General Safety Precautions

Before installing or using the Sagemcom Fast 5685 LGB-VMB, read these instructions carefully and strictly observe the precautions.

• Always follow the installation instructions provided with the product.
• Do not connect or use the product during thunderstorms to avoid risks of fire, electric shock, or injury due to mains and/or telephone network interference.
• If the product is used for voice communication, acoustic shocks may occur, and excessive acoustic pressure can cause deafness.
• The product must be installed inside a building and its case must not be opened.
• Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the rear panel and to a computer's Ethernet port.
• Connect only to in-house equipment (SELV interface).
• Connect a telephony cable to the telephony port on the rear panel and to a phone's telephony port.
• Keep plastic bags out of reach of children as they present a risk of suffocation.
• The product is designed for vertical use.
• For wall mounting, use screws and dowels suitable for the wall material (recommended screw diameter: 3.5 mm, length: 30 mm or more; recommended dowel diameter: 5 mm, length: 30 mm).

Climatic Conditions

This product is designed for use in an office or room with a maximum ambient temperature of 40°C (104°F). Avoid installation in areas with excessive sunshine or heat radiation, build-up of heat, or exposure to moisture or condensation. It should be installed in an environment classified as pollution degree 2 (dry, non-conducting pollution).

Water and Moisture

Do not install the product in damp or dusty environments. Prevent contact with water or other liquids. If liquid enters the product, switch it off immediately or unplug the power cord to avoid electrical discharge or fire. Allow the product to dry before switching it on if moved from a cold to a warm environment, as condensation may form internally.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Disconnect the product electrically from the wall socket and computer before cleaning.
• Do not use detergents, aerosols, chemicals, alcohol, benzene, diluents, or flammable products, as they may cause fire.
• Do not dismantle the product to avoid the risk of electric shock. Internal parts are not user-replaceable. Opening covers may expose you to dangerous voltages. Contact customer service for repairs.

Power Supply

• Use only the supplied power unit and accessories. Connect them according to the instructions and the identification label on the power unit.
• Using non-recommended power sources may cause overheating, deformation, electric discharge, or fire.

Accessibility & Electrical Overload

• Ensure the power unit is easily accessible and close to the equipment for quick unplugging in case of a problem.
• Do not overload mains socket blocks or extensions to reduce the risk of fire or electric shock.

Damage Requiring Repair

Unplug the appliance and contact qualified after-sales service if:

• The power supply or plug is damaged.
• A supplied cable is damaged or frayed.
• Liquid has been spilt into the appliance, or it has been exposed to rain or water.
• The appliance does not function normally or its performance varies considerably.
• The appliance has fallen or is damaged.
• There is any sign of overheating.

If small metal objects enter the appliance, disconnect it immediately and contact Customer Service. Do not reconnect until foreign bodies are removed. Unplug immediately if you notice a burning smell or smoke. Do not open the product yourself due to the risk of electric shock.

Regulatory Information

This equipment is designed for private use within a building. Ethernet and telephony ports are intended for indoor cable circuits within the building and do not terminate on remote equipment earthed to a different earthing network.

Wireless device usage may be prohibited in certain environments. Seek permission before use if unsure. Sagemcom Broadband SAS is not responsible for non-compliance with regulations or radio interference caused by non-compliance.

Sagemcom confirms that this product complies with Directive 2014/53/EU and Radio Equipment Regulations 2017.

This marking certifies compliance with user health and safety, electromagnetic compatibility, radio frequency spectrum use, and environmental impact reduction.

The device operates within the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. To limit radio frequency exposure, keep the device at least 20 cm from people.

Frequency bands and maximum transmitted radio-frequency power:

• 2400 – 2483.5 MHz: 100 mW
• 5150 – 5350 MHz: 200 mW
• 5470 – 5725 MHz: 1 W
• 5725 – 5850 MHz: 200 mW

Restrictions

This device is restricted for use in the UK as it may use frequencies in the 5725 – 5850 MHz band. The 5150-5350 MHz frequency range is restricted to indoor use in the United Kingdom.

This radio equipment is subject to restrictions in Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, North Ireland, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Turkey, and Liechtenstein.

UK Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Regulations

Disposal Information

This symbol ♻️ indicates that the product must be collected separately and not disposed of with household waste. European Union collection and recycling schemes are in place, managed by manufacturers. Utilize local collection points (recycling centers, sorted waste collection) or return to retail outlets when purchasing equivalent equipment. Sort packaging waste for easier recycling.

Laser Radiation Warning
