Overvoltage Protection
The electronic components integrated into the luminaire are protected against overvoltage according to DIN EN 61547.
For enhanced protection, such as against transients, it is recommended to use separate overvoltage protection components. These can be found on the BEGA website at www.bega.com.
Installation
General Guidelines:
- The luminaire housing must not be installed within heat-insulating materials.
- A separate power supply unit is required for the luminaire's operation.
- The luminaire is equipped with two 2-pin connectors for connection to external LED power supply units (accessory numbers 13178 or 13174).
- Always observe the specific instructions for use provided with the LED power supply units.
- LEDs are high-quality electronic components. To prevent damage, avoid direct contact with the LED light output surface with your hands during installation or when replacing modules.
Electrical Connection:
- Connect the luminaire electrically to the LED power supply unit.
- Guide the LED power supply unit through the ceiling opening and position it within the suspended ceiling space.
- The luminaire housing's stop ring covers the recessed opening.
- The installation housing is secured using three adjustable springs.
Installation into Suspended Ceilings:
- A ceiling cut-out of 380 mm diameter and a minimum depth of 155 mm is required.
- Insert the luminaire housing into the ceiling cut-out.
- Evenly tighten the Torx screws (T 20) of the three mounting springs. These springs will engage behind the ceiling panel.
- The thickness of the ceiling panel should be between 9 mm and 25 mm. If the panel thickness is less than 3 mm, it must be reinforced from the back in the area of the mounting springs.
Connecting Luminaire and Power Supply:
- Connect the two 2-pin plug connectors between the luminaire and the external LED power supply unit.
Installing the LED Unit:
- Carefully unpack the LED unit using the enclosed gloves.
- Insert the LED unit into the luminaire housing via the keyholes.
- Turn the LED device anticlockwise until it is fully seated.
- Evenly tighten the screws (T 10) to secure the LED unit.
Attaching the Diffuser:
- Position the synthetic diffuser onto the luminaire housing, ensuring the cam pins align with the corresponding notches on the diffuser's edge.
- Secure the diffuser by turning it clockwise. This ensures a safe and vibration-resistant fit.
- To remove the diffuser, turn it counter-clockwise.

Cleaning and Maintenance

LED Module Replacement
The designation of the LED module is indicated on a label inside the luminaire.
BEGA replacement modules are designed to match the original modules in terms of light color and luminous flux. The replacement process can be performed by qualified individuals using standard tools.
- Ensure the electrical system is de-energized before starting.
- Unscrew the synthetic diffuser from the luminaire housing by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Refer to the specific installation instructions provided with the LED module.
- Screw the synthetic diffuser back into the luminaire housing by turning it clockwise.
- A damaged synthetic diffuser must be replaced.
