1. Product Introduction

The DSO510 is a highly practical and cost-effective handheld oscilloscope designed by FNIRSI for the maintenance and development education industry. This oscilloscope features a 48MS/s real-time sampling rate, 10MHz bandwidth, and full trigger functions (single, normal, automatic). It can be freely used for both periodic analog signals and non-periodic digital signals, and is capable of measuring voltages up to ±400V. With a single click, the AUTO function efficiently displays the measured waveform without complex adjustments. Additionally, it includes a multi-functional signal generator (50KHz). Equipped with a 2.8-inch, 320*240 resolution HD LCD screen and a built-in 1000mAh lithium battery, the device can be used for approximately 4 hours on a full charge.

2. Panel Introduction

The FNIRSI DSO510 features a clear and intuitive panel layout for easy operation. Key components include:

  • DSO Input: Main input for oscilloscope measurements.
  • DDS Output: Output for the Digital Direct Synthesis signal generator.
  • Square Wave Calibration: Used for calibrating the oscilloscope.
  • Wheel Button: Multi-directional control (left, OK/confirm, right) for navigation and selection.
  • AUTO Button: Initiates automatic measurement and calibration.
  • MODE Button: Switches between measurement modes and accesses parameter settings.
  • Up/Down Buttons: For navigation and adjusting values.
  • RUN Button: Starts/pauses waveform display or enables/disables signal generator output.
  • Reset Hole: For device reset.
  • Charging Indicator: Red light indicates charging, green light indicates fully charged.
  • 2.8-inch Display: The main screen for waveform display and settings.
  • TYPE-C Charging Port (5V/1A): For charging the device.
  • Power Button: For turning the device on/off.

5. Screen Display

5.1 Oscilloscope Interface

The oscilloscope interface displays the measured waveform and various parameters. Key indicators include:

  1. Vertical Unit: Represents the voltage represented by a large grid in the vertical direction.
  2. Trigger Mode Indicator: AUTO indicates automatic trigger, SINGLE indicates single trigger, NORMAL indicates normal trigger.
  3. Probe Ratio: Must match the 1X/10X switch setting on the probe handle. If the probe is in 1X mode, the oscilloscope must also be set to 1X mode, where 1X measures 40V and 10X measures 400V.
  4. Input Coupling Method Indicator: AC indicates AC coupling, DC indicates DC coupling.
  5. Trigger Voltage Indicator

  7. Baseline Indicator: This icon indicates the current position as 0V voltage.
  8. Horizontal Time Base: Represents the time length represented by a large grid in the horizontal direction.
  9. Run/Pause Indicator: RUN indicates running, STOP indicates pausing.
  10. Trigger Edge Indicator
  11. VH (Vertical/Horizontal Controls): Left and right control the time base, up and down control the vertical sensitivity.
  12. Arrow Controls:
    ◀ ▶ (Left/Right): Controls horizontal trigger movement, up and down move the channel waveform up and down.
    ▲ ▼ (Up/Down): Controls horizontal trigger movement, up and down adjust the trigger level.

5.2 Oscilloscope Parameter Settings Interface

Long press the MODE button to enter the oscilloscope parameter settings interface. Here you can adjust various display and measurement parameters:

  1. Waveform: Sets the coupling type, probe ratio, trigger mode, and trigger edge.
  2. Parameter: Toggles the display of parameters (frequency, period, positive duty cycle, negative duty cycle, positive pulse width, negative pulse width, maximum value, minimum value, peak-to-peak value, amplitude, RMS value, average value).
  3. Persistence: Sets afterglow display: off, 500ms, 1s, ∞ (infinite).
  4. Image: View saved images.

5.3 Signal Generator Interface

The signal generator interface allows you to configure and output various waveforms. Key elements include:

  1. Waveform Selection: Choose from Sine, Square, Sawtooth, Half Wave, Full Wave, Step Wave.
  2. Waveform Display: Visual representation of the selected waveform.
  3. Frequency Setting: Adjust the output frequency (e.g., 01000 Hz).
  4. Duty Cycle Setting: Adjust the duty cycle for applicable waveforms (e.g., 050%).
  5. Amplitude Setting: Adjust the output amplitude (e.g., 3.0 V).
  6. Generator Enable/Disable: Indicates if the generator is active (gray if off).
  7. Battery Level: Displays the current battery charge.

5.4 Settings Interface

1. Single Item Selection Settings:

These settings allow you to configure basic device preferences:

  • Language: Select the device's display language.
  • Sound and Light: Adjust brightness and sound volume.
  • Startup on Boot: Choose the default mode upon startup.
  • Theme: Select the display theme.
  • Automatic Power Off: Set the idle time before automatic shutdown.
  • USB Sharing: Enable/disable USB connection for data transfer.
  • About: View brand information and software version.
  • Factory Reset: Restore all settings to their default values.

2. Special Settings Details:

  1. Language: Options include Chinese and English.
  2. Sound and Light: Brightness range: 25-100; Sound volume range: 0-10.
  3. Startup on Boot: Options include off, oscilloscope mode, or signal generator mode. This setting determines which function mode starts automatically upon power-on.
  4. Theme: Options include blue and yellow.
  5. Automatic Power Off: Options include off, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour.
  6. USB Sharing: Connect to a computer via the USB port to transfer images, etc.
  7. About: Displays brand information and version number.
  8. Factory Reset: Resets all previous changes to factory defaults. A warning message will appear: ⚠ Caution! Factory reset will revert all previous changes!

6. Firmware Update

To update the firmware:

  1. When the device is off, press and hold the ⏻ (Power) button first, then press the ⏻ (Power) button again.
  2. Connect the device's Type-C port to a computer using a Type-C cable. An USB drive named "IAP" will appear on the computer.
  3. Drag the firmware file to the USB drive. Once the firmware update is complete, the device will jump to the APP.

⚠ Important Note:

  • Firmware updates are only supported on Windows 10 and higher operating systems.
  • During the file transfer process, you must continuously press and hold the power button until the transfer is complete.

7. Attention and Warning Points

  • After receiving the device, please fully charge it before use.
  • When using the oscilloscope, pay attention to the gear selection, and ensure the oscilloscope's gear matches the probe's gear.
  • When measuring high voltage, do not touch the metal parts of the oscilloscope to avoid the risk of electric shock.
  • Avoid performing high-voltage tests while the device is charging.
  • When calibrating, the BNC probe must be unplugged, or the probe's positive and negative terminals must be short-circuited.
  • USB firmware updates only support WIN10 and above devices. Do not drag files other than the released firmware, as this may lead to irreparable consequences.
  • Please charge the device with the correct voltage as specified in the user manual.
