Light Technique
Features a narrow beam light distribution with a half beam angle of 24°.
When designing underwater lighting, consider that water absorbs light based on its clarity. This absorption reduces lighting intensity and brightness compared to operation in air.
Overvoltage Protection
The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547.
For additional protection against transients, separate overvoltage protection components are recommended. These can be found on the BEGA website at www.bega.com.
Installation
The floodlight must only be operated underwater in non-accessible ponds or pools.
The electrical connection must be made outside the water, with the appropriate safety class and protection class applied to the floodlight connection line.
Ensure correct wiring: Connect mains supply to the brown (L), blue (N), and green-yellow (earth) wires. Control cables connect via the two DALI-marked wires. If DALI wires are not connected, the luminaire operates at full light output.
Mounting: Pre-mount two suitable mounting screws for the installation surface, spaced 120mm apart. Insert the floodlight bracket into the mounting screws and fasten securely.
Adjustment: To adjust the beam direction, loosen the hexagon socket screws (wrench size 6 mm) and set the desired angle. Tighten the hexagon socket screws evenly.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean the luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers to remove dirt and deposits. Do not use high-pressure cleaners.
To prevent surface damage, the water must have a neutral pH value and be free from substances that cause metal corrosion.
Replacement Parts and Accessories
Important Note: Do not remove the desiccant bag located inside the luminaire housing. It is essential for absorbing residual moisture.
Replacing LED Module / Power Supply Unit
The LED module designation is noted on a label within the luminaire. BEGA replacement modules match the original light colour and output.
Replacement can be performed by qualified persons using standard tools. Avoid direct contact between hands and the LED light-emitting surface during replacement.
Procedure:
- Disconnect the system from the power supply.
- Loosen the floodlight bracket fastening screws at the installation base and remove the bracket backwards from the screws.
- Lift the floodlight above the water level and clean it (refer to Cleaning & Maintenance section).
- Open the floodlight: Loosen the six hexagon socket screws (SW 4) on the back and remove the trim ring.
- Remove the gasket, glass, and reflector.
- Replace the LED module (follow the LED module's installation instructions) or the power supply unit (loosen the five hexagon socket screws (SW 4) on the connection housing and lift off the housing).
- Check gaskets and replace if necessary. Ensure the floodlight housing is completely clean and absolutely dry.
- Reassemble: Replace the connection housing and fasten screws evenly. Insert the reflector, glass, and gasket. Replace the trim ring and tighten screws evenly in a crosswise pattern. Tightening torque: 3.7 Nm.
- Perform a function test outside the water.
- Insert the floodlight with the bracket into the mounting screws and fasten it.
Accessories
71 265 Mounting plate: A mounting plate for positioning the underwater floodlight when it is not bolted to the substrate by the installer. Refer to separate instructions for use.
