Product Description

The FX-400 is an addressable fire alarm control panel suitable for small and medium installations. It is shipped pre-assembled with the main control unit, power supply, transformer, main display, black backbox, and a black or red door cabinet.

The FX-400 is compatible with MGC Series devices (MIX-4000 series), including photoelectric duct smoke detectors and multiple modules. It features one addressable SLC loop supporting up to 240 MGC devices.

The FX-400 includes an integrated POT (Plain Old Telephone) dialer, which provides a means to communicate panel status to a central monitoring station via two dedicated telephone lines.

• 4 x 20 LCD display.
• One addressable SLC loop with a maximum of 240 MGC devices (MIX-4000 series) total. Analog loop(s) Class A, Class X, or Class B.
• SLC current capacity is 200 mA standby and 400 mA in alarm. Maximum SLC line resistance is 40 ohms and maximum line capacitance is 0.47uF.
• Flexible zoning and group configuration options for grouped inputs and outputs.
• Compatible with MGC Series devices (MIX-4000 series), including photoelectric duct smoke detectors and multiple modules.
• Device sub-addressing saves physical address space for multiple modules, sounder bases, relay bases, and dual input modules.

• Additional outputs include connections for a remote trouble indicator, a reverse polarity module, and up to seven remote annunciators.
• On-board POT dialer for reporting events to a monitoring station. The digital communicator/UDACT can be configured for single or dual line operation and uses Security Industry Association (SIA) and Ademco Contact ID protocols.
• IPS-2424DS and IPS-4848DS modules can be used as remote annunciators when connected to this panel. These modules mount in a variety of cabinets and connect to the RAM-3318-LCD.
• Two event history logs: a 400-event alarm log for alarm-related events and a 400-event general log for all other events.
• Buzzer Silence can be repurposed as an auxiliary reset.
• Addressable devices will not flash their LEDs when no flashing flag is enabled.

System Components

Remote Annunciators

• RAM-3318-LCD: Remote annunciator used as a component of the FX-400 fire alarm system. Provides an exact replica of the FX-400 display on a remote location. The 4-line, 20-character backlit alphanumeric LCD displays information about the panel, its circuits, and devices. An on-screen cursor is controlled by the directional buttons for menu selection and control. The RAM-3318-LCD occupies a display position in the BB-1000 cabinet.
• RAX-LCD-LITE: Compatible with the FX-400, this remote LCD annunciator features a large 4-line x 20-character backlit alphanumeric LCD with a simple menu system, directional keypad, and buttons for Enter, Menu, Cancel, and Info. The RAX-LCD-LITE occupies a display position in BB-1000 cabinets.
• RAM-1032TZDS-CC: Remote LED annunciator with conformal coating, providing common annunciator functions and 32 LED annunciation points. Includes indicators for AC Power, Common Trouble, and Notification Signal Silence, along with control buttons for System Reset, Lamp Test, Fire Drill, Buzzer Silence, and Notification Signal Silence. Occupies an annunciator position in BB-1001WP(R)A or BB-1002WP(R)A cabinets.
• RAM-1032TZDS: Remote LED annunciator providing common annunciator functions and 32 LED annunciation points. Includes indicators for AC Power, Common Trouble, and Alarm Notification Signal Silence, along with control buttons for System Reset, Lamp Test, Fire Drill, Buzzer Silence, and Alarm Notification Signal Silence. Occupies an annunciator position in BB-1000 series cabinets.
• RAX-1048TZDS-CC: Programmable LED annunciator module with conformal coating, providing 48 programmable bi-color LEDs. Connects to the main control unit or primary annunciator module (RAM-1032TZDS) when remotely mounted. Each display point can be identified by a slide-in label next to the LED. Input Modules

• PS-2424DS: Programmable input switch module providing 24 programmable switches for zone bypass. Connects to the main panel or remote LCD annunciator when remotely mounted. Occupies a display position in BB-1000 series cabinets.
• PS-4848DS: Programmable input switch module providing 48 programmable switches for zone bypass. Connects to the main control unit or remote LCD annunciator when remotely mounted. Occupies a display position in BB-1000 series cabinets.

Additional LED Control Modules

• AGD-048: Adder graphic annunciator LED controller module. Supports an additional 48 supervised outputs. Supports LED and incandescent lamps.

Interface for Fire Alarm Panels

• UIMA4: Interface for configuring the FX-400. Features a removable ribbon cable and connectors for serial (9-pin), USB (Type B), and 10-pin connections.

Master LED Control Modules

• MGD-32: Master LED control module for graphic annunciators (Mimic). Used with FX-400 fire alarm control panels. Provides common control inputs for switches such as system reset, signal silence, auxiliary disconnect, fire drill, and lamp test.

Municipal Station Communication Module

• PR-300: Provides outputs for municipal and reverse polarity supervision applications. Acts as a city connection module, interfacing control panel indicator circuits with a master box. It transmits off-premises signals for systems requiring auxiliary protection. As a reverse polarity module, it interfaces the control panel with a reverse polarity receiver.

Remote Trouble Indicator

• RTI-1: Mircom remote trouble indicator provides remote notification of fire alarm trouble conditions. Mounts in a standard single-gang electrical box. Can be used with any Mircom fire alarm control panel.

End-of-Line Resistor Plate

• MP-300: Mircom end-of-line resistor plate with a 3.9K Ohm resistor for use with conventional panels and Mircom detection circuits.

Cabinets

• BB-1001WP(R)A: Outdoor cabinet including a red or white door, black backbox, two keys, and a top door lock. The door is bottom-hinged for weather protection. Supports a RAM-1032TZDS main annunciator for up to 32 display points. Requires separate ordering of the RAM-1032TZDS-CC for UL, ULC installation compliance.
• BB-1002WP(R)A: Outdoor cabinet including a red or white door, black backbox, two keys, and a top door lock. The door is bottom-hinged for weather protection. Supports a RAM-1032TZDS main annunciator (up to 32 display points) and an RAX1048TZDS-CC additional annunciator module (up to 48 additional display points). Requires separate ordering of the RAM-1032TZDS-CC and RAX1048TZDS-CC for UL, ULC installation compliance.
• SRM-312R: Red cabinet intelligent relay module providing twelve configurable relay circuits, rated at 28 VDC, 1 Amp (resistive). Each circuit can be configured as Normally Open (N.O.) or Normally Closed (N.C.). Each relay has an LED that illuminates when energized. Relays can be configured as zone relay (1 to 1), common alarm, common supervisory, or programmable for adjacent zone or logic zone configuration. Adjacent zone configuration activates an adjacent zone when the configured zone is active. Chaining configuration allows multiple relays to activate. The SRM-312R is DIP switch configurable and connects to the RS-485 bus. Comes with a red cabinet and CAT-30 lock and key.
• BB-1000 Series Cabinets (BB-1001/2/3): BB-1000 series cabinets include a backbox, door, and hinge. Doors feature Lexan windows, two keys, and a lock. Cabinets can house the RAM-1032TZDS main annunciator chassis and additional RAX-1048TZDS modules. Available in various configurations (e.g., BB-1001D, BB-1001DR, BB-1001DS, BB-1001DB for 1 module; BB-1002D, BB-1002DR, BB-1002DS, BB-1002DB for 2 modules; BB-1003D, BB-1003DR, BB-1003DS, BB-1003DB for 3 modules). Weatherproof cabinets (BB-1001WPA, BB-1001WPRA, BB-1002WPA, BB-1002WPRA) are also available.
