4. Getting Started
Keyboard Charging
Connect the keyboard via USB Type-A to charge. The charging indicator shows:
- Pulsing green: Charging
- Solid green: Fully Charged
For optimal performance, fully charge the keyboard before first use. The keyboard can be used while connected.
5. How to Use the Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile Hyperspeed
Connection Modes
Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Mode (2.4 GHz)
Connect the Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Dongle to a USB Type-A port on your PC. Switch the keyboard to HyperSpeed mode using the dedicated button. The indicator light will flash white while connecting and turn solid white when connected.
Bluetooth Mode
Switch the keyboard to Bluetooth mode. Press the Bluetooth Mode / Profile Cycle Button to cycle through profiles (Profile 1: Red, Profile 2: Green, Profile 3: Blue). The button will briefly display the selected profile. The keyboard can pair with up to 3 devices.
To re-enter pairing mode, press and hold the Bluetooth Mode / Profile Cycle Button for 5 seconds.
Wired Mode
Connect the keyboard directly to your PC using the USB Type-A to Type-C cable.
Features
Battery Level Notification
A low battery is indicated by a flashing red light (below 10%). The notification repeats until the battery is depleted or the keyboard is recharged.
Media Controls
Dedicated media buttons allow control over playback:

Multifunction Roller
The roller controls volume:
- Scroll Up ?: Increase volume
- Scroll Down ?: Decrease volume
- Press Roller ?: Mute/Unmute
Wireless Mode Switching
Switch between Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Mode and Bluetooth Mode using the dedicated button.
AI Prompt Master
Access AI prompts by pressing the AI Prompt Master button. Requires Razer Synapse.
Profile Shortcut Keys
Quickly switch between saved profiles:

Profiles 1-4 can be remapped and customized in Razer Synapse. Holding the Fn key displays the active profile.
Battery Level / Status Button
Press and hold for 3 seconds to enable/disable Power Save Mode.
Power Save Mode reduces polling rate, turns off lighting, and disconnects Synapse to conserve battery.
Checking Battery Level
Press the Battery Level / Status Button to view the battery level. The indicator bar shows levels from 0% to 100% with color codes: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green.
Keyboard Functions (Hotkeys/Shortcuts)

On-the-fly Macro Recording
Record and save macros by pressing a key combination, inputting keys, and pressing the combination again to stop. The macro key will flash. Press a key to save the macro.

Control lighting effects using hotkeys:

