Casio Watch Module 5283/5332 User Manual

General Care and Precautions

This section provides essential guidelines for maintaining your Casio watch and ensuring its longevity.

Battery

The battery installed at the factory may discharge during shipping and storage. When the display becomes dim, it indicates low battery power, and the battery should be replaced by an authorized CASIO service center or dealer.

Water Resistance

Understanding water resistance ratings is crucial for proper use. Do not press buttons underwater, set hands underwater, or unscrew the crown underwater. If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it completely. Avoid wearing watches with leather straps while swimming, as prolonged contact with water can damage the leather.

Water Resistance Classification

Rating Marking Splash/Rain/Wash Swimming/Light Activity Scuba Diving
INoneYesNoNo
IIWATER RESISTANTYesNoNo
III50M WATER RESISTANTYesYesNo
IV100M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYes
V200M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYes

Note: Water resistance ratings are based on ISO 2281 standards. Brief contact with water will not cause problems for 'WATER RESISTANT' models. 50M/5 BAR models are suitable for showering and brief swimming. 100M/10 BAR models are suitable for regular swimming and snorkeling. 200M/20 BAR models are suitable for scuba diving, excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures.

Plastic Straps: A white powdery substance on plastic straps is harmless and can be wiped off. Sweat, moisture, or high humidity can damage straps; clean them regularly with a soft cloth.

Fluorescent Cases/Straps: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or moisture can cause fluorescent colors to fade. Wipe off moisture promptly.

UV LED Warning

Warning: Never use magnifying optical devices with the backlight on. The watch uses a Class 1M UV LED for its backlight. While invisible, do not use magnifying devices with the backlight active. UV LEDs have a maximum power of less than 25 nW and a wavelength of 375 nm.

If the countdown starts at 6 minutes or more, a beep sounds every second for the 10 seconds leading up to the 5-minute mark.
