Galaxy 5G Mobile Wi-Fi Quick Start Guide
This guide provides essential information for setting up and using your Galaxy 5G Mobile Wi-Fi device. Names of Parts
Identify the components of your Galaxy 5G Mobile Wi-Fi device:
- ① Display (Touch panel): The main screen for interaction.
- ② Wi-Fi® antenna: Built into the main unit.
- ③ Back stand: Allows the device to stand upright.
- ④ 5G/4G antenna: Built into the main unit.
- ⑤ Side key: Used for power and other functions.
- ⑥ External connection terminal (Type-C): For charging and data transfer.
- ⑦ Tray eject hole: Used with the SIM card removal tool.
- ⑧ au IC card tray: Holds the au IC card (SIM card).
Note: All antennas are integrated into the main unit.
Device Views:
- Front View: Shows the display and side key.
- Back View: Features the back stand.
- Right Side View: Displays the external connection terminal.
- Bottom Side View: Contains the tray eject hole.
- Top Side View: Houses the Wi-Fi antenna.
Using the Back Stand
To stand the main unit horizontally, open the back stand as illustrated. This provides a stable viewing position.
If the Back Stand Has Come Off
If the back stand detaches, do not force it off. Confirm its orientation, hold it vertically against the main unit, and carefully insert it straight into the unit's groove.
[Caution] When using the back stand, ensure the unit is placed horizontally for stability. Avoid applying strong force or impact to the unit while it is standing, as this may cause the back stand to detach. Do not forcibly open, close, or remove the back stand, as it may become deformed or damaged.

Attaching the au IC Card
Follow these steps to insert your au IC card:
- Insert the SIM card removal tool into the tray eject hole to eject the tray.
- Place the au IC card (metal part facing down) into the tray, aligning it with the notch.
- Carefully insert the tray back into the device.
Turning the Power On
- Press and hold the side key for at least 2 seconds to turn the device on.
- Unlock the screen by swiping the area other than the calendar display.
[Memo] If the device becomes unresponsive or the display freezes, press and hold the side key for at least 7 seconds to restart it.
Making Initial Settings
Upon first power-on, an initial setup wizard will guide you through basic settings:
- Tap "日本語" (Japanese), select "English", then tap "OK" and "Start".
- Confirm the "Welcome!" screen by tapping "Continue".
- Follow the on-screen instructions for the following settings:
- Step 1: Select "communication mode".
- Step 2: Select "performance mode".
- Step 3: Transfer settings from your previous device (select "Skip" if not applicable).
- Step 4: Enter the Wi-Fi® network name (SSID) and password. You can change these from the default values.
- Step 5: Select the screen locking method.
- Step 6: Configure "Turn off Wi-Fi automatically" (disables Wi-Fi after 10 minutes of inactivity to save battery).
- Step 7: Configure "Use battery protection?" (limits battery charge to 85% to prolong battery life).
- On the "You're all set up!" screen, tap "Start" to access the Home screen.
Connecting with Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®)
This device supports IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®) standards, allowing connection to PCs, smartphones, and tablets for data communication. It also supports the WPS function for easy connection with compatible devices and QR code scanning for simplified setup.
This manual details the WPS connection method. For other connection methods or more information on WPS, refer to "無線LAN (Wi-Fi®)で接続する (Connecting with Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®))" in the full instruction manual.
Connecting with the WPS Function
- From the Home screen, navigate: " " ▶️ "Wi-Fi" ▶️ "WPS" ▶️ "Start" ▶️ "Continue". The WPS function will activate.
- Perform the connection operations on your wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®) device within 2 minutes. (Operations vary by device.)
Checking Your Phone Number
- From the Home screen, navigate: " " ▶️ "About" ▶️ "Status".
Note: This product cannot make or receive voice calls.
Communication Modes
You can switch between "Standard" and "Plus area" communication modes. The device is set to "Standard" by default. Switching to "Plus area" may incur additional charges depending on your rate plan.
To switch modes: From the Home screen, tap "Communication mode" ▶️ "Communication mode" ▶️ Select "Standard (ST)" or "Plus area (+A)".
Switching to English Display
To change the device's display language to English:
From the Home screen, navigate: " " ▶️ "システム設定 (System settings)" ▶️ "言語 (Language)" ▶️ "言語を選択 (Select language)" ▶️ Select "English" ▶️ "保存 (Save)".
