IKEA RANARP Pendant Lamp Installation Guide

This document provides instructions for the installation of the IKEA RANARP pendant lamp.

Important Safety Information

Assembly Instructions

The following steps detail the assembly process for the RANARP pendant lamp. Ensure all parts are present before beginning.

Step 1: Prepare the Lamp

Insert the lamp holder into the lamp shade. The lamp holder has a spring mechanism for secure attachment.

Step 2: Connect the Wires

A diagram shows a hand holding a wire connector. The wire from the lamp is fed through the central part of the connector. The connector has a mechanism that grips the wire.

Step 3: Secure the Wires

Two close-up diagrams illustrate how to insert and secure the wires into the connector. The wires are pushed into designated slots, and the connector is closed to hold them in place.

Step 4: Route the Cable

The main cable of the lamp is routed through the spring mechanism. A close-up shows the cable being guided into the spring.

Step 5: Hang the Lamp

A diagram shows a hand using a tool to attach the lamp to a ceiling hook. The hook should be positioned 20-40 mm (25/32" - 1"37/64") from the lamp's canopy.

Step 6: Connect to Power

The lamp's wires (Live 'L' and Neutral 'N') are connected to the corresponding wires in the ceiling using the provided connectors. Diagrams show the correct insertion of the 'L' and 'N' wires into the connectors.

Step 7: Secure the Canopy

The canopy is pushed upwards towards the ceiling. A close-up shows the canopy being secured, with an audible 'Click!' indicating it is locked in place.

Step 8: Final Adjustments

The lamp's suspension cable is adjusted for height. Diagrams show how to slide the cable through the mechanism to achieve the desired length. Ensure the cable is not overtightened.

Step 9: Final Check

A final check of the connections and securement of the lamp is recommended.

Important Warnings

Do not overtighten screws or connections. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and properly insulated.
