BEGA 85 176 Bollard Luminaire

Application

Bollard with single-sided light output and asymmetrical shielded light distribution. The light is directed downwards and is completely shielded above the horizontal. The greatest degree of illuminance is generated in the immediate vicinity of the luminaire.

Dark Sky Compliance

The light of this luminaire is directed evenly and highly efficiently onto the surface to be illuminated. No light is emitted into the upper half-space of the luminaire.

Safety and Installation

Safety

Installation and operation are subject to national safety regulations. Installation and commissioning must only be carried out by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. Modifications made by others render them the manufacturer.

Overvoltage Protection

Electronic components are protected against overvoltage per DIN EN 61547. For additional protection against transients, separate overvoltage protection components are recommended (available at www.bega.com). Optimal protection is achieved with bounce-free switching contacts, such as an electronic relay (e.g., BEGA 71 320).

Installation

LEDs are high-quality electronic components; avoid touching the light output opening directly during installation or relamping.

The base of the luminaire must not be below the top edge of the mounting surface.

A cable length of approximately 300 mm above the mounting surface is sufficient for electrical connection.

The connection box allows through-wiring.

Steps:

• Remove the mounting plate by undoing screws at the base.
• Screw-fit the mounting plate to a foundation or anchorage unit (e.g., BEGA 71 890) using provided or suitable materials.
• Open the connection box.
• Lead the mains supply cable into the connection box, make earth connection, and electrical connection.
• Lead the luminaire connecting cable through the compression nipple into the connection box, make earth connection, and electrical connection.
• Ensure correct configuration: Earth (green-yellow wire), Phase (brown wire), Neutral (blue wire).
• Connect control cables via the DALI-marked wires. If not used, the luminaire operates at full light output.
• Close the connection box.
• Place the luminaire onto the mounting plate, adjust, and fix.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Clean the luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers. Do not use high-pressure cleaners.
