Intermittent Operation
When the instantaneous flow rate is set to 10-49 mL/min in Volume Mode, the pump performs intermittent operation by sampling at an instantaneous flow rate of 50mL/min.
Visual Description of Diagram: A diagram illustrates the intermittent operation cycle. It shows a timeline with segments labeled 'sampling' and 'pause'. The cycle consists of 12 seconds of sampling at 50mL/min, followed by a 48-second pause. This pattern repeats until the target volume is achieved.
Example of Intermittent Operation: If Volume Mode is selected and the flow rate is set to 10 mL/min with a target volume of 0.1L, the pump will sample for approximately 12 seconds at 50mL/min, then pause for about 48 seconds. This sampling-pause cycle repeats until the set volume of 0.1 L is collected, taking approximately 10 minutes.
Note: If there is a sudden change in gas concentration or if sampling is performed for a short period, the error in the sampling result may be significant.
Sorbent Tubes
Sorbent tubes are glass tubes filled with sorption agents, such as activated charcoal or silica-gel, used to adsorb toxic gases in various environments. To use them, both ends of the tube are broken off, connected to a sampling pump for sample collection. The adsorbed substance is then extracted using a solvent and analyzed via gas chromatography.
Options and Accessories
- Gas sampling pump tripod stand (GSP-TRIPOD): Allows mounting of the GSP-501FT to use at the desired height.
- Belt loop pump holder (GSP500FT-30): Designed for personal exposure measurement.
- Rubber caps (DTP-2-20): Reusable rubber caps that can be attached to the broken tips of detector tubes as an extra precautionary safety measure. One package contains 20 caps.
- Protective cover for detector tube (GSP300-14): Enables the detector tube to be securely set up for measuring and helps to avoid possible injury to the user as well as damage to the detector tube itself.
- Sampling tube holder (730): A tube holder for personal exposure measurement.
- Tripod mounting plate (PLATE 2): Allows two pumps to be mounted on the same tripod.
