Mircom FX-401 Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panel

Overview

The Mircom FX-401 is an addressable fire alarm control panel suitable for small to medium-sized installations. It comes pre-assembled with a main board, power supply, transformer, main display, black rear cabinet, and a black or red door.

The FX-401 is compatible with Mircom MGC series devices (MIX-4000 series), including photoelectric duct detectors and multiple modules. It can support up to three addressable loops (SLC) with the addition of the ALC-480, accommodating a total of 720 MGC devices.

The panel features an integrated POTS dialer for communicating panel status to a central monitoring station via two dedicated telephone lines.

Key Features

4 x 20 LCD display.
One integrated SLC loop for MGC devices (MIX-4000 series), supporting 240 devices per loop. Supports analog Class A, Class X, or Class B loops.
SLC current capacity of 200 mA standby and 400 mA in alarm. Maximum line resistance of 40 ohms and maximum line capacitance of 0.47uF.
Expandable to three additional loops for a total of 720 MGC devices (240 devices per loop).
Flexible zone and group configuration options for grouped inputs and outputs.
Compatible with MGC devices, including photoelectric duct smoke detectors and multiple modules.
Sub-addressing of devices for physical address space saving for multiple modules, horn bases, relay bases, and dual input modules.
Compatible with conventional detectors using the MIX-4042 conventional zone module.
Four Class B, Class A limited-power NACs (max. 1.5 Amps each - 6.0 Amps total).
NAC circuits can be configured for silencer, non-silencer, silencer strobes, non-silencer strobes, or relay output. Audible signal can be Steady, Temporal Code, California Code, or March Time.
Supports synchronization protocols from major manufacturers.
USB port on the main board for easy programming and firmware updates via local keypad or PC.
Autoconfiguration via the main display to correlate all detected inputs with all outputs.
Configurable signal silence inhibit, automatic signal silence, and single-man walk test. Supports Auto Suite Silence.
Two-stage operation, alarm verification, and positive alarm sequence.
Dedicated common alarm, supervision, trouble, and auxiliary alarm relays.
The FX-401 can be fitted with two optional RAX-1048TZDS display modules, each providing 48 annunciator points.
Additional outputs include connections for a remote trouble indicator, a reverse polarity module, and up to seven remote annunciators.
Built-in POTS dialer for reporting events to a monitoring station. The digital communicator/UDACT can be configured for single or two-line operation and uses SIA and Ademco Contact ID protocols.
IPS-2424DS and IPS-4848DS modules can be used as remote annunciators when connected to this panel.
Two event history logs: a 400-event alarm log for alarm-related events and a 400-event general log for all other events.
Buzzer Silence can be reused as an auxiliary reset.
Addressable devices will not flash their LEDs when the flashing flag is not enabled.

RAM-3500: Remote annunciator with a 4-line x 20-character LCD display, replicating the main panel's display, LEDs, and switches. Includes control switches for system reset, signal silence, fire drill, and acknowledge, along with a keypad for menu functions.
RAX-LCD-LITE: Remote LCD annunciator with a 4-line x 20-character alphanumeric backlit LCD display and a simple menu system.
RAM-1032TZDS-CC: Remote LED annunciator with conformal coating, providing common annunciator functions and 32 LED points for alarm and trouble indication. Includes controls for system reset, lamp test, fire drill, buzzer silence, and signal silence.
RAM-1032TZDS: Similar to the -CC version but without conformal coating.
RAX-1048TZDS-CC: Programmable LED annunciator module with conformal coating, providing 48 programmable bi-color LEDs. Connects to the main control unit or main annunciator module.
RAX-1048TZDS: Similar to the -CC version but without conformal coating.

AGD-048: Add-on graphics controller module for graphic annunciators (mimics), supporting 48 additional supervised outputs.
MGD-32: Master graphics controller module for graphic annunciators (mimics), providing common control inputs for system reset, signal silence, auxiliary disconnect, fire drill, lamp test, and acknowledge.
SRM-312R: Intelligent relay module with a red cabinet, providing twelve configurable relay circuits rated at 28 VDC, 1 Amp (resistive). Each circuit can be configured as normally open (N.O.) or normally closed (N.C.).
