | Marking on Case | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Car Washing | Swimming, Casual Swimming, etc. | Scuba Diving, Skin Diving, etc. |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | WATER RESISTANT | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
300M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes for relevant sections:
- I. The watch is not water resistant. Avoid any moisture.
- II. Do not pull out the crown when the watch is wet.
- III. Do not press watch buttons underwater.
- IV. If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
- V. The watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
The watch may have leather straps. Do not wear these watches while swimming or engaging in any other activity where the strap may get wet.
Never attempt to open the case and remove the back cover yourself.
The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
If moisture gets inside the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest CASIO dealer or distributor.
Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
Although the watch is designed for normal use, avoid rough handling and do not drop it.
Do not fasten the strap too tightly. A finger should fit between your wrist and the strap.
To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile agents (such as gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.).
When not using your watch, store it in a dry place.
Avoid exposure to gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials will damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's polish.
Some models feature silk-screened graphics on their straps. Be careful when cleaning such straps to avoid damaging these designs.
For watches with plastic straps...
You may notice a whitish powdery substance on the strap. This substance is not harmful to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by simply wiping with a cloth.
Exposure of the plastic strap to sweat or moisture, or storing it in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking of the strap. To ensure a long service life for the plastic strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.
For watches with fluorescent cases and straps...
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
Prolonged contact with moisture may cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
Prolonged contact with any other wet surface may lead to discoloration of the fluorescent color. Ensure the fluorescent surface is free of moisture and avoid contact with other surfaces.
Rubbing a surface with fluorescent paint vigorously against another surface may cause the fluorescent paint to transfer to that surface.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch, nor does it accept any claims from third parties.

Backlight
Press button "L" in any mode to illuminate the display for 1.5 seconds.
The backlight of these watches uses electroluminescent (EL) elements, whose power decreases after prolonged use.
The watch emits an audible signal when the display is illuminated. This is due to the backlight elements vibrating and is not an indication of a malfunction.

Frequent use of the backlight shortens battery life.