6. Setting Up the Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile Hyperspeed
This guide provides an overview of the Razer Synapse app. Features may vary by device and Synapse version. Internet connection is required for cloud-based features, installation, and updates. Razer ID registration is recommended but optional.
SYNAPSE Tab
The Synapse tab is displayed upon the initial launch of Razer Synapse after installation. Use the following buttons to navigate the user interface:
- Minimize ?: Minimizes the app to the taskbar while it runs in the background.
- Maximize ?: Maximizes the app window to fill the screen. Click again to restore the original size.
- Close ❌: Closes all associated tabs and exits the application.
- Previous Tab ◀️: Returns to the last accessed tab.
- Next Tab ➡️: Moves to the next page, useful after using the Previous Tab button.
- Refresh Tab ?: Reloads the current page, useful if content is not displaying correctly or for the latest updates.
- Download Update ⬆️: Notifies of app changes.
- Other ?: Opens a pop-up for quick access to [Device], [Module], and [Other Installed Apps] tabs.
- Settings ⚙️: Opens the Settings tab for quick configuration changes.
- Profiles ?: Opens a pop-up with options like [Login], [Feedback], [Rate this software], [Add Wi-Fi Device], [Exit].
- Information ℹ️: Displays additional information about features when hovered over.
Dashboard
The Dashboard tab provides an overview of Razer Synapse and access to all your Razer devices, modules, and online services.
Gamer Room
The Gamer Room tab displays all devices with Razer Aether Light functionality. It allows you to view and manage devices supported by Gamer Room.
Synapse Override: Customize device lighting and synchronize with Chroma-compatible games or Chroma Connect app.
Gamer Room App Control: Control supported devices remotely via the Gamer Room app.
Devices & Modules
The Modules tab lists installed and available modules. Global Shortcuts allow binding custom key combinations to Razer Synapse functions, usable across all device profiles.
BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile Hyperspeed Tab
This is the main tab for your Razer keyboard in Synapse. Customize key assignments, lighting, power consumption, etc. Changes are auto-saved locally and to the cloud. Access profile options via buttons below.
- Profile Dropdown Bar: Click to view and switch between all device profiles.
- ... Other: Opens a pop-up with profile-related options.
- Onboard Profiles: Save and transfer profiles directly to the device.
Customize Tab
Adjust key assignments, optimize switch and polling rate settings, and configure Snap Tap.
Profiles
Profiles are data storage systems for Razer device settings. They can be added, imported, renamed, duplicated, exported, or deleted via the 'Other' button.
Hypershift: Activates a second set of key assignments. By default, the Hypershift key is mapped to the Fn key, but can be reassigned.
Gaming Mode: Customize which keys (e.g., Windows Key, Alt+Tab, Alt+F4) are disabled when Gaming Mode is active.
Polling Rate: Higher rates reduce input lag by sending data more frequently.
Snap Tap: Configures keys to prioritize the latest input, even if the first key is still pressed. Details available via link.
HyperSpeed Multi-Device Pairing: Pair multiple Razer devices to a single dongle.
Key Switch Optimization: Choose optimal settings for analog keys, with adjustments for typing (delay to prevent mispresses) and gaming (responsiveness).
Keyboard Properties: Access Windows keyboard settings like delay, interval, cursor blink rate, and driver information.
Reassign Menu
Access the Reassign menu to view and change current key assignments. Options include:
- Default: Resets a key to its original setting.
- AI Launcher: Launches AI prompts or overlays.
- Keyboard Function: Assign keyboard functions, with Turbo Mode for rapid activation.
- Mouse Function: Assign mouse actions (left/right click, scroll, double click, scroll up/down, mouse buttons 4/5, repeated actions).
- Macro: Assign recorded sequences of keystrokes, button presses, and mouse movements.
- Device Link: Control functions of other Razer Synapse devices.
- Profile Switching: Quickly change between saved profiles.
- Chroma Effect Switching: Cycle through Chroma Studio effects.
- Device Brightness: Control LED lighting.
- Razer Hypershift: Assign keys to activate Hypershift mode.
- Launch Program: Open applications or websites.
- Multimedia: Assign media controls (volume, playback, mute).
- Windows Shortcut: Assign Windows OS shortcuts.
- Text Function: Input pre-defined text strings.
- Disable: Makes a key unusable.
Lighting Tab
Customize your Razer device's lighting effects.
- Brightness: Adjust lighting brightness or turn it off.
- Turn off Lighting: Automatically turns off lighting when the system display is off or the device is idle.
- Quick Effects: Apply preset lighting effects like Environmental Awareness, Audio Meter, Breathing, Fire, Reactive, Ripple, Spectrum Cycling, Star-lit, Static, Wave, and Wheel.
Advanced Effects: Select Chroma effect profiles or create custom ones using Chroma Studio.
Chroma Sync: Synchronize lighting effects with other Razer Chroma-compatible devices.
Power Tab
Manage device power consumption during battery operation.
- Dim Lighting: Set idle time before dimming the device.
- Wireless Power Saving: Set idle time before the device enters sleep mode.
Linked Games Tab
Add, display, and search for applications and peripherals linked to your Razer devices. Link apps to specific device profiles for automatic switching when launching the app.
Devices Tab
View peripherals and their linked applications. Add, remove, or filter linked apps. Drag-and-drop executables or use the scan function to add new apps.
Macros Tab
Create, edit, and organize macros, which are sequences of keystrokes, button presses, and mouse movements. Assign macros to device keys or buttons.
- Macro Dropdown Bar: View, search, sort, and manage all macros. Create new folders.
- ... Other: Access macro-related options.
- New Macro: Quickly create a new macro.
Macro creation options include delay settings, shortcut keys for recording, and mouse movement tracking.
Keybinds Tab
Assign shortcut keys to trigger macros. Bind macros to specific keys or buttons without closing the Macro tab.
Settings Tab
Configure various Synapse application settings.
- Synapse: App-specific options like Auto-launch, Recommendations, Device Lighting control, and Notifications.
- Synapse 3 Profile Migration: Transfer profiles, macros, and Chroma effects from Synapse 3 to Synapse 4.
- Reset Tutorials: Re-enable all tutorials.
- General: Access other options and software information.
- Language: Change the display language of Razer Synapse.
- About: View software version, copyright, terms of use, and social community links.
Feedback Tab
Submit feedback, suggestions, or bug reports to help improve Razer Synapse. You may receive rewards for reporting bugs or participating in the vulnerability reward program.
7. Safety Precautions and Maintenance
Safety Guidelines
To ensure maximum safety when using the Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile Hyperspeed:
- Keep the keyboard and accessories away from children.
- Do not disassemble the product. Avoid abnormal electrical loads.
- Keep the product away from liquids, moisture, and water. Operate within the specified temperature range (0°C~40°C).

Ergonomics
To prevent physical discomfort and potential injuries from repetitive motions, improper positioning, or poor posture:
- Position the keyboard and monitor directly in front of you, with the mouse beside it. Keep elbows at a comfortable, close position to easily reach the keyboard.
- Adjust chair and desk height so the keyboard and mouse are at or below elbow level.
- Place feet flat on the floor, maintain an upright posture, and relax your shoulders.
- Keep wrists straight and relaxed while gaming. Avoid bending, extending, or twisting hands for prolonged periods during repetitive actions.
- Do not rest wrists on hard surfaces for extended periods.
- Use a wrist rest during gaming to support your wrists.
- Customize keyboard keys to your preferred gaming style to minimize repetitive or awkward movements.
- Avoid sitting in the same posture for long periods. Stand up, move away from the desk, and stretch your arms, shoulders, neck, and legs.
If you experience pain, numbness, or tingling in your hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, or back, seek medical attention immediately.
Maintenance
To keep the Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile HyperSpeed in optimal condition, minimal maintenance is required. Once a month, disconnect the product from your computer and turn it off. Clean it using a soft cloth or cotton swab. Do not use soap or harsh detergents.
Battery Warning
The Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile Hyperspeed uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Battery life depends on usage environment. If the battery seems depleted, recharge it.
Caution: Do not open, cut, short-circuit, expose to liquids, fire, or heat. This may cause battery leakage or explosion, leading to injury. Battery lifespan varies with usage.
