Diagram
The diagram illustrates the components of the extension hose assembly. It shows a metal clamping nut connecting to a rubber inlet, which leads to a nipple. A tube tip breaker is also visible. The hose itself is connected via a metal retaining nut to what appears to be the pump head. An optional rubber shroud is also depicted.
MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
Read the instruction manual of your Gastec Gas sampling pump and the instruction manual of your Gastec Gas detector tube carefully.
- Replace the rubber inlet flange clamping nut of the sampling pump by the metal clamping nut of the extension hose. The metal clamping nut should be firmly tightened to eliminate leakage caused by poor seal between the flange of the rubber inlet and the pump body.
- Insert the nipple of the extension hose securely into the pump inlet.
- Tighten the metal retaining nut firmly and fix the tubing on the pump head.
- After breaking off tube tips, place the tube into the rubber shroud of the extension hose. The tube must be attached in the holder so that sample is drawn into the pump in the direction of the arrow (▶) printed on the tube.
- When use of twin tube, connect rubber tube shroud No. 358 which is sold separately.
Sampling Time and Correction Factors
When this extension hose is used, sampling time may differ from the detector tube's instruction manual. Correction factors may also need to be applied to tube readings. This section provides a chart detailing sampling times for both 1 pump stroke (100mL) and half pump stroke (50mL), along with applicable correction factors for various gases and vapors when using the No. 351A-30 extension hose. It is important to multiply the correction factors for temperature, humidity, pump strokes, extension hose, and atmospheric pressure as necessary. Refer to the specific Gastec Gas Detector tube manual for detailed information on temperature, humidity, and pump stroke corrections.
Currently, the detector tubes listed in the original document are applicable to the No. 351A-30. For tubes not listed, please contact Gastec representatives.
