Product Description
The BEGA UniLink® 85 175 is a high-performance floodlight featuring an earth spike and a 5-meter connecting cable with a plug connector. Its construction utilizes die-cast aluminium, aluminium, and stainless steel, finished with BEGA Unidure® coating in graphite. The earth spike is made of glass fiber reinforced synthetic material. Key components include clear safety glass, a silicone gasket, a pure aluminium reflector, and a BEGA Hybrid Optics® silicone lens. The luminaire offers a swivel range of -80°/+90°.
The 5m connecting cable is X05RN-F FEP 2x1 + 1G2.5 with a plug-in connector. It complies with flicker requirements per IEEE 1789, DIN IEC/TR 63158, and DIN IEC/TR 61547-1. The integrated LED power supply operates on 220-240 V ~ 50/60 Hz and features the BEGA Thermal Switch® for temporary thermal shutdown. The floodlight is rated Safety Class I, Protection Class IP65 (dust-tight and protected against water jets), and Impact Strength IK06 (protection against mechanical impacts < 1 joule). It carries the CE conformity mark, weighs 2.4 kg, and its light sources are of energy efficiency class E.
Visual dimensions: The luminaire head has a diameter of approximately 145 mm. The total height with the earth spike is around 425 mm, with the main body at 235 mm and the spike at 130 mm. The swivel range is approximately 80° and 90°.

Lighting Technology
Features symmetrical wide beam light distribution with a half beam angle of 45°. An optional diffuser lens can alter the beam to a flat distribution for specific lighting needs.
Installation and Maintenance
Safety: Adhere to national safety regulations for installation and operation. The manufacturer is not liable for damages from improper use or installation. Any modifications made by third parties will hold them responsible as the manufacturer.
Overvoltage Protection: Internal components are protected against overvoltage per DIN EN 61547. For enhanced protection against transients, consider separate overvoltage protection components available at www.bega.com. Optimal protection is achieved with bounce-free switching contacts like the BEGA 71 320 electronic relay.
Total Load: Ensure the total system power consumption does not exceed 6A. The 85 175 model consumes 0.12A.
Connection: Connect and disconnect BEGA UniLink® plugs only when the system is voltage-free.
Mounting: Insert the luminaire with its earth spike vertically into the soil until stable. Compact soil around the spike if needed. Connect the floodlight cable to the mains plug or distribution/extension cable. The maximum system cable length from the entry point must not exceed 50 meters to ensure adequate protective conductor resistance.
Beam Adjustment: Loosen the joint screw (SW 5 hexagon socket) to set the desired beam direction, then tighten securely (7 Nm torque).
Cleaning: Clean regularly with solvent-free agents. Avoid high-pressure cleaners.
Cable Maintenance: Inspect the connecting cable for external damage. Replacement must be performed by a qualified electrician.
Desiccant Bag: Do not remove the desiccant bag inside the housing; it absorbs residual moisture.
LED Module Replacement: The LED module designation is marked on a label or the module itself. BEGA replacement modules match original specifications. Replacement requires qualified personnel and standard tools. Ensure the system is de-energized. Open the floodlight by loosening the rear locking pin (SW 2.5 hexagon socket). Twist counter-clockwise to remove the trim ring, safety glass, and reflector. Replace the LED module, following its installation instructions. Inspect and replace gaskets if necessary. Replace any damaged glass. Reassemble by aligning notches, twisting the trim ring clockwise until seated, and re-inserting the locking pin.
